We investigated tissue responses to endoskeleton stent grafts for saccular abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) in canines. Saccular AAAs were made with Dacron patch in 8 dogs, and were excluded by endoskeleton stent grafts composed of nitinol stent and expanded polytetrafluoroethylene graft. Animals were sacrificed at 2 months (Group 1; n = 3) or 6 months (Group 2; n = 5) after the placement, respectively. The aortas embedding stent grafts were excised en bloc for gross inspection and sliced at 5 to 8 mm intervals for histopathologic evaluation. Stent grafts were patent in all except a dog showing a thrombotic occlusion in Group 2. In the 7 dogs with patent lumen, the graft overhanging the saccular aneurysm was covered by thick or thin thrombi with no endothelial layer, and the graft over the aortic wall was completely covered by neointima with an endothelial layer. Transgraft cell migration was less active at an aneurysm than at adjacent normal aorta. In conclusion, endoskeleton stent grafts over saccular aneurysms show no endothelial coverage and poor transgraft cell migration in a canine model.

Objective; Adenoviral pneumonia has been common among infectious diseases which developed in the military. The clinical characteristics and outcomes of the patients with adenoviral pneumonia and accompanying complications are not clear. This study aims to evaluate the complications associated with adenoviral pneumonia. Method; All adults(age >18 years) who initially diagnosed as pneumonia by a combination of clinical symptoms, laboratory, and imaging findings in the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital were prospectively enrolled in the current study from February to September 2018. This research was supported by a grant from the Korean Military Medical Association. Results; During the study period, a total of 126 patients(60 patients via the out-patient department, and 66 patients via emergency department) were finally enrolled. All patients were male, and the mean age was 21.1±3.4 years. Among all patients, 78.6% of patients(99/126) were confirmed as viral pneumonia by respiratory multiplex polymerase chain reaction test. Among 99 patients with viral pneumonia, 69.7%(69/99) patients were diagnosed as adenoviral pneumonia. The most frequent complications were tonsillitis(62.5%), and the others were as follows: hematologic abnormalities(36.2%), gastroenteritis(36.2%), hepatitis(37.7%), hematuria or proteinuria(34.8%), and pericardial effusion(5.8%). Conclusion; The patients with adenoviral pneumonia are sometimes complicated into other systemic organs. The most of systemic complications are improved by conservative management. When patients with severe or fatal adenoviral pneumonia, the physicians should pay attention and monitoring the onset of other systemic organ involvements.
레이더 및 ERA5를 활용한 딥러닝 기반 초단기 강수예측 성능 향상 및 검증

최근 여러 분야에서 데이터 기반의 문제해결 방법론이 성공적으로 적용되고 있다. 초단기 강수예측은 인공지능 기술 적용의 관점에서 매우 도전적인 주제임과 동시에, 현 시점에서 가장 성공 가능성이 높은 영역에 해당되기도 한다. 이에 레이더 또는 위성자료를 활용하여 특정 지역의 초단기 강수예측을 구현하고자 하는 연구가 꾸준히 시도되고 있다. 하지만, 현재까지 공개된 인공지능 기반 초단기 강수예측 모델들은 다음 중 적어도 하나 이상의 항목에서 기존의 외삽법 및 수치모델 기반의 모델들에 비해 한계점을 가지게 된다. 1) 주로 수십 km 규모의 한정된 공간 영역만을 고려함에 따라, 예측 영역 밖에서 발달하여 진입하는 강수시스템에 대한 적절한 대응이 부족하고, 2) 구현 또는 비교검증을 위해 제시된 예측시간범위가 2시간 내외에 불과하여, 최소 6시간의 예측정보를 제공하는 기존의 초단기 강수예측 모델과 정당한 비교를 하기에 부적절하며, 3) 관측자료만을 학습데이터로 활용함에 따라 강수시스템의 발달과정과 연관된 대기의 역학적, 열역학적 구조에 대한 고려가 불가능하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한반도 중남부 내륙과 일부 도서를 포함하는 512 km × 512 km의 영역에 대하여 6시간 예측성능을 가지며, ERA5의 주요 역학적, 열역학적 변수를 레이더 데이터와 함께 학습할 수 있는 딥러닝 기반 초단기 강수예측 모델을 구축하였다. 구축된 딥러닝 기반 초단기 강수예측 모델의 성능은 CSI, POD, FAR, BIAS 등의 skill score 및 Monte Carlo permutation test에 의한 유의성 검정을 통해 MAPLE의 정량강수추정 결과와 비교하였다. 또한 2017년 7월 24일에 발생한 집중호우 사례를 통해 각 예측모델의 정성적 예측 특성을 살펴보았다. 구축된 딥러닝 기반 초단기 강수예측 모델은 925 hPa의 divergence와 레이더 반사도를 함께 학습데이터로 활용할 경우 가장 우수한 예측 성능을 보였으며, 특히 예측후반부와 높은 threshold에서 유의미한 성능 개선이 나타나는 것을 확인하였다.
GZO/Metal/GZO 하이브리드 구조 투명 전도막의 전기적, 광학적 특성

Transparent conducting films having a hybrid structure of GZO/Metal/GZO were prepared on glass substrates by sequential deposition using DC magnetron sputtering. Silver, copper, aluminum and zinc thin films were used as the intermediate metal layers in the hybrid structure. The electrical and optical properties of hybrid transparent conducting films were investigated with varying the thickness of metal layer or GZO layers. With increasing the metal thickness, hybrid films showed a noticeable improvement of the electrical conductivity, which is mainly dependent on the electrical property of the metal layer. GZO(40 ㎚)/Ag(10 ㎚)/GZO(40 ㎚) film exhibits a resistivity of 5.2×10?? Ωㆍ㎝ with an optical transmittance of 82.8%. For the films with Zn interlayer, only marginal reduction in the resistivity was observed. Furthermore, unlike other metals, hybrid films with Zn interlayer showed a decrease in the resistivity with increasing the GZO thickness. The optimal thickness of GZO layer for anti-reflection effect at a given thickness of metal (10 ㎚) was found to be critically dependent on the refractive index of the metal. In addition, x-ray diffraction analysis showed that the insertion of Ag layer resulted in the improvement of crystallinity of GZO films, which is beneficial for the electrical and optical properties of hybrid-type transparent conducting films.

Juvenile ossifying fibroma is a rare benign neoplasm with locally aggressive growth and high recurrent rate. Juvenile ossifying fibroma is classified into juvenile psammomatoid and trabecular type by histological findings. juvenile psammomatoid ossifying fibroma is generally seen in younger age group and the most common site is paranasal sinuses, orbits, and fronto-ethmoidal complex. Clinical symptoms vary from diplopia, nasal obstruction and headache to cosmetic disfigurement, depending on the location and the size of lesion. Complete excision is the treatment of choice because of its high tendency to recur. The author recently experienced a psammomatoid ossifying fibroma of anterior skull base in a 16-year-old boy who had the past history for about completely healed acute lymphocytic leukemia. We removed that tumor by endonasal endoscopic transseptal approach. We present a case of JPOF, and a comprehensive review on its clinical, histo-pathological, therapeutic and prognostic aspects.

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of palm kernel expellers on productive performance, nutrient digestibility, and changes in white blood cells (WBC) of lactating sows. A total of 14 sows (200±12 kg of average body weight [BW]; 2.5 of average parity) were used and moved from gestation room to farrowing room on d 109 of gestation. Sows were randomly assigned to 2 dietary treatments in a completely randomized design. The treatments were a diet based on corn and soybean meal (CON) and CON added with 20% of palm kernel expellers (PKE). Sows were fed the treatments for 28 days (weaning) after farrowing. Blood was collected from each sow and 4 randomly selected piglets from each sow before farrowing or on d 3, 7, or 14 of lactation. Sows were fed respective treatments containing 0.2% chromic oxide from d 15 to 21 of lactation. Fecal samples were collected daily for the last 3 days after the 4-d adjustment period. Measurements were performances and WBC changes of sows and litter, nutrient digestibility of sows, and daily diarrhea of litter. Sows fed PKE had greater average daily feed intake (7.38 vs 7.10 kg/d; p<0.05) and lost less BW (−6.85 vs −8.54 kg; p<0.05) and backfat depth (−0.42 vs −0.71 mm; p<0.05) than those fed CON. However, there were no differences on digestibility of dry matter, nitrogen, and energy and weaning to estrus interval of sows fed either CON or PKE. Piglets from sows fed PKE gained more BW (203 vs 181 g/d; p = 0.08) and had less frequency of diarrhea (6.80 vs 8.56%; p = 0.07) than those from sows fed CON. On the other hand, no difference was found on preweaning mortality of piglets from sows fed either CON or PKE. Sows fed PKE had lower number of WBC (9.57 vs 11.82 ×103/μL; p = 0.09) before farrowing than those fed CON, but no difference on d 3 and 7. Similarly, piglets from sows fed PKE had also lower number of WBC (7.86 vs 9.80 ×103/μL; p<0.05) on d 14 of lactation than those from sows fed CON, but no difference on d 3 and 7. In conclusion, addition of 20% palm kernel expellers to lactation diet based on corn and soybean meal had no negative effects on productive performance, nutrient digestibility, and WBC changes of lactating sows.
