일부지역 치위생 전공 대학생의 외모만족도 및 신체이미지가 대인관계에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 치위생을 전공하는 대학생의 외모만족도와 신체이미지가 대인관계에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 실시하였다. 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 2013년 4월 1일부터 5월 7일까지 치위생(학)과에 재학 중인 학생을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 대상자의 외모만족도 평균은 2.79±0.42점, 신체이미지 평균은 2.85±0.53점, 대인관계능력 평균은 3.23±0.48점으로 나타났다. 대인관계능력은 외모만족도와 그 하위영역인 신체강도 및 신체이미지와 정적 상관관계가 있었고, 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 학년(p<0.001), 학제(p=0.005), 임상실습경험(p=0.006), 외모만족도(p=0.003), 신체이미지(p=0.002)로 나타났으며, 이들 변수의 설명력은 35.6%였다. 위의 결과에서와 같이 외모만족도와 신체이미지는 대인관계에 영향을 미치는 요인이므로 바람직한 대인관계를 형성하기 위해서는 자신에 대한 긍정적인 자아개념 형성이 매우 중요하다. 따라서 자신의 외모와 신체이미지에 대해 긍정적이고 올바른 인식을 심어줄 수 있는 다양한 프로그램의 개발과 적용이 필요할 것으로 보인다. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the satisfaction level of dental hygiene students with their own appearance and their body images on interpersonal relationships. Structured questionnaires were utilized to gather data from dental hygiene students from April 1 to May 7, 2013. The students investigated got a mean of 2.79±0.42, 2.85±0.53 and 3.23±0.48 in appearance satisfaction, body image and interpersonal relationship abilities respectively. Interpersonal relationship abilities had a positive correlation to appearance satisfaction and body strength, one of its subfactors, and interpersonal skills were positively correlated to body image as well. As appearance satisfaction and body image were identified as influential factors for interpersonal relationship abilities, its quite important for individuals to have a positive self-concept to build good interpersonal relationships. Therefore personal counseling should be provided for students to take the right view of their own appearance and bodies, and the development and implementation of diverse programs are required as well.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among burnout, compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction and social support of clinical dental hygienists. The subjects in the study were 313 dental hygienist who were randomly selected in dental clinic and hospital, which were located in Daejeon, South and North Chungcheong province. Data were gathered using structured questionnaires from June 17 to July 31, 2013. The major findings of the study were as follows: 1. As for burnout by general characteristics, there were statistically significant difference according to age, marital status, clinical career, agency work type and job position. 2. The relationship of burnout and other variables was analyzed, and compassion fatigue had a significant positive effect on burnout, and compassion satisfaction and social support had negative effects on burnout. 3. As a result of analyzing which variables affected burnout, it.s found that burnout were under the influence of agency work type, compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction and social support. These variables made a 56.9% prediction of burnout. These findings provide strong empirical evidence for the importance of compassion fatigue, compassion satisfaction and social support in explaining burnout of clinical dental hygienists. Therefore, the effective human resource management programs should be developed to consideration with the dental hygienist work environment and the quality of service.

일부 치위생 전공 대학생의 의사소통능력과 공감능력이 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 치위생학을 전공하는 대학생의 의사소통능력과 공감능력이 대인관계능력에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 대상은 편의 주출된 충청북도 소재3개 대학교, 대전광역시 l개 대학교, 경상남도 l개 대학교로 578명의 치위생(학)과 재학생을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료는 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 2013년 4월 l일부터 5월 7일까지 수집하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. l. 연구대상자의 대인관계능력 평균은 3.23±0.49점, 의사소통능력의 총점은 85.80±10.12점, 공감능력의 총점은 83.27±8.37점이있다. 2. 일반적 특성에 따른 의사소통능력, 공감능력 및 대인관 계능력은 연령(p<0.001), 학년(p<0.001), 임상실습경험 (p<0.001), 전공만족도(p=0.016, p=0.018, p=0.047)에서 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 3. 의사소통능력, 공강능력 및 대인관계능력 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 분석한 결과, 대인관계능력은 의사소통능력, 공감능력 및 각각의 하위 항목들과 유의한양의 상관관계를 강하게 보였다(p<0.01) 4. 대인관계응력에 영향을 미치는 관련 연수들을 파악하기 위해 분석한 결과, 연령(p=0.037), 임상실습겸험(p <a,001), 의사소통능력(p<0.001), 공감능력(p<0.001)이 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났고,이들 연수의 설명력은 57.2%였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 의사소통능력과 공감능력은 대인관계능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로, 성인기로의 발달 과정을 거치고 있는 미래의 보건의료인력인 치위생 전공 미학생의 원만한 대학생활과 성공적인 대인관계 형성을 위해 이들 변 수를 고려한 교과과정 개발 및 체계적인 교육프로그램 개발이 필요하다고 생각된다. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of the communication competence and empathy abilities of dental hygiene students on their interpersonal relationship abilities. The subjects in this study were 578 students who majored in dental hygiene at five randomly selected colleges. Out of the colleges, three were located in North Chungcheong province, and one was located in the city of Daejeon. The other one was located in South Gyeongsang province. Data were gathered using structured questionnaires from April 1 to May 7, 2013. The major findings of the study were as follows: 1. The respondents got a mean of 3.23±0.49, 85.80±10.12 and 83.27±8.37 in interpersonal relationship abilities,communication competence and empathy abilities respectively. 2. As for communication competence, empathy abilities and interpersonal relationship abilities by general characteristics, there were statistically significant differences according to age, academic year, clinical practice experience and satisfaction with major. 3. The relationship of communication competence and empathy abilities to interpersonal relationship abilities was analyzed, and interpersonal relationship abilities were found to have a strong significant positive correlation to communication competence, empathy abilities and the subfactors of the two. 4. As a result of analyzing which variables affected interpersonal relationship abilities,it`s found that interpersonal relationship abilities were under the influence of age, clinical practice experience, communication competence,empathy abilities. These variables made a 57.2% prediction of interpersonal relationship abilities. The above-mentioned findings suggest that communication competence and empathy abilities exerted an influence on interpersonal relationship abilities. Therefore curriculums and educational programs should be developed in consideration of these variables to ensure the stable college lives and successful relationship building of dental hygiene students who are on the way to adulthood and will serve as health care personnels in the future.

외모만족도와 자아탄력성이 치위생(학)과 재학생의 취업스트레스에 미치는 영향

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the appearance satisfaction and ego-resilience of dental hygiene students on their employment stress. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 403 female dental hygiene students in five colleges in Chungbuk-do, Gyeongnam-do, and Daejeon. Results: 1. The college students got a mean of 2.78±0.42, 3.27±0.41 and 2.28±0.52 in appearance satisfaction, ego-resilience and job-seeking stress, respectively. 2. Employment stress revealed higher score in poorer financial conditions(p<0.001) and less major satisfaction(p<0.001). 3. Employment stress had a negative correlation to a physical attraction and somatic condition which were the sub-factors of appearance satisfaction. Stress also had a negative correlation to personal relationship and emotional control which were the sub-factors of ego-resilience. 4. Household economy(p=0.023) was identified as a variable that affected job-seeking stress, physical attraction(p=0.048) and somatic condition(p=0.039). Personal relationship(p=0.040) and emotional control(p=0.034) were the influential variables and had 33.2% of explanation power for employment stress. Conclusions: Appearancesatisfaction and ego-resilience were the factors affecting job-seeking stress. Therefore counseling and educational programs should be provided for dental hygiene students to look at their own appearance and bodies in a more positive way, to foster their ego-resilience, to relieve and properly cope with employment stress and ultimately to promote their mental health.

치위생과 학생들의 임상실습만족도가 치과위생사 이미지에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between image of dental hygienists and clinical practice satisfaction of dental hygiene students. The subjects in the study were 706 female students who majored in dental hygiene at randomly selected colleges, which were located in Daejeon, Ulsan, and North Chungcheong province. Data were gathered using structured questionnaires from October 20, 2014 to April 13, 2015. The major findings of the study were as follows: The average of satisfaction with clinical practice was 3.32, The average of image of dental hygienists was 3.55. As for clinical practice satisfaction by general and practice characteristics, there were statistically significant difference according to degree of satisfaction for major, as for image of dental hygienists, there were statistically significant difference according to grade, degree of satisfaction for major, number of clinical experience, practice organization and admission motive. The relationship of image of dental hygienists and clinical practice satisfaction was analyzed, and clinical practice satisfaction had a significant positive effect on image of dental hygienists. As a result of analyzing which variables affected image of dental hygienists, it’s found that image of dental hygienists were under the influence of number of clinical experience, practice organization and clinical practice satisfaction. Clinical practice satisfaction influenced image of dental hygienists. Therefore, dental hygiene students are given a chance to have positive image through well-structured clinical practice.

치위생전공 학생의 분노표현이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 일부 지역의 치위생전공 여학생이 주관적으로 느끼는 분노에 대한 감정표현과 자아존중감 간의 관계에 대해 생각하고 관련성을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 연구대상은 편의 추출된 대전광역시와 충청북도에 소재하는 대학교의 치위생과 598명의 여학생을 대상으로 하였으며, 자료는 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 2014년 5월 20일부터 2014년 6월5일까지 수집하였다. 자아존중감과 분노표현 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 분석한 결과, 분노표현과 자아존중감은 부적상관관계(p<0.01)를 보였으며 분노표현의 하위영역인 괴롭힘(p<0.01), 언어·심리적 폭력(p<0.05), 따돌림(p<0.01)과도 부적 상관성을 보였다. 자아존중감의 하위영역 중 부모양육태도 및 관계(p<0.01)만이 분노표현과 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 관련 변수들을 파악하기 위해 분석한 결과는 학년(p=0.040), 학교 성적이 낮은 하 집단보다 상 집단(p<0.001)과, 중 집단(p=010)인 경우 분노표현의 하위영역인 괴롭힘(p=0.002), 언어·심리적 폭력(p=0.035), 따돌림(p<0.001)이 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났고, 이들 변수의 설명력은 39.3%였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 자아존중감은 분노표현과 높지는 않지만 관련성을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 졸업 후다양한 대인관계, 즉 환자, 치과의사, 동료 치과위생사 및 치과관련 다양한 직종분야의 사람들과의 밀접한 관계에서 업무를 수행해야 하는 치위생전공 대학생들에게 개인 및 학과또는 대학 차원에서 자신을 존중하고 타인을 배려할 수 있도록 자기계발 및 자아존중 프로그램의 개발·운영이 필요하다고 생각된다. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between anger expression and self-esteem of female college students of dental hygiene. Participants were 598 female students who majored in dental hygiene from randomly selected colleges, located in Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do. Data were gathered from May 20 to June 5, 2014, using structured questionnaires. The major findings of the study were as follows: the correlation between anger expression and self-esteem was analyzed, and self-esteem was found to have a weak significant negative correlation with anger expression. On analyzing data to explore which variables affected self-esteem, it was found that self-esteem was influenced by grade, school record, harassment, languageㆍpsychological violence, and bullying. The above-mentioned findings suggest that anger expression is related to self-esteem. After graduation from college, dental hygiene students, encounter a variety of interpersonal relationships in their work. Therefore self-esteem programs need to be developed and implemented at an individual, departmental, and collegiate level to help students learn to respect themselves and others, and to provide appropriate care.
