SEAT(Seat Effective Amplitude Transmissibility) index is used to evaluate a ride comfort under a vehicle driving condition. The objective evaluation methodology using several accelerometers is proposed to derive objective index which is more reasonable than subjective evaluation. Moreover, CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) methodology is proposed to obtain simulation results using the measured acceleration data at seat mountings as input conditions to seat system assembly. Finally, several case studies are conducted for maximizing a ride comfort using CAE model.

Purpose: Car seats affect customer satisfaction greatly when the seats` design is changed because car holders are in close contact with the seats. However, the improvement of the current seats` design involves risks such as investment cost, and therefore it needs strategic operating measures from the perspective of customers. Until now, operations of seats` specification have been decided by technical-push rather than market-pull, and carried out based on professionals` experience without measuring customer satisfaction correctly. The purpose of this study is to present a systematic approach to measure customers` perception on the car seats using the Kano model and pairwise comparison technique. Methods: The authors derive 17 major functions of a car seat by analyzing major components of car seats,and conduct a survey of 141 adults who hold a car(s). Results: The results show that consumers perceive the adjustable functions of front seats as must-be while the same functions for rear seats are perceived as attractive. In particular, motor operated functions for both front and rear seats increase customer satisfaction greatly if they are presented. Conclusion: This study shows that how much customer (dis)satisfaction will increase if a function of car seats (non)fulfilled, and therefore, the results of this study will provide practitioners and R&D personnel in new automobile seats development projects with useful information.
여름철 남해도 연안 식물플랑크톤 군집 구조의 단기 변화

The short-term dynamics of the summer phytoplankton community structure were investigated in coastal waters around Namhae Island, the Southern Sea of Korea. The study was based on a comprehensive survey constituting 39 collections from 13 stations on July 18-22, August 1-2, 14-16 and 27-30, respectively. The community structure was analysed using cluster analysis and important environmental correlates of the assemblage structure were identified with canonical correspondence analysis (CCA). Water temperature, salinity, NO₂, NO₃, NH₄, PO₄, chlorophyll a and transparency were measured as physico-chemical environmental factors which may be associated with the phytoplankton community structure. Variations of salinity and concentrations of NO₃ and chlorophyll a were not significant. In addition to warmer water temperature, concentrations of NO₂, NO₄and PO₄ decreased at the beginning of August. And transparency was deeper and water column became very unstable after the middle of August. A wide taxonomic diversity was encountered during the survey, including a total of 121 taxa which was composed of 72 diatoms, 48 dinoflagellates and 1 euglenoid species. Cluster analysis showed that the Phytoplankton community could be divided into 4 distinct groups, indicating rapid changes of the community in the short course of this survey. These phytoplankton groups also showed distinctive dispersion patterns in 2-dimensional canonical space, indicating distinct groupings for stations at each survey. Dominant taxa of diatoms (Chaetoceros curvisetus, Chaetoceros spp., Leptocylindrus danicus, Leptocylindrus mediteraneus, Skeletonema costanum, and Pseudo-nitzschia pungen) clustered in region of CCA space corresponding to stations surveyed at the middle of July. Dominant taxa of dinoflagellates were tightly associated with stations surveyed at the middle (Karenia breve) and end (Cochlodinium polykrikoides and Polykrikos schwartzii) of August. The CCA also showed that the phytoplankton community compositions were highly associated with water temperature, transparency, NO₂, NH₄ and PO₄, suggesting that gradients in physical and nutrient conditions affect short-term changes in phytoplankton composition.

Recently, customers have been concerned about vehicle NVH depending on vehicle designing and manufacturing technologies development. In choosing vehicle, vehicle NVH is becoming the most important factor to customers. Especially, a seat is the final stage of vibration transfer path to passengers from all sources of vibration like engine, transmission and etc. And seat is the nearest component from driver's ear. For this reason, seat is the most important component that directly related to ride comfort for passengers. And driver can be influenced sensitively by BSR caused by seat. Thus, evaluating the vibration characteristics of vehicle seat and BSR caused by vehicle seat is necessary to reduce the seat BSR. The rattle noise occurred from seat has evaluated through sound source visualization and multi-dimensional spectral analysis - coherence function technique in this paper. Vibration characteristics of the seat has verified through modal test.

Two cases of alveolar bone graft with autogenous cancellous bone from proximal tibial metaphysis was done. Satisfactory amount and quality of autogenous cancellous bone was obtained. Considering its overall lack of morbidity, the proximal tibial metaphysis is a useful donor site for small to moderate bone defect in oral & maxillofacial region.
