This paper proposes a diagnosis to detecting poor contact fault and fault location. Electrical fire by poor contact fault of power cable occupied a large proportion in the total electrical installations. The proposed method has an object to prevent electrical fault in advance. But detecting poor contact fault is difficult to detect fault type and fault location by using conventional reflectometry due to faults generated intermittently and repeatedly on the time change. Therefore, in this paper poor contact fault and fault conditions were defined. System generating poor contact fault produced for the experimental setup. SSTDR and algorithm of reference signal elimination heighten performance detecting poor contact fault on live power cable. The diagnosis methods of signal process and analysis of reflected signal was proposed for detecting poor contact fault and fault location. The poor contact fault and location had been detected through proposed diagnosis methods. The fault location and error rate of detection were verified detecting accuracy by experiment results.

This paper presents a quantitative analysis method to quantitatively indicate a electrical fire preventive effect of safety inspection for electrical facilities for general use. Logic model was developed based on whether enforcement of safety inspection for electrical facilities, and then the developed analysis model was converted to hydraulic model by using mathematical logic. The electrical fire preventive effect of safety inspection for electrical facilities was quantitatively calculated by applying electrical safety inspection results and fire statistics for five years to the developed hydraulic model. The results show that electrical fire preventive effects of 5,542 cases on annual average for five years.

This study used general carbon fibers(CF), which can be utilized for a low voltage cable screen, as well as metal-coated carbon fibers(MCF) to make cables and analyzed the properties of electromagnetic effectiveness. Both braid CF and MCF cables with 3,000 strands, 16 spindles, and braid density of 90% or over were adopted. The tape-type MCF specimens were spread into a tape(width: 15mm) using a hot melt to make a cable. The shield effectiveness was measured up to the 1GHz range in accordance with IEC 62153-4-6; braid shielded cables featured a superior shielding effect at 63dB than tape-type shielded cables. That was because the tape-type shielded cable has relatively more gaps and holes between carbon fibers than the braid type, resulting in a more inflow or emission of electromagnetic waves. In the case of braid cables, the characteristics of their electromagnetic waves were enhanced, with higher spindles and higher conductivity of carbon fibers. The shield effectiveness of the MCF shielded cable, however, was lower than that of tin-coated one.
