Sihosamultang(SST) has been used for the treatment of puerperal fever, liver disease in traditional medicine. The present study was carried out to evaluate the antioxidant effects of SST extract in vitro. The inhibitory effect of SST extract on lipid peroxidant was examined in the linoleic acid autoxidation system. In this test, SST extract significantly inhibited the time course of the lipid peroxidation. And SST extract showed about 73% scavenging effect on DPPH radical. And this extract inhibited not only the lipid peroxide formation induced by hydroxyl radical derived from $ H_{2}O_{2}-Fe^{2+}$ in the rat liver homogenate, but also the superoxide generation from xanthine-xanthine oxidase system in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, SST extract protected the hepatic cell death induced by tert-butyl hydroperoxide. These data indicated that SST might play a protective role against oxidative injury by free radicals.

본 논문은 이론모형을 통해 국가간 경제규모와 요소부존도의 차이가 무역량과 산업내무역 에 미치는 영향을 도출하고, 이를 1970-1994 기간에 걸친 세계 82개국의 소득통계와 무역통 계를 이용하여 실증적으로 검증하고 있다. 이론모형에 의하면, 국가간 경제규모의 유사성이 클수록 총무역량과 산업내무역지수는 증가하고, 또 국가간 요소부존도의 차이가 클수록 산업내무역은 감소하고, 총무역량은 약하지만 증가한다. 시계열 상관분석과 횡단면 회귀분석의 결과는 두 국가간의 경제규모의 차이와 요소부존도의 차이에 의해 무역량과 산업내무역이 결정 된다는 이론모형의 가설이 타당함을 보여준다.

<b>Purpose:</b> We compared the measurements of anterior chamber depth (ACD) and anterior chamber angle (ACA) using ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) in the sitting position compared with IOL Master<sup>Ⓡ, Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ, and Spectralis optical coherence tomography (OCT) to evaluate the clinical usefulness of UBM in the sitting position. <b>Methods</b>: We evaluated 92 eyes in 47 healthy adults. ACD was measured by IOL Master<sup>Ⓡ, Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ, and UBM. ACA was measured using Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ, UBM, and Spectralis OCT. UBM was performed in the sitting position using bag/balloon technology. Measured values were compared statistically. <b>Results</b>: ACD measured by IOL Master<sup>Ⓡ, Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ, and UBM was 3.57 ± 0.32 μm, 3.64 ± 0.33 μm and 3.51 ± 0.32 μm, respectively. UBM measurements of ACD were significantly shallower than with the other methods (<em>p</em> < 0.001). The results among the 3 methods were strongly correlated (<em>r</em> > 0.8, <em>p</em> < 0.05 in all groups). Mean ACA of 4 directions was not significantly different among the 3 methods (<em>p</em> > 0.05). There was strong correlation between UBM and Spectralis OCT (<em>r</em> = 0.957) but moderate correlation between Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ and UBM and Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ and Spectralis OCT (<em>r </em>= 0.557, 0.571, respectively, <em>p</em> < 0.05). Specifically, ACA of the superior quadrant showed a low correlation between Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ and UBM and Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ and Spectralis OCT (<em>r</em> = 0.257, 0.295, respectively). <b>Conclusions:</b> ACD measured by UBM in the sitting position was shallower compared to the other methods; however, ACD measured by IOL Master<sup>Ⓡ, Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ, and UBM showed significant correlations among the methods. The mean ACA measured by Pentacam<sup>Ⓡ, UBM, and Spectralis OCT showed no significant differences. Due to the high correlation of ACA measurements between UBM and Spectralis OCT in the present study, UBM is expected to be a good tool for measuring anterior segment parameters.
