In this paper surface profile, roughness and hardness were experimented for study of tribological characteristic of automotive disk brake. In this work, 5 specimens were employed for roughness test as a function running distance. Despite the fact that brakes must operate under a variety of environmental conditions, most research has worked in laboratory with ideal condition. This paper investigated the average roughness of disk brakes which are actually operated in automotive. Average roughness decreased with running distance from 0 to about 10,000㎞ due to unevenly contact surfaces between disk brake and pads. But that has been increased with running distance from about 10,000 to 20,000㎞ due to loss of solid lubrication film and higher contact pressure between two rubbing surfaces.

This paper presents the numerical results of the the contact force and dulability with optimized design of lip seal. Using the finite element method based on the Mooney-Rivlin model, the contact force and dulability of lip seals were analyzed to illuminate the effect of various shaft interferences and the shape of lip seals. And the optimized design is performed through the Taguchi method. The results show that No.4 model is best model. And the inteference, angle and round is important factors.

This paper is for study on the leakage including with surface roughness in the valve stem system of diesel engine. This paper is for study on the oil leakage including with surface roughness in the valve stem system of diesel engine. In the leakage 1, the surface roughness was very dense, but leakage quantity of oil showed growing a trend. In the leakage 1 and 2, when the surface roughness was more scabrous, the control of oil leakage verified that fact is more advantageous. In the leakage 3, the sample verified more favorable for control of oil leakage that the surface roughness of valve stem was not soft. The experimental result of leakage 4 verified that lost a pocket effect that is a role for oil storage existing in the range of surface roughness in leakage 3. As a result, the oil leakage quantity knew increasing a tendency. In the showing from this experimental results, the condition of surface roughness being the most suitable for oil leakage control can conclude with 0.26~0.48㎛.

The O-ring seal is a essential component part in various mechanical apparatuses for the sealing. The contact force of O-rings is effected in environments of the O-ring seal, like that applied pressures, working temperatures and materials. Particularly the material of O-rings is a very important factor in severe condition such as high temperatures. But materials are properly selected because of the cost. So Bi-polymer O-rings that can satisfy both the mechanical characteristic and costs are proposed in this study. And the difference of the contact force of Bi-polymer O-rings and conventional O-rings with temperatures is found.

Due to better emission for CO2 and fine dust (PM10) than diesel and gasoline vehicles, LPG engine that is called low pollutant one is recently adopted for passenger car as well as commercial one and its demand gets growing year by year. The main part that should be replaced in the existing gasoline engine because of the lack of durability is intake and exhaust valves and their seats. This is because LPG has lower lubrication capability than gasoline and also supplying combustion chamber with gas state makes the durability of valve system weaker. Furthermore higher thermal load on exhaust valve system and the lack of combustion products are very tough conditions for adhesive wear. In this point, the effect on adhesive wear through the measurement of behavior change of valves according to seating has been evaluated and the solution to decrease it has been searched. So this study searched the behavior change of valve seating velocity through the redesign of cam profile ramp and confirmed the change of valve seating velocity contributed to decreasing engine wear and its noise.
연료 및 윤활유 배관용 클램프 브래킷의 응력 및 변형률 거동특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, we studies on the stress and strain behavior characteristics of clamp/bracket unit in fuel-lubricant pipe by FEM‘ Conventional clamp/bracket unit has the problem which can’t absorb torsion, expansion and contraction of pipe. So we propose a new model, the circular-bracket model. Displacement, strain energy density and von Mises stress with analyzed with three models(conventional model, circular-bracket model(Φ6, Φ10)). As a results, the circular-bracket model is superior to conventional model in strain behavior characteristics. But conventional model is better than circular-bracket model in strength safety. And we obtain a possibility of design to satisfy strain behavior and strength safety.
