Two experiments were carried out to get information about differences of fatty acid composition based on the sex of the Han-Woo tattles. Exp.1 14 females, 6 steers, and 10 males were used to determine the fatty acid composition of subcutaneous and perirenal fat. In composition of subcutaneous and perirenal fat, the contents of Palmitoleic acid(C_(18:1)) and Stearic acid(C_(18)) were signifinicant at the level of 5% by sex, but the others were not significant. On subcutaneous between the 12th and the 13th rib, females were higher than steers and bulls in the content of Palmitoleic acid(C_(16:1). However, on the content of Stearic acid, females were lower than steers and bulls by 5% significance level. Differences were not existed in the content of total unsaturated fatty acid. Fatty acid contents between the 6-7th rib and the 12-13th rib were similar. In location of subcutaneous fats, there were no differences by sex in the location of subcutaneous fats Exp.2 Five females of the Han-Woo cattles slaughted in Eun Yang slaughter house were used to determine the fatty acid composition of body fat. The results were as follow: Each fatty acid contents in subcutaneous fats were C_(16): 23.6%, C_(18): 7.4%, C_(18:1): 54.4%, TUFA: 62.5%, and C_(16): 24.0%, C_(18): 26.4%, C_(18:1): 43.6%, TUFA: 46.1% in perirenal fats. Comparing with two experiments, Exp. 2 was higher than Exp. 1 in Palmitoleic acid and TUFA contents, but not significantly. In case of the contents of fatty acid in the Han-Woo body fat were lower than those of Japanese Wagyu. In conclusion, it is necessary to improve the fatty acid composition of the Han Woo cattle. At the same time, the selection of sire and improvement of the feeding technique for the Han Woo cattle are urgently necessary.
