        백서 치주인대세포의 RANKL 발현에 대한 p38 MAPK의 역할

        Recent studies have demonstrated that human periodontal ligament cells express receptor activation of nuclear factor ${\kappa}B$ ligand (RANKL) which enhances the bone resorbing activity of osteoclasts differentiated from hematopoietic preosteoclasts. The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of p38 MAPK and JNK kinase upon regulating RANKL and OPG in response to $IL-1{\beta}$(l ng/ml) in rat periodontal ligament cells. Soluble RANKL was measured by immunoassay. The effects of p38 MAPK on RANKL and OPG expression was determined by RT-PCR. The results were as follows: 1. Periodontal ligament cells which stimulated by $IL-1{\beta}$ increased soluble RANKL synthesis by dose-dependent pattern. 2. p38 MAP kinase inhibitor (SB203580) showed regulation of soluble RANKL expression by dose-dependent manners. 3. p38 MAP kinase inhibitor (SB203580) regulated the expression of RANKL, but it dose regulate the expresseion of OPG. 4. JNK (c-jun $NH_2-terminal$ kinase) inhibitor (PD98059) did not regulate mRANKL and mOPG. These results suggested that p38 MAPK play a significant role in RANKL gene expression.

        The effect of Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans lipopolysaccharide on rat periodontal tissues

        치조골 흡수는 파골세포와 matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs)에 의한 골의 무기질과 유기질의 파괴로 일어나는 과정이다. 세균성 산물, 주로 내독소는 치은조직 내에서 염증세포의 유주, 사이토카인 생산, 조직파괴 효소 분비 및 파골세포 활성 등의 국소 면역반응을 유도한다. A. actinomycetemcomitans는 급진성 치주염의 원인 균주중 하나로 그 내독소는 치조골의 흡수와 관련된다. MMP-13은 세균성 산물이나 염증성 사이토카인의 자극에 의해 분비되며, 최근의 연구 결과들은 MMP-13이 치주질환의 진행과 골 흡수 과정에서 일정한 역할을 담당하는 것으로 보고하고 있으나, A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독소와 MMP-13과의 관련성에 대한 연구는 미미하다. 이에 이번 연구에서는 A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독소에 의한 MMP-13의 발현과 파골세포 형성을 세포배양을 통하여 관찰하였고, 백서 구개부 치은에 A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독소를 주입하여 흡수가 진행되고 있는 치조골에서 파골세포의 분화와 MMP-13의 발현을 TRAP 염색, 면역조직화학적 방법 등을 통해 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. MMP-13 mPNA의 발현은 A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독소 (1ug/ml)로 24시간 자극한 마우스 치주인대 섬유모세포에서 생리식염수로 자극한 세포에 비하여 약 2.6배 증가하였으며 마우스 대식세포에서는 TRAP 양성 세포가 대조군보다 더 많이 나타났다. A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독소를 주입한 백서 치주조직에서는 대조군보다 더 심한 골소실을 보였다. TRAP-양성 다핵 파골세포 유사세포는 치주염군과 대조군 모두 치조골에서 관찰되었다. TRAP-양성 다핵 파골세포 유사세포는 치주염군에서 대조군보다 유의하게 많은 숫자가 관찰되었으며, 치주염군에서 대조군보다 유의하게 많은 숫자가 관찰되었다. MMP-13 면역양성 반응은 치주염군에서 거친 골연을 갖는 치조골상에 배열된 조골세포와 그 인접한 치주인대에서 관찰되었으며 대조군에서는 MMP-13 면역 양성 반응이 치조골 표면에서만 일부 관찰되었다. 이상의 결과는 A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독속가 MMP-13의 발현을 증가시키며 파골세포의 활성을 통하여 치조골의 흡수를 유도함을 시사한다. 또한 A. actinomycetemcomitans 내독소 투여에 의한 실험적 모델은 백서에서 중등도의 골 소실을 동반한 만성 치주염 모델로 향후 치주질환 치료제의 효과를 평가하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있으리라 기대된다.

        강원도에서 음용되는 지하수의 수질 특성에 관한 조사 연구

        A survey to determine the characteristics of groundwater qualities in Kangwon-Do, which was divided 4 regions, was conducted from January to December in 1994. The results showed that the pesticides and chlorinated ethenes were not detected in the potable groundwater. But ca. 40% of the groundwaters were not satisfied the Korea Drinking Water Quality Standards because of the microbiological aspects, nitrates and Zinc, etc. The concentrations of pH, Zinc and consumption of KMnO₄ were not varied much, but the variation of the concentrations for chlorides and nitrates in each region were relatively high. Also the seasonal changes for the hardness and sulfates were within 10%, while the nitrates and chlorides were ranged from 15.5% to 18.0% in Chuncheon.

        강우시 흙탕물 발생 하천의 수질개선 효과분석

        We monitored the monthly change of water quality on the site of the nonpoint management area of Heanmyeon in Yang-gu County from 2009 to 2015. We found that SS, TP, and COD values were highly correlated with turbidity water concentration. Additionally, we monitored changes in turbidity using a real-time monitoring system. Using the data, the stage-discharge rating curve was calculated and we analyzed the correlations of COD, SS, and TP with the turbidity value. We found that SS concentration decreased by 48.1~83.6% under 10~30 mm rain fall and 72.1~86.6% under 30~50 mm rainfall as a result of comparing the event mean concentrations (EMCs) of SS with rainfall events that occurred in 2010 and 2014. We analyzed the rainfall and SS discharge rate per area based on the log data. Water quality was higher in 2014 than in 2010 during rainfall events. We concluded that the water quality at Mandae watershed was improved continuously by progress of non-point management policy.

        Achondroplasia환아의 치의학적 소견에 대한 증례보고

        Achondroplasia is characterized by undergrowth of long bones and cartilages and by low height. The name of this disease had been called classical chondrodystrophy, dyschondroplasia, chondrodystrophy and micromelia before Parrot reported the term of this disease as Achondroplasia. We are reporting in this paper on an 3-year and 4-month-old boy with achondroplasia. The dental findings are as follows : 1. Open bite and relatively mandibular prognathism were observed in the front teeth. 2. The size, number, shape, structure of the teeth were usual and the tongue was a little bigger than the normal. 3. The metacarpal bones were short and broadening. Mesial, distal border of the prox. phalanges were irregular and also trabecular pattern was abnormal in the hand-wrist P-A view. 4. According to lat. cephalometric analysis, the cranial basis was underdeveloped.

        우유병 우식증 아동에서 불소와 chlorhexidine양치액의 S.mutans와 Lactobacillus 억제 효과에 관한 실험적 연구

        Nursing caries is a specific form of rampant caries in preschool children. It is characterized by the initiation of upper anterior teeth, the development of primary molars while the usual absence of decay of lower anterior teeth. A causative factors are necessary for nursing caries to occur - host, substrate, microorganism and time. Removal of this causative factors is mostly effective to prevent nursing caries. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anticariogenic action toward Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus between 3 and 4-year old children with nursing caries. Fifteen subjects (male 8, female 7) were selected, ordered mouthrinsing once a day before going to bed with 0.05% fluoride and 0.1% chlorhexidine solution and plaque from their tooth surface were cultured and the colony was counted. The results of this study were as follows : 1. Comparing with pretreatment count, in the chlorhexidine-treated and the fluoride-reated group, S.mutans were reduced significantly in the carious and white spot lesion (p<0.05). While S.mutans level of fluoride-treated group was not significantly different from that of sound tooth surface. (p>0.05). 2. In the chlorhexidine-treated and the fluoride-treated group, S.mutans levels were recovered to original status after ceasing treatment. 3. In all groups, Lactobacillus were reduced during experimental periods in the carious and sound tooth surface while those of chlorhexidine-treated and fluoride-treated group had a tendency to increase after ceasing treatment. 4. The use of chlorhexidine and fluoride is effective to short-term reduction of S.mutans and lactobacillus in "high risk" children.

        H 유치원 아동의 우유병우식증 유병율에 관한 조사 연구

        The purpose of this study was to know the prevalence and possible etiology of nursing bottle caries in Korea. The study was performed as a preliminary procedure before doing a survey of whole country. Dental caies experience of the 209 children who enrolled in H kindergarten located in Seoul, Korea were examined, and the parents of the children were asked to answer the questionnaire about nursing and oral health habit and socioeconomic status, 71 parents replied the questionnaire. The results were as follows: 1. The nursing bottle caries prevalence of 209 children of H kindergarten(male 97, female 112, age :55-77months) is 13.4%. 2. Average weaning age of 28 children with nuring bottle caries is 21.7±9.7 month, that of 43 children without nursing caries was 18.3±10.6 month. 3. The children with nursing caries had more nocturnal nursing habit history than the children without nursing caries
