Busan had installde its first subway line in 1985. Busan's subway transportation have ran three subway lines since first start running in 1985. Heat energy created from increasing number of trains, long routes, and amenity equipments have internally polluted underground environment with hot temperature and high humidity. Hence, it is a reason that this study should be conducted in the base of analysis of issues related to HVAC system installed in subway, along with preliminary evidence of research in using natural underground water to reduce the heat gain.

Even metro subway have lots of benefits, such as advanced energy efficiency, substitution of ground transportations and improve air environment, the thermal environment of subway, which had opened earlier without air conditioning system, is getting worse because of increasing passenger number and decrepitude. Especially, they are spending lots of money to cooling and air conditioning system during summer season. According to this study, most thermal environments of the Subway line 1 stations in Busan have poor condition except some station. Therefore, in this study, Bujeon station, which is required to improve thermal environment, have been surveyed thermal environment of platforms. Also possibilities of applications of natural energy, which are night purge and ground water to get effect of platform using outdoor pre-cooling equipments, have been examined. Finally, this study has provided basic data for air cooling system design to improve thermal environment of subway station platforms through the results of examination.

The research was measured in office Building applying diffuser for cold air distribution. Based on the measured data, it is aimed at the distribution of indoor thermal environment and to determine the temperature distribution around the diffuser. Also, research investigated characteristics of the building cold air distribution system and prediction of condensation region on the diffuser. The results, the indoor temperature was maintained below 26℃.

Cold air distribution system has some problem like condensation. so experiments were conducted about cold air distribution system for preventing of condensation. In order to prevent the condensation, it was performed with change in chamber temperature(26℃,28℃,30℃), chamber humidity(50%,70%), supply air temperature(10℃,12℃,14℃) and supply air velocity(2m/s,4m/s). So that we found condition of condensation and clearly identified the problem.

This study is to examine the possibility of pre-cooling at platform. Through measurement of the thermal environment of Bujeon Subway platforms, review the potential use of ground-water and night purge. The results of this research can improve the thermal environment pre-cooling of the design.
