The influence of function of testis on thyroid gland was estimated with imature male rats administrated 20㎎ of testosterone propionate with each interval of 10 days, and weight and histological change of thyroid gland for 50 days were compared with control group. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Weight of thyroid gland had a tendency to be increased according to the flowing of time after treatment and was significantly different after 30 days treatment. 2. Follicle size had a tendency to decrease as increasing time after treatment and was significantly reduced after 30 days (P$lt;0.05) and after 40 days (P$lt;0.01) treatment. 3. Height of follicular epithelia was significantly increased after 30 days (P$lt;0.05) and after 40 days (P$lt;0.01) treatment. 4. Histological change of thyroid gland showed a columnar phenomenon of follicular epithelia after 20 days, a reduction of follicle after 30 days and an enlarged nuclei of follicular epithelial cells after 40 days treatment and the change became through the time passed after treatment.
대기온도에 따른 300 MW 석탄가스화복합발전 성능특성

In this study, the output and thermal efficiency of Taean Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Plant were calculated by using the manufacturer's basic design data and the performance correction factor for each atmospheric temperature, and the actual performance was measured at summer and winter representative points. The results were compared with the calculated values to verify their validity. The thermal efficiency is the highest at around $15^{\circ}C$ and lower at lower temperature and higher temperature. This is similar to that of natural gas Combined Cycle Power Plant, but the thermal efficiency has drastically decreased due to the increase of power consumption of the air separation unit at relatively high temperature. The output is highest in the range of 5 to $15^{\circ}C$, and is kept almost constant at below $5^{\circ}C$ and declines above $15^{\circ}C$. The reason why the output does not increase at low temperatures is that the torque limit of the shaft is activated by the increase of the flow rate due to the nitrogen injection of the gas turbine combustor. In order to improve the performance in the future, efforts should be made to improve the power generation output and to reduce the power consumption of the air separation unit in summer. 본 연구에서는 태안석탄가스화복합발전을 대상으로 대기온도에 따른 출력 및 열효율 변화를 제작사의 기본설계자료와 대기온도별 성능보정계수를 이용하여 계산하였으며, 하계 및 동계 대표지점에서 실제 성능을 측정하고 그 결과를 계산값과 비교하여 타당성을 확인하였다. 열효율은 $15^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 가장 높고 이보다 저온이나 고온에서는 낮아지는데 이는 천연가스복합발전과 유사하였으나, 상대적으로 고온구간에서는 공기분리장치의 소비동력증가로 열효율이 급격히 하강하였다. 또한 출력은 $5{\sim}15^{\circ}C$ 구간에서 가장 높고 $5^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 거의 일정하게 유지되며 $15^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는 하락한다. 저온에서 출력이 증가하지 않는 이유는 가스터빈 연소기 질소주입에 따른 유량 증가로 축의 토크 제한이 작동하기 때문이다. 향후 성능향상을 위해서는 하계에 발전출력향상 및 공기분리장치 소비동력 저감 등의 노력이 필요하다.

본 고는 폐기물 매립지반의 지반개량을 위하여 1992년 3월 16일부터 1992년 10월 25일까지 수행된 동다짐공사 결과에 대한 연구사례이며, 개량대상지역은 대전시 갑천변에 위치하는 폐기물 매립부지로 1983년부터 1989년까지 주로 도시생활 쓰레기, 연탄재, 구조물 해체 잔해물 및 일부 산업폐기물로 매립되어 형성된 지역이다. 동다짐 공사는 2개 지점에서 시험동다짐을 시행하여 그 결과를 기준으로 수행되었으며, 개량효과 분석 및 품질관리를 위하여 각종 현장확인 시험 및 지반거동 계측을 수행하였다. 또한 동다짐시 인접된 구조물에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 진동측정을 시행하였다. 제반 현장시험 및 계측자료 분석결과 전체적으로 지반의 강도증가 및 압축효과가 양호한 것으로 확인되어 본 지역의 폐기물 매립지반에 대한 동다짐공법 적용은 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 향후 본 지역과 유사한 폐기물 매립지반에 대한 동다짐공법 적용시 참고가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This article is a case study of the ground improvement project which was carried out for manmade landfill. The project area is located near to Kapchun, Teajon and composed of the municipal wastes dumped, demolished building debris, coal ash and industrial waste made between 1983 and 1989. The DDC(dynamic deep compaction) based on the results of the test compaction at two representative locations was carried out from March 16, 1992 to Oct. 25, 1992. Field measurements and laboratory tests were carried out for ground improvement assessment and quality control for the DDC(dynamic deep compaction) work. From the results of field measurements and laboratory tests, it was found that the DDC work was successful: waste landfill was compressed considerably (${\fallingdotseq}$ 15% of full depth); and the strength was increased satisfactorily (${\fallingdotseq}$ 100% of original penetration resistance), Also, it is expected that the results of this work could be a guide to the future DDC work with the similar ground conditions, i.e. man-made landfills.

Cognitive Radio(CR) is the technology that allocates the frequency by using dynamic spectrum access. We proposed a model to calculate the optimal level of the cognitive radiotelegraph, where secondary users opportunistically share the spectrum with primary users through the spectrum sensing. When secondary user with cognitive radio detects the arrival of a primary user in its current channel, the secondary user moves to the idle channel or be placed in the virtual queue. We assume that the primary users have finite buffers and the population of secondary users is finite. Using a two-dimensional Makov model with preemptive priority queueing, we could derive the blocking and waiting probability as well as the optimal level of cognitive radiotelegraph under a various range of parameter circumstances.

The incidence of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) has been estimated worldwide to range from 1.7 to 75 cases per 100,000. There are many treatments for ARDS, but only the low tidal volume strategy is based on strong clinical evidence from randomized clinical trials. The efficacy of extracorporeal life support (ECLS) in adults remains controversial. Ongoing clinical trials and research have shown a benefit for its use to salvage severe ARDS patients that are in failure with conventional treatment. We encountered a 41-year-old woman who developed ARDS induced by pneumococcal pneumonia. Despite conventional mechanical ventilation in the emergency room, severe hypoxia remained. We treated the patient immediately with ECLS. The patient has almost fully recovered, and was discharged from a 177-day stay at our hospital. (Tuberc Respir Dis 2007;63:526-530)
