일루미네이션디자인을 통한 디자인 교육 실행 연구 : 성경 텍스트를 활용한 디자인 교과목 개발 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 부산크리스마스트리문화축제의 일루미네이션디자인 개발 프로젝트를 통해 성경의 텍스트를 활용하여 디자인 교육을 진행한 실행연구이다. 부산크리스마스트리문화축제는 부산의 구도심인 광복동거리에서 매년 연말에 진행되는 대표적인 겨울축제로서, 일루미네이션이 주를 이루는 빛축제이다. 빛축제를 위한 일루미네이션디자인은 해당 축제의 주제와 내용적 콘텐츠를 심도있게 연구하여 이를 빛조형물의 외형에 담아내는 일이며, 형태와 색, 빛소재의 다양한 물리적 특성, 연출 등을 고려하여 디자인 하는 것으로, 디자인 교육의 새로운 콘텐츠로 적합하다. 교육의 측면에 있어서 새로운 교육 콘텐츠의 개발은 늘 필요하며 특히 창조성과 독창성이 강조되는 디자인 교육에 있어서는 더욱 그러한데, 일루미네이션에서 활용되는 빛소재의 물리적ž조형적 특성은 이를 충족시킨다. 본 연구는 2014년도 2학기와 2015년 1학기에 동서대학교 산학협력형 디자인 수업으로 진행된 '일루미네이션디자인'교과목을 통해 부산크리스마스트리문화축제를 위한 일루미네이션 프로젝트를 실행함으로서, 일루미네이션디자인을 새로운 디자인 교육 콘텐츠로 개발하고 또한 성경의 텍스트를 디자인 교육의 콘텐츠로 활용하는 아이디어를 제시하고자 하였다. 연구의 방법과 내용은 첫째로, 일루미네이션의 개념과 특성을 고찰하여 빛소재를 활용한 새로운 디자인 교육 콘텐츠로서의 일루미네이션디자인을 제안하였다. 둘째로 내용을 시각화 하는 유형의 디자인 조형 교육 콘텐츠로서 성경 텍스트의 대중성, 서사성, 소재다양성, 조형성, 스토리텔링, 창의성의 특성을 기술하였으며, 컨셉을 시각화된 외형으로 발현시키는 디자인 교육 콘텐츠로 적합성을 설명하였다. 셋째로 실행 프로젝트인 부산크리스마스트리축제의 일루미네이션 영역과 범위, 분류, 스토리텔링 전개를 서술하였다. 넷째로 일루미네이션디자인 교과목의 실행에 관하여 교육 목표와 기대효과, 교육 방법과 평가 방법, 주제와 스토리텔링 전개, 그리고 프로젝트의 실행을 통해 개발된 일루미네이션디자인의 결과물과 각 조형물의 성경 텍스트 시각화 내용을 서술하였다. 성경 콘텐츠를 활용한 부산크리스마스트리문화축제 일루미네이션 개발 프로젝트는 디자인 교육 콘텐츠로써 조형 교육 뿐 아니라 디자인을 통해 대중의 참여와 소통을 경험하는 디자인의 교육적 실천으로서의 의미를 가지며, 학생이 지역의 문화 창조에 기여하는 기회를 제공하고, 학교와 지역사회의 협업을 통하여 지역사회와 문화에 대한 자긍심을 가지게 하였다. 더불어 이 디자인 교육프로그램의 결과는 일루미네이션 산업에서의 디자인의 기여 가치를 강화하도록 제안하는 데에 기여하였다 할 수 있다. This study is based on using texts found in the Bible to build the lights in the Busan Christmas Tree Festival and applying it to the formative design education. The festival is located in the city of Busan in the Gwangbok area in a street adorned with religious landmarks. It is a classical winter festival that happens at the end of every year with the Christmas lights being the main attraction. It is necessary to do an in depth study of the theme and content of this festival in order to include those concepts in the appearance of the light sculptures. The various physical attributes, form and color, the direction and other aspects of light mu be considered to create the designs. Therefore, it is possible to say that illumination is a suitable new content for design education. There is a constant need to develop new educational content for design education in schools. Subjects of design education require creativity and originality and illumination design, studying the properties of light, contains both. In the second semester of 2014 and the first semester of 2015, the Busan Christmas Tree Festival was a project given to a design class where students needed to cooperate with firms on an "Illumination Design". This was the beginning of developing Illumination design as a new content for design education and using Bible texts was the means to learn formative design. The method and content of this study is divided into four parts. The first part, consists of the concepts and attributes of illumination to suggest illumination design as a new content for design education. The second, describes the visual contents of formative design education, such as public appeal, narrativity, variations in material use, formativeness, storytelling and creativity of Bible text use. It is an explanation and expression of a visual concept through design. The third section, analyzes the field, classification, and storytelling development of the illumination in the Busan Christmas Tree Festival. Lastly, the fourth part, describes the goals and expected results of an illumination class in design schools, the teaching and evaluation methods, and the development of themes and storytelling. Through the light festival project, visualization methods of illumination design were developed, specifically in the interpretation of Bible texts using lights. Using Bible contents in the illumination project of the Busan Christmas Tree Festival gave the students an opportunity to create a local culture. Through the cooperation of the school and local community, the students were able to gain a sense of pride for their community and culture, but was also given an opportunity to communicate with the local people while building their portfolio with a real life case. The results of this design education program which may have contributed to propose to enhance the contribution value of the design in the illumination industry.

`자동기술법`에 의한 캐릭터 디자인 개발에 관한 연구

본 연구는 캐릭터 디자인의 방법으로 무의식의 시각적 표현이자, 초현실주의 작가들의 표현행위로 잘 알려진 `자동기술법(Automatisme)`을 통한 캐릭터 디자인 개발에 관한 연구이다. 작가의 개인적 무의식을 통해 형성된 캐릭터는 개성적이면서도 그가 속한 문화와 집단의 정서를 반영하게 되는데, 이에 성공한 캐릭터는 대중의 공감과 사랑을 얻어 `장기캐릭터(long-term character)`라 불리며 폭넓게 성장하고 장수한다. 본 연구는 먼저 무의식의 표현 및 `자동기술법`에 대한 이론을 기술하고, 정신질환자 및 초현실주의자의 작품에서 `자동기술법`에 의한 캐릭터 디자인의 개발 근거를 제시한다. 다음으로 성공한 캐릭터 디자인의 형성 과정과 그 캐릭터에 대한 분석을 통해 `자동기술법`을 활용한 캐릭터 개발의 과정을 파악한 후, 본 연구자의 무의식에 대한 `자동기술법`을 통해 `왕따클럽` 캐릭터들이 형성되는 과정을 기술하고 그 결과로서의 캐릭터를 개발, 제안한다. 이 연구를 통해 `자동기술법`을 활용한 무의식의 시각적 표현이 캐릭터 디자인을 개발하는 독창적인 한 방법임을 구체적으로 밝힌다. This research is unconscious visual expression and research about character design formation possibility through `Automatisme` known well as expression conduct of surrealism writers by method of character design. On the Character designed through private unconscious of designer, he reflects emotion of culture under the rule of his society and unconscious of group. The character that succeed hereupon gets public`s sympathy and love, and is called `Long-term character` and grows comprehensively and lives long. This study is processed by four steps. First, It describes the expression types of unconsciousness and theory about `Automatisme`. Second, It finds the possibilities of creating new characters from mental patient`s works and the surrealism works formed by `Automatisme`. Third, It discovers by analyzing the creating processed character itself of succeeding character design, which is made by `Automatisme`. Finally it proposed the creating process and design character `Wangta-club` made by researcher, myself with `Automatisme` This `Wangta-club` character shows the possibility of character design by `Automatisme` as a creative character design process.

융합디자인 교과과정을 적용한 대학 교양 창의성교육 수업 만족도에 관한 연구 -부산 동서대학교『디자인과 창의적 발상』을 중심으로-

현재 많은 국내대학에서 창의성 및 융합과목을 시행하고 있다. 그런데 이들 융합과 창의성교육에 관한연구자들의 결과를 보면, 불만족을 표명하고 있다는점이 문제이다. 그 이유로는 현재 대학에서 개설하고있는 창의성과목 특히 교양과목은 대부분 글쓰기 중심의 교과를 들고 있다는 데 있다. 여기에 창의성 개발과 그 효과를 높이기 위하여, 부산 사상구에 있는 D대학교에서는 시각적 사고를 중심으로 한 교양필수 과목인 < 디자인과 창의적 발상 >을 개설하게 되었다. 그 창의성개발 효과와 수업만족도의 결과가 본 연구이다. 이러한 본 소고의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 우선 1학년을 중심으로 공과대학 7개 학부 1042명을 중심으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 통계 분석은 SAS(Version 9.4, SAS Institute, Cary, NC)을 이용하였다. 그 결과< 디자인과 창의적 발상 > 수업의 만족도가 높게 나왔으며 더불어 창의성 개발과 수업만족도를 높이기 위해서는 글쓰기와 함께 융합디자인적 시각적 사고를 적극적으로 활용한 프로젝트형 수업을 진행하는 것이 타당함을 결론으로 얻을 수 있었다. The most commonly used words when describing educational contents in university today are "convergence" and "creativity". However, many of them failed to produce satisfactory results according to studies carried out on this subject. Most of these classes are rated as unsatisfactory. At University D in Sasang-gu, Busan, they introduced a class called "Design and Creative Thinking" as a required program in their curriculum and created a creativity subject with a focus on the visual thinking process. This study includes the results of the survey conducted of the level of satisfaction and benefits of this class. we conducted a survey and applied SAS (Version 9.4, SAS Institute, Cary, NC) for statistical analysis. As a result, we concluded that project-based classes using both writing and visual thinking as a medium for learning is best suited for these subjects and it can help improve the level of satisfaction and creativity for students.

한·중 전통주택 연구를 통한 현대적 주거공간 개발 - 조선시대 상류주택과 명·청시대 `사합원`을 중심으로 -

이 연구는 한·중 간의 전통적 주거 형태를 분석하여, 이를 현대적 주거 공간인 아파트형 주거공간에 적용할 수 있는 운영 법칙을 제시함으로써, 전통문화와 현대적 수요의 융합이라는 시대적 요구에 응답하고자 한다. 한국의 경우, 조서시대 상류주택의 디자인 특성을 토대로 개방성/폐쇄성, 관입성, 연속성, 가변성, 생태성의 요소들을, 중국은 동시대 전통주택인 사합원의 특성을 토대로 대칭성, 영역성, 방사성, 연속성, 장식성, 생태성의 요소들을 추출하여 현대적 아파트 평면에 적용하는 방안을 개발하였다. 두 나라의 전통적 주택의 원리를 일반화하여 이를 현대적 주거 공간인 아파트형 주택에 응용하는 것은, 전통적인 주거 문화의 계승과 새로운 시대에 적합한 개발의 개념으로서 그 의미가 있으며, 또한 서로 다른 전통적 주거 문화에 대한 이해와 소통을 위한 참고자료가 될 수 있다. This study is based on the analysis of plane and space research of Peking Quadrangle which was the typical type of China`s traditional residence and Han-ok, the upper class dwelling of Seoul, grasping the ideological and cultural background of the traditional residence, as well as the characteristic, inter-community, diversity and mutual relationships of the two countries. By extracting the operating principles and methods of the traditional residence, and by suggesting the design principles which can be applied in contemporary apartment houses, this study shows the direction for both modernization and succession of the traditional housings. Korean apartment is designed based on openness & closeness, spatial continuity, flexibility and ecological application, while Chinese apartment on symmetry of plan, hierarchy, ornament, flexibility and ecological concept different from Korean application. This not only will be an inheritance and development of the traditional residential culture, but also supply a desirable example for the application of the traditional civilization of other regions.
