자궁내막종의 감별진단을 위한 난소낭종 환자의 혈청 Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) 농도의 진단적 유용성에 대한 연구

Objective: To evaluate the usefulness of serum concentrations of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) of patients with ovarian cysts for differential diagnosis of endometrioama. Method: From Jan. 2003 to Dec. 2004, preoperative serum MIF levels were assessed in 28 women with endometrioma, 32 with benign epithelial tumor, 23 with functional and simple cysts, 22 with benign mature cystic teratoma, and 25 women without ovarian tumor as control. MIF levels were determined using an ELISA (Quantikine Human MIF immunoassay, R&D Systems, Inc., USA). Results: Mean MIF levels were higher in all groups with benign tumors than control (all p<0.01), but there was no significant difference between benign tumor groups (p=0.95). There was no significant correlation between MIF levels and tumor volume, body mass index (BMI) (p=0.635, 0.674 respectively) Serum MIF level had significant correlation with count of WBC and neutrophils (p=0.008, 0.024 respectively), but had no correlation with count of lymhocytes and monocytes (p=0.688, 0.294 respectively). Conclusions: This study showed a marked increase in MIF concentrations in the peripheral blood of patients with endometrioma, but there was no significant difference with other benign tumors. Serum MIF level had significant correlation with count of WBC and neutrophils. These suggest serum MIF level has no usefulness for differential diagnosis of endometrioma from other benign ovarian cysts.

The purpose of this study was to develop a faster analysis method of PCBs in transformer oil and to compare this to the Korean official method. The Korean official method is composed of 4 steps; alkaline digestion, sulfuric acid extraction, clean-up with silica-gel column, and concentration by nitrogen blowing. On the other hand, the proposed fast PCBs analysis method is composed of simpler steps; one-step column separation (Rapiana) and the following concentration by nitrogen blowing. Both methods were compared by analyzing same samples including CRMs. GC/ECD equipped with dual column was used for PCBs analysis. PCB-189 and PCB-209 were used as surrogates and TCMX (tetrachloroxylene) was used as internal standard. Surrogate recovery (75-120%) obtained by the proposed fast analysis method turned out to be better than that of the Korean official method (63-85%). The fast PCBs analysis method is faster than the Korean official method (3 hours vs 20 hours) and also can save labor and analysis cost.

Since Korea became a member of WTO, many agricultural products have been imported into country. As a consequence, local self-governing bodies have been developing many unique new agricultural brands, to compete with similar products imported from other countries. The purpose of this study is to review the present condition of agricultural brands, to point out the problems of the agricultural brand, and to provide progressive new methods of marketing for agricultural brand names. To achieve this purpose, this study deals with the comparisons of the agricultural brands, in connection with naming, identification, information, royalties, and associative image, as an intrinsic function of brand marketing. It also deals with communications, public relation strategies, and customer relations, as a derivative function of brand marketing. This study provides new methods of agricultural marketing strategies. The new methods are systematic, professional, and progressive. This study suggests that those who work in the field of agricultural production and agricultural delivery industries understand that their brands` name is important, and continued local government support is needed. This study shows these new methods of agricultural marketing strategies can make it possible for brands to have more valuable.

In this paper, we propose a describes how to detect a false iris image by inserting watermark into a iris image. The existing method, which inserts the watermark into the entire iris image to detect a fake iris, has a problem that can evade it by segmenting iris region of an iris image. The purpose of overcoming the problem, this paper proposes a new fake iris detection technique based on digital watermark. It first searches a central point of an iris image, divide the image into blocks with respect to the point. executes Discrete Cosine Transform, inserts watermark into the blocks, and then verifies an iris image using NC(Normalized Correlation). In the experiments, we confirm the robustness for attacks – crop and JPEG.

본 연구는 최근 논란이 된 JYP의 여성청소년 교복광고에 대한 기호학적 분석이다. 분석대상은 교복광고에 대한 포스터와 영상광고물이다. 연구 분석방법은 소쉬르기호론과 퍼스의 기호학이다. 이들의 기호론을 바탕으로 광고 기호 제작론(signification-encoding process)과 광고기호 수용론(interpretation-decoding process)에 적용하고 나아가 바르트의 신화와 이데올로기까지 확장시켜 분석하였다. 기호분석의 특징에서 볼 때, 본 연구는 연구자의 주관적인 해석에 입각한 자의적(arbirariness)이고 다의적(polysemy)인 해석에서 객관적 의미 부여에 접근하려고 하였다. This study is a semiotic analysis of JYP female youth uniforms advertising the recent controversy. Analysis ranges from the poster and video advertising on uniforms advertising. Research method is based on semiology of Saussure and Semiotics of Peirce. The based on these theories was applied to a signification-encoding process and interpretation-decoding process of advertising. and further analysis extends to the myth and ideology of Barthes. On viewing from the aspect of the semiotics, this study was tried to approach the objective interpretation of the meaning given in arbitrariness and ambiguous(polysemy) based on the subjective interpretation of the researcher.
2011년 2월 11일 대한해협에서 발달한 극저기압 : 민감도 수치 실험 연구

2011년 2월 11일 대한해협에서 발달한 태풍 형태의 극저기압의 발달 메커니즘을 이해하기 위하여 WRF 모델을 이용한 일련의 민감도 실험을 수행하였으며, 이 민감도 실험에서는 ‘재시작(restart)’ 시간을 각각 다르게 설정하여 표면 현열 및 잠열 플럭스 그리고 응결 열과 관련된 물리 과정을 발달 단계별로 차단하였다. 민감도 실험 결과, 응결 열이 극저기압의 발달에 있어 가장 중요한 물리 과정이었으며, 직접적으로 극저기압의 급격한 발달을 이끌어내었다. 한편, 표면 열 플럭스는 하부 대기 성층을 불안정하게 만들어 적운 대류가 쉽게 일어날 수 있도록 주위 대기를 변형시켜 극저기압의 발달에 간접적으로 영향을 줌으로써 초기 발달 단계에서 특히 중요하였다. To clearly understand the development mechanism of a typhoon-like polar low developed over the Korea Strait on 11 February 2011, a series of sensitivity experiments was conducted using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model, in which physical processes of surface sensible and/or latent heat fluxes and condensational heating were turned on/off at various times by setting the restart time differently. The results of the sensitivity experiments show that condensational heating is the most crucial physical process, directly leading to the rapid deepening of the polar low. The surface heat fluxes, however, are crucial particularly in early development stage in that they affect the development of the polar low indirectly through the deformation of the environmental atmosphere favorable for cumulus convection, by making stratification of the atmosphere unstable in the lower layer.
