The EMS/LIM driven system, called UTM-01 has been under development for LRT type urban transit applications. At the present time, the 1st vehicle of UTM-01(a two vehicle system) is undergoing various tests on the 1.1㎞ test track at the KIMM premises in Taejon. This paper describes the design, characteristics and test results of the Levitation/Guidance, the Propulsion/Braking System and the Leakage Flux for 1st vehicle of UTM-01.

The researches on the direct drive system, which directly transfers axle load of the traction motor to wheels, have been developed as a next generation drive system in Japan and Europe. As a result of excluding couplings and gear units, the direct drive system has advantages on the bogie mount space to be smaller sized, lower noisy, more efficient and less weighted than the conventional drive system - indirect drive system. Since the simplification of the direct drive system design depends on the design of the traction motors, the researches on the direct drive system with focusing on the traction motors get started. The advantages/disadvantages of direct drive system, types, structures, cooling systems and interfaces of the traction motors are presented on this paper. Furthermore, the development of other countries on the electric equipments of the next generation railway vehicles are discussed and the necessity & requirement for developing new concepts of traction motors are assured.

멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 즐길 수 있는 스마트기기는 다양한 멀티미디어 기능과 인터넷 경험을 제공하는 기술 집약적 제품으로 그 활용도가 무궁무진하기에 우리 생활에 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 그에 따라 현재 다양한 연령층이 스마트기기를 이용하고 있으며 영유아 역시 스마트기기의 각종 어플리케이션에 노출되어 있다. 때문에 단순히 보고 듣는 동화 어플리케이션에서 벗어나 영유아를 위한 스마트기기 어플리에키션의 영역을 확장하고 영유아와 스마트기기 콘텐츠의 상호작용을 통해 자기표현과 의사소통채널의 확장이라는 긍정적인 영향력을 미칠 수 있도록 하는 ‘3D를 적극 활용한 인터렉티브 동화’를 제작-개발할 필요성이 대두되어 <클래비북>을 개발하였다. 다양한 인터렉티브 이벤트와 3D의 동화세상 구현을 통해 유아가 직접 신체(손가락)를 활용하여 학습하게 하여 창의성을 향상시키고 전인적 인적자원으로 성장하는데 도움을 주며 긍정적인 책읽기 효과를 유도할 수 있도록 하는 <클래비북>의 전반적인 제작 단계와 기술을 연구한다. Smart device is a technology-intensive product providing various multimedia functions and internet experiences, and has brought about a huge change to our life with its massive usage. Thus, presently all the age groups are using smart device, and little children are also exposed to various kinds of smart device applications. Accordingly, the need to develop and produce ‘Interactive fairy tales actively using D3’ that can positively influence little children by expanding their self-expression and communication channels came to the fore, and as a result,〈Clabbi Book〉 was developed. By implementing various interactive events and the world of 3D fairy tales, he tries to study the overall production process and technology of 〈Clabbi Book〉 that can help little children to improve their creativity by using their fingers, grow as holistic human resources, and read books positively.

Recently, because of the depletion of fossil fuels and the environmental pollution by using fossil fuels and harmfulness of atomic power plants. the interests concerning new and renewable energy resources are rising increasingly. And of all new and renewable energy sources the PV generation systems are recognized as the most useful and desirable renewable energy source in allowance for installation conditions. In this development, the 3kWp photovoltaic power generation system is realized to verify the performance of the 3kWp PCS developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI). The photovoltaic array used in this system is composed of 60 modules of 50Wp capacity. The developed system is tested as procedures and items of test regulation recognized by governmen and the experimental results show the excellent electrical characteristics. Now, the 3kWp PCS developed is installed in the PV model house built in HHI plant and is being tested for practical use commercialization.
