        악교정 수술을 위한 한국 성인 정상교합자의 경조직 기준치

        This study was performed to evaluate hard tissue cephalometric norms for Korean adults which can be implemented in surgical orthodontic treatment planning using selected horizontal reference plane especially for Koreans (Male: $SN-7.5^{\circ}$, Female: $SN-9.0^{\circ}$) and a simplified analytical method. 70 males and 70 females consisting of freshmen of Yonsei University from 1996 to 1997 and students from the Dental College of Yonsei University were chosen according to clinical examination and cephalometric analysis. The samples had normal profiles, normal anteroposterior skeletal relationship(ANB angle of $0^{\circ}$ to $4^{\circ}$ and Wits appraisal of -4.0mm to 0mm), and Class I molar and canine relationship. They had no missing or supernumerary teeth and had no experience of orthodontic or prosthetic treatment. After the selection of 23 landmarks and the construction of horizontal and vertical reference lines, 22 skeletal and 12 dental measurements were taken. These consisted of vertical and horizontal linear measurements and angular measurements. The results were as follows. 1. Mean and standard deviation of the measurements were calculated for males and females. 2. Most of the skeletal vertical measurements, and maxillary and mandibular length were bigger in males than females. Whereas anterior facial height ratio(N-ANS/ANS-Me) as well as maxillary and mandibular antero-posterior position in relation to the vertical reference line(N-perpendicular) showed no signigicant difference between sexes. 3. Maxillary and mandibular dental antero-posterior position in relation to the vertical reference line(N-perpendicular) showed no significant difference between sexes. 4. The upper incisor show(U1-Stms) was $2.1{\pm}1.7mm$ in males and $3.3{\pm}1.7mm$ in females. In this study, hard tissue cephalometric norms of Korean adults for orthognathic surgery were obtained.

These consisted of vertical and horizontal linear measurements and angular measurements. The results were as follows. 1. Mean and standard deviation of the measurements were calculated in males and females. 2. Vertical measurements were comparably bigger in males than females whereas anterior facial height ratio(sN-Sn/Sn-sMe) and lower anterior facial height ratio(Sn-Stms/Stmi-sMe) showed no significant difference between sexes. 3. Most of the horizontal measurements in relation to the vertical reference line(G-perpendicular) showed no significant difference between sexes. 4. Nasofacial angle, columellar angle, nasolabial angle and facial contour angle showed no significant difference between sexes. 5. The upper and lower lip were positioned about $-1.0{\pm}2.0mm$ and $+1.0{\pm}2.0mm$ in relation to the Ricketts' esthetic line in both sexes. In this study, soft tissue cephalometric norms of Korean adults for orthognathic surgery were obtained.

        산사(山査)가 노화유발(老化誘發) 흰쥐의 항산화능(抗酸化能)에 미치는 영향(影響)

        Objectives : CRATAEGII FRUCTUS(山査) is known as the substance which delays aging by the antioxidant effects. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of CRATAEGII FRUCTUS(山査) on antioxidant enzyme activities such as Thiobarbituric acid reactive substance(TBARS), Superoxide dismutase(SOD), Catalase(CAT), Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-px) in rat erythrocytes and blood plasma. Methods : Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 3 groups, Normal group (supplied enough water and feeds only, Normal Group), D-galatose administered group(injected D-galatose 50mg/kg, 1time/day for 6 weeks, Control Group) and CRATAEGII FRUCTUS(山査) administered group (D-galactose 50mg/kg and CRATAEGII FRUCTUS(山査) extracts 85.0mg/200g 1time/day for 6 weeks, SS Group). Rats were sacrificed and TBARS, SOD, CAT, GSH-px, neutral fat and cholesterol were measured in rat erythrocytes and blood plasma. Results : There was no significant difference in the level of TBARS in the blood plasma between each experimental group. Red blood cell SOD activities were significantly different in each group. They were significantly decreased in the Control group compared to those of Normal and there was an increasing phenomenon in the SS group compared to the Control group. There was a significant difference in the activities of the red blood cell - glutathione peroxides in each group. There was a significant increase in the SS group compared to the Control group. Red blood cell catalase activities was no significant difference in each group. Plasma total lipid concentration was significantly different in each group. It was significantly increased in the Control group compared with the Normal group and it was decreasing in the SS group compared to the control group. Plasma triglyceride was not significantly different in each group. Plasma total cholesterol and Plasma HDL -cholesterol concentrations in the blood plasma were not significantly different in each group. Conclusions : According to the above results, it is considered that CRATAEGII FRUCTUS(山査) is effective in inhibiting lipid peroxides and increasing the activities of antioxidative(anti aging) enzyme in D-galactose induced aging rat.

        구강 내부 맥파 계측을 위한 센서 시스템 연구

        In this paper, we propose a novel sensor system for measuring the arterial pulse in an oral cavity. In order to measure pulse wave in oral cavity, the proposed system is designed with reflection type arterial wave sensor, not by using transmission type arterial pulse wave sensor. Driving circuit through pulse current is designed for solving self-heating problem of LED. The effectiveness of the proposed sensor system is compared with pulse wave between pulse wave of oral cavity and other body parts as well as with characteristic measurements. The experiment shows that the proposed sensor system is adaptive to capturing consecutive and meaningful biometric signals through the variation of pulse wave changes in oral cavity when exercising. The study result expects to design and develop mobile sensors which could be adapted to healthcare devices.

        정상교합자의 치축경사도에 관한 $45^{\circ}$ 측모두부방사선 계측학적 연구

        The development of good arch form, the orientation of the dentition with relation to the craniofacial skeleton and the establishment of correct relationship of axial inclination of upper and lower teeth are required in normal occlusion, but different teeth present different degrees of axial inclination. The purpose of this study was to investigate the axial inclination of upper and lower teeth by analyzing $45^{\circ}$ oblique and $90^{\circ}$ cephalometric roentgenograms of 35 Korean males and 34 females with normal occlusion. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Mean and standard deviation of mesiodistal axial inclination of upper and lower teeth related to palatal plane and occlusal plane were obtained. 2. Mesiodistal axial inclination of upper first premolar was nearly perpendicular to palatal plane, and the axis of lower first premolar was nearly perpendicular to occlusal plane. 3. There was no difference in the mesiodistal axial inclination of anteriorly positioned teeth between the three groups: third molar eruption into good alignment (Group 1), third molar impaction or partial eruption (Group 2), third molar agenesis (Group 3). 4. There were low correlationships only between the axial inclination of central incisor and the mesiodistal axial inclination of canine and first premolar, but no correlationships between central incisor and posterior teeth behind first premolar.

        PbTe 열전재료에 형성된 HgTe 나노개제물의 석출거동: 초기 격자 불일치의 형성, 이론적 계산 및 실험적 증명

        A highly strained nanostructure comprising crystallographically aligned HgTe nanoinclusions and a surrounding PbTe matrix has been synthesized using a precipitation process of supersaturated HgTe-PbTe alloys. From the early precipitation stage, HgTe nanoinclusions take disk shape, which is transformed from initial HgTe nuclei, although there is no lattice constant difference of the two end components at standard state. As a primary reason for the morphological transformation of the initial spherical HgTe nuclei to HgTe nanodisks, the induced lattice mismatch is suggested. On the condition that the HgTe nanodisks maintain perfect coherent nature with PbTe matrix, the stress-free lattice constant of constrained HgTe nanodisks has been calculated based on the defined concept of the strain-induced tetragonality, the linear elasticity and the actual measurement in HRTEM images.

        국부 통계 특성을 이용한 적응 MAP 방식의 고해상도 영상 복원 방식

        본 논문에서는 국부 통계 특성을 이용한 적응 MAP 방식의 고해상도 영상 복원 알고리즘에 대해 제안한다. 고해상도 원 영상의 윤곽선을 보존하기 위해 저해상도 영상의 국부 특성을 이용하여 시각함수를 정의하였고, MAP(Maximum A Posteriori) 추정 방식을 이용하여 국부적인 열화 정도(smoothness)를 조절하였다. 또한 가중치가 부여된 함수를 이용하여 원 고해상도 영상에 가능한 가까운 최적의 해를 찾기 위하여 반복기법을 사용하였으며, 열화 요소는 매 반복 단계마다 부분적으로 복원된 고해상도 영상으로부터 이용하였다. 제안된 방식의 성능을 실험 결과를 통해 확인할 수 있었다. In this paper, we propose an adaptive MAP (Maximum A Posteriori) high-resolution image reconstruction algorithm using local statistics. In order to preserve the edge information of an original high-resolution image, a visibility function defined by local statistics of the low-resolution image is incorporated into MAP estimation process, so that the local smoothness is adaptively controlled. The weighted non-quadratic convex functional is defined to obtain the optimal solution that is as close as possible to the original high-resolution image. An iterative algorithm is utilized for obtaining the solution, and the smoothing parameter is updated at each iteration step from the partially reconstructed high-resolution image is required. Experimental results demonstrate the capability of the proposed algorithm.

        PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF VAR10US BRANDS OF ELASTOMERIC CHAINS

        교정적인 치아이동에 필요한 힘들은 orthodontic wire나 여러 가지 elastic rubber등으로 얻을 수 있다. 이중 교정용 elastic rubber는 환경 변화, 시간 경과, 신장(stretch) 정도에 따라 영구 변형과 힘의 소실(force decay)이 다양하게 나타나므로 적용된 힘을 예측하기 힘든 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 임상에서 널리 사용되는 3가지 종류 (Ormco : Generation II Power Chains ; brand A, RMO : Energy-Chain ; brand B, Unitek : AlastiK ; brand C)의 교정용 합성고무탄성재를 실험 환경, 초기 힘의 크기, 고무탄성재의 형태 그리고 신장속도를 달리한 뒤 시간에 따른 잔존 힘의 변화를 비교하였으며, 종류에 따른 특징적인 물리적 성질에 대하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 세 종류 모두에서 상온의 공기에 보관된 경우 잔존 힘의 비율이 가장 컸으며 물과 타액 간에는 차이가 없었다. 2. 세 종류 모두에서 24시간 이후로는 초기 힘의 크기에 따른 잔존 힘의 비율에 차이가 없었다. 3. A, B는 filament 유무에 따른 잔존 힘의 비율에 차이가 없었으나 C에서는 filament가 있는 경우 힘의 소실이 더 많았다. 4. 신장속도를 달리하여도 잔존 힘의 비율에는 큰 차이가 없었다. 5. B는 각각의 실험조건에서 A, C보다 상대적으로 잔존 힘의 비율이 높았다. Forces needed for orthodontic tooth movement are obtained from various appliances such as orthodontic wires or elastic rubber. Orthodontic elastic rubber is widely used clinically, but permanent deformation and force decay may occur from the environmental changes, time of clinical use and the extent of the stretch, making the Prediction of force being applied difficult. The Present study examined and compared the changes in residual force between three brands of elastomeric chains (Ormco Generation II Power Chains ; brand A, RMO : Energy-Chain ; brand B, Unitek : AlastiK ; brand C) under various environmental conditions, amount of initial force, types of elastomer and the rate of extension. The characteristic physical properies of the elastomeric chains were as follows. 1. In all three brands, the residual force ratio was largest when the chains were stored in air, with no difference between water and saliva. 2. In all three brands, after 24 hours, there was no statistical difference in residual force ratio according to the initial force level. 3. In Brand A and B, the presence of filament had no correlation with the residual force ratio. In Brand C force decay was more severe when the chain contained filament. 4. In each brand, rate of extension had no effect on residual force ratio. 5. Brand B showed relatively higher residual force ratio compared to other brands.

        지구온난화에 따른 제주도 근해의 해수면 상승과 제주도 동부 지역 지하수의 염수대 변화

        Groundwater is the main water resource in Jeju Island because storage of surface water in reservoir is difficult in the island due to the permeable volcanic rocks. Because of this reason, the groundwater is expected to be very vulnerable to seawater intrusion by global warming, which will cause sea level rise. The long term change of mean sea level around the Korean Peninsula including Jeju Island was analyzed for this study. The sea level rise over the past 40 years was estimated to be of $2.16\;{\pm}\;1.71\;mm/yr$ around the Korean Peninsula. However, the rising trend around the eastern part of Jeju Island was more remarkable. In addition, the groundwater/seawater intrusion monitoring network operated by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province shows that seawater intrusion becomes more prominent during dry 4-5 months in a year when the sea level increases. This implies that the fresh groundwater lens in the eastern part of Jeju Island is influenced by the sea level rise due to global warming in the long term scale. 제주도는 투수성이 좋은 화산암류로 형성이 되어 지표수의 발달이 빈약하므로 수원의 대부분을 지하수에 의존하고 있다. 따라서 지구 온난화로 인한 해수면 상승이 발생하여 지하수로의 해수 침투가 발생할 경우 매우 심각한 문제에 봉착할 수 있는 취약성을 지녔다. 본 연구에서는 장기 조위 관측 자료를 토대로 한반도 주변과 제주도 근해의 장기적인 해수면 변화를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 최근 40년 간 한반도 주변에서 해수면이 $2.16\;{\pm}\;1.71\;mm/yr$의 속도로 뚜렷한 상승 양상을 보였으며 제주도 해안에서는 더욱 빠른 속도로 해수면이 상승해 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 제주특별자치도의 지하수/해수침투관측망의 지하수 관측 자료를 통하여 갈수기 중 해수면이 연주기적으로 상승하는 4-5개월 정도의 시기 동안 해수면의 상승에 따라 염수대가 육지 쪽으로 확장하여 침투하고 있는 것을 관측할 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 제주도 동부 지역이 장기적으로 해수면의 상승에 따라 염수대가 육지 쪽으로 확장하여 침투하였음을 간접적으로 보였다. 이는 지구 온난화에 의한 해수면의 상승이 그 동안 관찰되어 왔던 제주도 동부 지역의 해수 침투현상의 한 원인이 될 수 있음을 제시하고 있다.

        Electronic nose has been developed for detection of various hazardous molecules, especially vapor organic compounds (VOCs), by adsorption and desorption phenomenon. However, although conventional electronic noses have provided many advantages such as simple detection and high sensitivity, they still need advanced technologies for selective specificity in real samples. In this review, we provide bionanoelectronic noses with natural receptors for selective odorant detection. This review includes from fabrication of natural receptors and conducting nanomaterials to bioelectronic noses. We also discussed their perspective applications for the future at the conclusion.
