        시설입소 치매부모를 돌보는 자녀들의 경험

        Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe the experience of adult Korean children who are caregivers for parents institutionalized with dementia. Methods: Participants were fourteen adult children caregivers of elders institutionalized with dementia. Data were collected through in-depth unstructured interviews with individual participants from August to November, 2012. Theoretical sampling was used to the point of theoretical saturation. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin’s Grounded Theory Method. Results: From open coding, 67 concepts, 29 sub-categories, and 14 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category of the experience of adult children caring for their parents institutionalized with dementia was ‘enduring the role of a prop’ consisting of four phases: initial turmoil, exploration, role adjustment, and acclimation. To manage the role of a prop, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as overcoming the unfamiliarity, overseeing the nursing home care, and counterbalancing the caring roles. As a result, participants experienced ambivalence towards the existence of parents with dementia, changes in family relationships, altered viewpoint towards nursing homes, and restructuring of life. Conclusion: In-depth understanding of the experience will guide nurses to promote effective interventions in order to better support the Korean family caregivers of parents institutionalized with dementia.

        기독교 간호대학 학생의 영적간호실습 경험

        Purpose: This study was conducted to explore, describe and understand the experience of spiritual nursing practice among christian nursing students. Methods: Data were collected through reflective journals written by 75 nursing students during their spiritual nursing practice, from March to April, 2012. Data were analyzed by thematic analysis method suggested by Braun and Clarke. Results: The experience of spiritual nursing practice among christian nursing students consisted of four themes: Departure with anxiety and anticipation, spiritual frustration and dispiritedness, spiritual touch and fulfillment, and spiritual reflection and maturity. Although students commenced the practice uneasy in mind, they managed to learn to connect with their patients spiritually sharing inner intimacy through empathy. Students recognized the importance of spiritual care for their patients, acquiring a holistic perspective for nursing. Through spiritual reflection, students felt rewarded and grew to spiritual maturity. Conclusion: The results suggest that spiritual nursing practice is a valuable way to learn and actualize the holistic nursing practice in students. Since nursing students experienced various spiritual challenges during the practice, more proactive educational interventions need to be developed and implemented to reinforce students’ spirituality.

        호스피스 완화병동 간호사의 말기암환자 돌봄 경험

        Purpose: The purpose of the study was to explore and describe hospice palliative nurses’ experience of caring for terminal cancer patients. Methods: Eleven hospice palliative nurses participated in the study. Data were collected through individual in-depth unstructured interviews with participants from November, 2012 to October, 2013. Theoretical sampling was used to the point of theoretical saturation. Data were analyzed using Corbin and Strauss’ ‘Grounded Theory Method.’ Results: From open coding, 25 sub-categories and 12 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category was ‘becoming stepping-stones between life and death enduring burdens’, consisting of three phases: the phase of withdrawal, the phase of exertion, and the phase of maturity. Through this process, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as ‘maintaining a distance’, ‘sharing intimate daily life’, ‘being a mediator for a peaceful death’, ‘grieving and remembering’. The consequences of these strategies were a transcendental perspective towards life and ambivalent feelings toward hospice nursing. Conclusion: In-depth understanding of the hospice palliative nurses’ experience of caring for terminal cancer patients will guide nurse managers and policy makers to promote effective nursing strategies to better support hospice palliative nurses.

        COVID-19 감염병 시대, 간호대학생의 임상실습 적응 경험

        Purpose: This study was performed to explore and describe the overall clinical practice adaptation experiences among nursing students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This qualitative study applied the grounded theory method by Corbin and Strauss. Data were collected from May to August 2021 through individual in-depth interviews with 14 nursing students from three universities in B metropolitan city. Results: From open coding, 20 sub-categories and 10 categories were identified. Analysis revealed that the core category was the process of “keeping the place of learning while adhering to the restrictions of the era of pandemic” and that it consisted of four phases: confusion, withdrawal, adjustment, and growth. Through this process, participants utilized various action/interactional strategies such as “shifting to positive thinking,” “building a shield to protect oneself,” and “focusing on learning.” The consequences of these strategies were “adapting to the reality of the infectious disease situation” and “strengthening a foothold to grow as a future nurse.” Conclusion: An in-depth understanding of nursing students’ experiences of adapting to clinical practice during the COVID-19 pandemic will guide nursing educators to promote effective teaching strategies to better support nursing students in a time of infectious disease crisis.

        노인요양병원 간호사의 임종간호수행과 죽음불안 및 자아존중감이 임종간호스트레스에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: This descriptive study was aimed at identifying the relations among geriatric nurses' terminal care performance, death anxiety and self-esteem and the factors that affect nurses' terminal care stress. Methods: Data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire completed by 212 geriatric hospital nurses working in 10 hospitals in K city and B metropolitan city. Results: The survey results showed that the stress factors were terminal care performance and death anxiety. Significant predictors for terminal care stress were death anxiety and terminal care performance. (And the higher the level of death anxiety and terminal care performance were, the heavier the stress was.) These factors explained 32.5% of the variance in terminal care stress. Conclusion: The results of the study suggested that terminal care performance was an important factor of terminal care stress for geriatric nurses. Therefore, it seems that it is necessary to develop an educational intervention program to improve nurses' terminal care performance to reduce their terminal care stress. 목적: 본 연구는 요양병원 간호사의 임종간호수행과 죽음불안, 자아존중감 및 임종간호스트레스간의 상관관계를 확인하고 임종간호스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 방법: K시와 B광역시 소재 10개 요양병원에 근무하는 212명의 간호사를 대상으로 자가 보고식 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 결과: 요양병원간호사의 임종간호스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인은 죽음불안과 임종간호수행이었으며 죽음불안과 임종간호수행 정도가 높을수록 임종간호스트레스가 높았다. 이들 변수들은 임종간호스트레스에 대하여 32.5%의 설명력을 나타냈다. 결론: 요양병원간호사의 임종간호스트레스를 완화시키기 위하여 효율적인 인력배치 등의 행정적인 방안을 수립하고 죽음불안을 감소시킬 수 있는 임종간호교육프로그램 개발 및 효과검증 연구 수행을 제안하는 바이다.

        일개 기독교 종합병원에서 영적간호를 받은 입원 암 환자들의 경험

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the essence and meaning of the experience of cancer patients receiving spiritual nursing. Methods: Data were collected by in-depth individual interviews with participants from April to June, 2019. Eight patients from a single Christian hospital participated in this study. Cyclical data collection and analysis were conducted by Collaizzi’s phenomenological method. Results: The experience of cancer patients receiving spiritual nursing consisted of four themes: strange spiritual nursing faced with longing, unexpected changes in me, spiritual sympathy leading to trust, and transition to spiritual recovery. Conclusion: This study provided an in-depth understanding of the changes cancer patients experience through spiritual nursing interventions. Efforts should be made to verify the effectiveness of this study by developing and applying education programs that can enhance the spiritual nursing capabilities of nurses to better approach cancer patients.

        여성노인 암 환자의 질병 체험에 관한 해석학적 현상학적 연구

        Purpose: The purpose of the study was to understand the lived experience of illness among older females with cancer in South Korea. Methods: Data were collected from May to December of 2019 through individual in-depth interviews with eight older females with cancer who have undergone thorough cancer diagnosis and treatments. Transcribed data were analyzed using the hermeneutic phenomenological method developed by van Manen. Results: Six essential themes emerged: old body physically devastated through the fight against cancer; tug of war for symbiosis between cancer and the old body; home that does not provide comfort anymore; twilight years with no regrets even with cancer; womanhood to keep for a lifetime even in old age; and putting pieces together of the relationships around oneself. Conclusion: Based on the participants’ illness experience, efforts need to be made to develop and implement effective strategies to improve nurses’ understanding of the life experiences of illness among older females with cancer in the Korean socio-cultural context, and to provide patient and family-centered nursing interventions that reflect patients’ age and gender characteristics.

        졸업학년 간호대학생의 호스피스 인식과 삶의 의미가 임종간호태도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 졸업학년 간호대학생을 대상으로 호스피스 인식, 삶의 의미, 임종간호태도 정도 및 그 관련성을 확인하고 임종간호태도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 시도되었다. 부울경 지역 소재 3개 간호학과에 재학 중인 4학년 262명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문지를 활용하여 자료를 수집하였고 자료수집 기간은 2019년 9월 23일부터 11월 2일까지이었다. 수집된 자료는 연구목적에 따라 SPSS WIN ver. 25.0 프로그램을 활용해 서술통계, t-검정, 일원분산분석, Scheffé 검정, Pearson 상관계수, 단계적 다중회귀분석을 사용하였다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 임종간호태도 정도의 차이는 성별(t=-2.22, p=.027), 전공만족도(F=14.42, p<.001), 학업성적(F=3.38, p=.036), 호스피스 교육 유무(t=2.59, p=.010), 호스피스 실습경험 유무(t=2.05, p=.042), 삶의 만족도(F=4.47, p=.004), 임종간호경험 유무(t=-2.83, p=.005)에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 임종간호태도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 호스피스 인식(β=.43, p<.001)과 삶의 의미(β=.42, p<.001)로 확인되었고, 임종간호태도에 대한 이들 변인의 총 설명력은 52.4%로 나타났다. 따라서 졸업학년 간호대학생 임종간호태도의 긍정적 확립을 위해 호스피스 인식을 강화하고 삶의 의미 발견을 증진할 수 있는 호스피스 완화교육프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 필요하며, 간호학부 정규 교육과정의 개선이 요구된다. This study attempted to identify the level of perception on hospice, meaning of life, and attitudes toward nursing care of the dying (ATCOD) among senior nursing students, and to identify factors affecting ATCOD. Data were collected from 262 senior nursing students at three nursing schools in Gyungnam province, using self-written questionnaires, and the data collection period was from September to November, 2019. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis using the SPSS WIN ver.25.0 program. The degree of ATCOD showed significant differences according to gender (t=-2.22, p=.027), major satisfaction (F=14.42, p<.001), academic achievement (F=3.38, p=.036), hospice education experience (t=2.59, p=.010), hospice practice experience (t=2.05, p=.042), life satisfaction (F=4.47, p=.004), and terminal care experience (t=-2.83, p=.005). The factors influencing ATCOD were perception on hospice (β=.43, p<.001) and meaning of life (β=.42, p<.001), and the total explanatory power of these variables was 52.4%. Therefore, active hospice education programs and curriculum are needed to enhance perception on hospice and meaning of life to positively establish the ATCOD of senior nursing students.

        간호대학생의 생활스트레스, 자아탄력성 및 영적안녕이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 간호대학생의 생활스트레스와 자아탄력성 및 영적안녕이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 자료 수집은 2016년 11월 15일에서 12월 10일까지 B시와 C시에 소재한 3개 간호학과에 재학 중인 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t-검정, ANOVA, Scheffe 검정, Pearson 상관계수(correlation coefficients)와 단계적 다중회귀분석(stepwise multiple regression analysis)으로 분석하였다. 대학생활 적응은 생활스트레스 정도(r=-.657, p<.001)와는 유의한 음의 상관관계를 보였으며, 자아탄력성(r=.455, p<.001)과 영적안녕(r=.494, p<.001)과는 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 대학생활 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인은 생활스트레스(β=-.418, p<.001), 건강상태(β=.213 p<.001), 영적안녕(β=.210, p=.025), 전공만족도(β=.146, p=.003), 자아탄력성(β=.109, p<.001)순으로 나타났고 이들 변인들의 총 설명력은 56.5%였다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 간호대학생의 대학생활 적응을 돕기 위해서 생활스트레스에 대한 대처 능력을 함양하고 자아탄력성과 영적안녕을 증진시킬 수 있는 효율적인 교육 및 상담 프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 요구된다고 본다. This study examined the factors influencingthe adaptation to university life of nursing students. Data were collected from 235 nursing students in three nursing schools in B and C city from November 15 to December 10, 2016, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Correlations were found between adaptation to university life and life stress (r=-0.657, p<0.001) and between ego-resilience (r=0.455, p<0.001) and spiritual well-being (β=0.210, p=0.025)(r=0.494, p<0.001). The adaptation to university life in participants showed a significant correlation between life stress (r=-0.657, p<0.001), ego-resilience (r=0.455, p<0.001), and spiritual well-being (r=0.494, p<0.001). The significant factors influencing the adaptation to university life were life stress (β=-0.418, p<0.001), health status(β=0.213 p<0.001), spiritual well-being (β=0.210, p=0.025), satisfaction with major (β=0.146, p=0.003), and ego-resilience (β=0.109, p<0.001); these factors explained 56.5% of the variance. The findings suggest that adequate educational strategies are needed to reduce the life stress and increase health status, spiritual well-being, satisfaction on major, and ego-resilience in nursing students to promote their adaptation to university life.
