감태의 인공채묘시 유주자 및 유리배우체를 채묘하여 양성 생장도를 비교하므로써, 유리배우체의 대량양식 이용 가능성을 시험하였다. 2008년 11월에 유주자 및 유리배우체를 채묘한 채묘틀을 이용하여 2009년 5월부터 10월까지 전남 완도군 약산면 시험어장에서 양성 생장도를 비교하였다. 유주자 및 유리배우체 채묘 실험구에서 감태 엽체의 엽장과 생체량 등은 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. Outdoor cultivation experiment was conducted with artificial seeds using free-living gametophytes and zoospores of Ecklonia cava to develop FLG (free-living gametophyte) seeding technique. Growth of thalli between FLG and zoospore seeding groups was compared monthly from May to October 2009 at culture farm in Wando, Korea. In September 2009, thalli in the FLG seeding experimental group were 35.9±0.8 cm in length, 24.1±2.62 g in weight, 2.32±0.26 kg m-1 in biomass and 22.0±2.8 individuals m-1 in density. There were no significant differences in length, weight, biomass and density between FLG and zoospore seeding group. Therefore, the FLG seeding technique could replace the zoospore seeding method which would eventually contribute in restoration and conservation of natural resources.

Sediment transport around artificial habitat which is induced by the change of flow due to installation of the structure plays a role not only as a defect function of subsidence and burial but also bottom-environment control function. we surveyed that stability of the dice artificial reefs installed on Pohang coast of the East Sea (Sea of Japan). Using Side Scan Sonar (SSS) and scuba diving equipment, a facility condition of dice reefs. Total 139 place, 10,526 dice artificial reefs was discovered. As the level which affects function of the above 0.5m, the case 4 place of burial (0.5~1.2m, 2.9%), Scour appeared with 3 place (0.5m, 2.2%) and Broken was appeared with 183 artificial reefs (1.74%). Investigation result that dice reef on Pohang coast was most stable.

Stability and durability of the artificial reefs (ARs) installed for wildstock enhancement .have been a key issue. We surveyed the stability of 4,044 artificial reefs installed at 5 sites (Gangeung, Donghae, Samcheok, Goseong, and Yangyang) along the Gangwon coast of the East Sea (Sea of Japan) through which 1 to 5 typhoons pass annually. The ARs surveyed were 7 types aging 1 to 4 years. The side scan sonar (55S) and scuba diving surveys confirmed that the ARs stability was age and type-dependent. A total of 85.56% ARs remained safe, the rest 14.44% being influenced by physical parameters of the waters such surf. An interesting observation was that the AR stability was apparently influenced by the next year's wave after installation rather than by age. The representative influences by their circumstances were capsized (0.20%), broken (5.79%), sunk (0.27%), and buried (8.18%). By type, dice reef was most stable, while semicircle branch reef was most vulnerable.
