Vol.31 No.5

In modern ice hockey, the game is faster than in the past time, and the results of the game are changing depending on the players skating speed and tactical performance rather than the players body size. In addition, many teams are applying game analysis in various ways while preparing for matches through detailed analysis of their opponents. The pre scout means to prepare by analyzing the opponents team in detail in order to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent and apply the methods for our team to win the game. However, no matter how the coaches thoroughly train the players using good tactics and training methods and prepare for the pre scout by analyzing the opponents, various situations occur during the ice hockey game. Teams that play a lot of games throughout the season can apply it and modify it while playing the game, but in a tournament that doesnt play a lot like the World Championships, we can find the opponents pattern and block it and play efficiently. Therefore, the coaches must keep in mind that pre scout can determine the win or loss of a match. In conclusion, pre scout in ice hockey is about finding out the opponents situational patterns so that we can play efficiently.

Vol.20 No.3

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of training and detraining on muscle strength and skating abilities in ice hockey players. Subjects were divided into the control group and the training group. Twenty three male ice hockey players who participated in the training and detraining were pre-(0week), mid-(6weeks), post-(12weeks), and 12 weeks of detraining tested to take the measurement of their 1 repetition maximal strength and skating abilities. Among the 5 kinds of 1RM test for upper body, significant group-by-time interactions were found in bench press(p<.001), biceps curl(p<.001), and triceps extension(p<.001). In the test for lower body, significant group-by-time interactions were found in back squat(p<.001) and hip sled(p<.03) in training group. And among 4 kinds of skating abilities significant group-by-time interactions were found in 4 Pile-Run Test(p<.001) and Rink Five-times Dash Test(p<.001). The data obtained from this study have shown that the phased complex training for 12 weeks led to improvements in muscle strength and skating abilities. Also they could keep held of back squat and hip sled for muscle strength and 4 Pile-Run test for skating abilities for detraining in training group. Therefore, ice hockey players should properly take a rest and exercise for detraining.

Vol.23 No.4

Pressurization training (PT) is designed to perform short term training using exclusive pneumatic belt applying pressure on upper parts of arms and legs to reduce blood flow to limbs. PT may be an appropriate tool for elderly, rehabilitating patients, non-fit people who could not tolerate high intensity training, and people who desire to improve physical fitness with low exercise intensity. However, it has not completely been proved whether PT could improve the physical fitness and skeletal muscle function. Elite snowboard athletes were recruited in this study. Subjects were 9 PT group (23.22 ± 1.43). All subjects completed 2 week training program. PT training program was consisted totally 9 sets, 20 repetition body squat, lunge, leg-extension(20% of 1RM) and 1-minute rest (twice a day and 6 days per week). Subject performed training with specially designed elastic band wrapped around both legs. Warm-up was performed for 30 seconds under pressure of 120 ㎜Hg, and then the pressure was decreased to 0 ㎜Hg for 10 seconds. After this warm-up, Subject continued body squat, lunge, leg-extension(20% of 1RM) with pressure increased gradually from 20 ㎜Hg to 180 ㎜Hg. On the first day, Training was performed under pressure of 100 ㎜Hg, an then on the seven day, the pressure was increased by 10 ㎜Hg during the training up to 180 ㎜Hg. Pressure was maintained with 180 ㎜Hg for the rest of training period. The result showed that LBM was significantly increased and cross sectional areas of quadriceps on both right and leg were increased by 2,0 and 3.0%, respectively. Strength of knee extension, flexor were increase (5%), Physical fitness significantly increased (16%). It is concluded that two-weeks term pressurization training could improve skeletal muscle function at low intensity and may also be a useful method to improve physical fitness such as muscle strength and muscle hypertrophy.

Vol.19 No.2

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of arginine plus isoflavone on bone mineral density and bone metabolism hormone in human. The subjects of this study were 28 normal healthy females. All subjects were devided into four groups(P: placebo, A: arginine, I: isoflavone, A+I: arginine-isoflavone), All subjects who diet supplemented in each group for 8 weeks. bone mineral density, growth horemone, and calcitonin were significantly increased in the A and I. On the other hand, all factor were significantly increased in the A+I. There were significantly different in Bone mineral density, growth horemone, insulin-like growth factor 1 and calcitonin among the groups. Consequently, it is suggested that arginine and isoflavone Simultaneous Administration increase bone mineral density and bone metabolism hormone. Therefore, it would have positive effect on bone mineral density and bone metabolism hormone.

The Korean players got more experiences than Japanese players(Korean=100.00%, Japanese=91.00%) and the most cause of injuries was collision and falling. The therapeutic treatment was to go to the hospital(korean=85.71%, Japanese=84.42%) and was to put taping(korean=71.43%, Japanese=67.53%) on their painful parts or to rest. The prevention was to take a rest and sleep(korean=77.14%, Japanese=72.73%). In conclusion, Therefore Korean ice hockey players must properly wear their protects and guards on their bodies and faces and need the sufficient rest and the systematic and scientific training and education in terms of injury prevention and performance improvement.

Vol.15 No.3

The purpose of this study was to assess aging index age in elderly men. The study was designed to development of a regression equation for aging index age in fifty nine in the study, six items of body composition, blood pressure, five items of blood component and four items of bone function, including thirteen items of daily life activity fitness were measured. The results of the present study was follows: 1) The regression equation is as follows: AIS = -5.881 + 0.108X₁ - 1.137X₂ + 0.051X₃ - 0.039X₄ + 0.017X? + 0.002X? + 0.011X? - 0.003X? + 0.008X? - 0.001X₁? (r = 0.941)… (1) (X₁ = pegboard, X₂ = EMD, X₃ = FM, X₄ = FFM, X? = SBP, X? = TC, X? = leg endurance, X? = sit and reach, X? = lIDLC X₁? = glucose) AlA = 3.649AIS + 71.333…(2) Z = 1.141CA - 81.391,,,(3) AlAc = 3.649AIS + 1.141CA - 10.058…(4) (AIS = aging index score, AlA = aging index age, Z = correction factor, AlAc = corrected aging index age) Therefore, the equation would be utilized for the exercise prescription in the elderly, recruiting and the distribution of the elderly in the company, and considered useful in assessing functional fitness of daily living in elderly men.
