        사상체질(四象體質)과 HLA type과의 상관성(相關性)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)

        Exact constitutional classification is especially important in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Therefore, most studies on the Sasang Constitutional medicine have been focused on how accurately to classify Sasang Constitution. Recently, there have been reported on the studies about relationship between genetic polymorphism and Sansang Constitution. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is any correlation between Sasang Constitution and HLA type. Polymorphism of HLA genes have been known to be important role in transplantation, autoimmune disease, immune response against infection. This study was concentrated on a relationship of HLA-A, -C, -DR, and -DQ types with Sasang Constitution. Results are as following. 1. In the case of HLA-A, there was no significant difference. Only $HLA-A^*31$ has a tendency which Soyangin is less frequent than Soeumin and Taeumin. 2. In the case of HLA-C, there was significant difference between Sasang Constitution and HLA type. In persons having $HLA-C^*04$ allele, Taeumin is more frequent than Soyangin and Soeumin. On the other hand, Soyangin is more frequent than Taeumin and Soeumin in $HLA-C^*07$ allele. $HLA-C^*14$ has a tendency which Soeumin is more frequent than Soyangin and Taeumin. 3. In. the case of HLA-DR type and HLA-DQ type, there was no significant difference among Sansang Constitution. On the study of correlation between Sasang Constitution and HLA type, there was little statistical significance and tendency. This study was the first try about presentation of frequency on the HLA alleles corresponding with Sasang Constitution. I think that more study on the relationship between HLA gene and Sasang Constitution is necessary by method of large case research and various statistical analysis.

        체간 측정법에 의한 체질판별

        The main purpose of this study is to differentiate Sasang Constitutions of men and women by measuring 5 parts of the body. By the definitions about Four Chos(四焦) in ${\ulcorner}$The Discourse on Viscera and Bowels(臟腑論)${\lrcorner}$, the body is divided into four parts and sets up the five borderlines. They are Top-line, Bosom-line, Stomach-line, Navel-line and Bottom-line. Top-line(第一線) is the horizontal distance between Rt. & Lt. Coracoid processes passing through the acupuncture point CV-22(天突穴) or the horizontal distance between Rt. & Lt. beginning points of Axillary lines. Bosom-line(第二線) is the horizontal distance passing through Rt.& Lt. Nipples. Stomach-line(第三線) is the horizontal distance passing through Rt.& Lt. acupuncture point ST-19(不容穴). Navel-line(第四線) is the horizontal distance passing through the navel(CV-8; 神闕穴) and the acupuncture point ST-25(天樞穴). Bottom-line(第五線) is the horizontal distance between Rt. & Lt. Anterior Superior Iliac Spine(ASIS). The measured numerical values of Five Lines are the most important factors to classify the Four Constitutions(Taeyangin, Taeumin, Soyangin, Soeumin). Among the five lines, Stomach-line(Middle-line) is the base line to decide Yin and Yang. As a result, I could differentiate the four Constitutions as follows. 1. Taeyangin's Top-line is more than 36cm long. Top-line is the longest. Bottom-line is the shortest. The length-difference between Top-line and Bottom-line is more or less 10cm long. 2. In case of Taeumin, Navel-line is the longest. The numerical values of Middle and Bottom lines are almost the same or Bottom-line is shorter than Middle-line by 1 or 2 cm long. In some special case, the five lines are all the same and the body just looks like a log. 3. In case of Soyangin, just like Taeyangin, Top-line is the longest. Bottom-line is the shortest. The length of Top-line is ranged between 30cm to 35cm long. From Top-line to Bottom-line, the length gradually diminishes each by 2cm: for example, 34-32-30-28-26. 4. In case of Soeumin, the longest one is Bottom-line. Specially, Navel-line is shorter than Middle-line. Bottom-line is longer than the Middle.

        단일조사와 분할조사시 마우스 공장 소낭선세포의 방사선효과에 관한 실험적 연구

        To determine the dose·survival and repair characteristics of the jejunal crypt cells, experimental study was carried out using total 70 mice. Single or split irradiations of 1,100 to 2,200 rad were delivered to whole bodies of C_57 BL mice, using a cesium 137 animal irradiator and those mice were sacrificed after 90 hours. The number of regenerating crypts per jejunal circumference was counted by a jejunal crypt cell assay technique and dose·response curve was measured. The results were as follows : 1. The average number of jejunal crypts per circumference in control group was 140. In a single irradiation group, the number of regenerated jejunal crypts was, 125, 56, 2 in each subgroup of 1,100 rad, 1,400 rad and 1,800 rad respectively. In split irraiation group, it was 105,44,2 in each subgroup of 1,400rad 1,800rad and 2,200rad respectively. 2. Mean lethal dose of mouse jejunal crypt cell was 167 and 169 rad respectively in a single and split irradiation. 3. Repair dose of sublethal damage was 280 rad. 4. Sublethal damage was completely repaired within 4 hours between the split dose of irradiation.

      • 사상인(四象人) 이목비구(耳目鼻口)의 형태학적(形態學的) 특징(特徵) 연구(硏究)

        Objective This research is a study about constitutional diagnosis through the external appearances as a basic principle, and it is for finding shape differences of the ear, eye, nose, mouth according to the Sasang constitution Method We have collected 209 cases of patients of the Sasang Constitutional Department, including employees of the Kyung-Hee Medical Center and took pictures of the frontal view, lateral view, oblique view of face and measured heights, deapth, breadths of ear, eye, nose, mouth with 'The Measurement of R. Martin'. We analyzed shape differences of the face according to the Sasang constitution with certain results Results We got the morphologic characteristics of ear, eye, nose and mouth according to the Sasang constitution as Table 3. -Table 10. Conclusion : 1. The morphologic characteristics of Ear according to the Sasang constitution (1) Morphologic ear length, Physiognomic ear length, Ear lobule length is longer in Taeumin than Soeumin. (2) Physiognomic ear breadth is wider in Taeumin than Soeumin. (3) Physiognomic ear length, lobule length ratio is higher in Taeumin than Soyangin. 2. The morphologic characteristics of Eye according to the Sasang constitution. (1) Inner Palpebral fissure width, 5th Palpebral fissure length, Bizygomatic breadth-Outercanthal distance is the longest in Taeumin (2) Palpebral fissure inclination is widest in Soeumin. (3) Palpebral fissure length is longer in Taeumin than Soeumin. (4) Pupillary diameter ratio is the lowest in Taeumin (5) Palpebral fissure length, width ratio is higher in Soeumin than Taeumin. (6)zygomatic breadth, Bizygomatic breadth-Outercanthal distance ratio is the higher in Taeumin than Soeumin. 3. The morphologic characteristics of Nose according to the Sasang constitution. (1) Nasion depth is deepest in Soyangin. (2) Nasion to pupillary depth is deeper Soyangin than Taeumin. (3) Nasal tip depth, Nostril to Nasalalar depth is deeper Soyangin than Taeumin. (4) Subnasale to Nasalalar depth is the shallowest in Taeumin (5) Nasalalar height is lowest in Soeumin. (6) Nasalalar to Nostril distance is deeper Taeumin than Soeumin. (7) Nasal tip depth, Nasal depth ratio is the highest in Taeumin (8) Nasal depth Nasalalar heightratio is lowest in Soeumin. (9) Midfaceheight, Nasal tip depth ratio is higher Soyangin than Taeumin. 4. The morphologic characteristics of mouth according to the Sasang constitution. (1) Lower mid lip height, Lower philtrum height, Lower quarter lip height, Total middle lip height, Total philtrum height, Total quarter lip height is the shottest in Soyangin. (2) Upper mid lip height, Upper philtrum height is longer in Taeumin than Soyangin (3) Lip inclination is higher in Soeumin than Soyangin. (4) Intercheilion breadth, total height ratio is lowest in Soyangin. (5) Total lip height, Upper philtrum height ratio is higher in Soyangin than Soeumin. (6) Lower lip height Lower quarter lip height ratio is higher in Soyangin than Taeumin. (8) Total lip area is wider in Taeumin than Soyangin.

      • 맥류(麥類)의 춘화처리(春化處理)에 대한 사상의학적 고찰 -농가월령(農家月令)을 중심으로-

        현재 보리를 뜻하는 맥(麥)은 보리, 밀, 호밀 등을 포함하는 맥류(麥類)의 총칭으로도 사용되고 있다. 하지만 맥(麥)의 글자가 처음 형성되었을 때에는 밀의 의미였으며, 시간이 흐름에 따라 차츰 밀(소맥(小麥))과 보리(대맥(大麥))를 동시에 뜻하는 단어가 되었고 지금은 보리만을 의미하는 단어가 되었다. 따라서 모맥은 '보리'가 아닌 '보리와 밀'로 번역되어져야만 한다. 1619년에 나온 고상안(高尙顔)의 "농가월령(農家月令)"을 통하여 우리 나라는 서양보다 300여 년이나 앞서 춘화처리(Vernalization)를 실용화하였음을 알 수 있다. 이는 봄여름에 자라 온열지기(溫熱之氣)(양기(陽氣))만 있는 춘파맥류는 사계절(춘하추동(春夏秋冬))에 자라 온열양한지기(溫熱凉寒之氣)(양기(陽氣) + 음기(陰氣))를 고루 갖춘 추파맥류에 비해 기운이 부족하다는 한의학적 개념에서 비롯되었다. 즉 가을에 파종하지 못한 가을보리를 인위적으로 저온처리(음기(陰氣)=가을겨울 기운)를 한 다음 봄에 파종하면, 가을보리를 봄에 심었을 때 생식생장을 하지 못하여 열매를 맺지 못하는 좌지현상(座止現象)을 방지할 수 있어 농업 생산력을 높일 수 있었다. 보리는 음청지기(陰淸之氣)가 보명지주(保命之主)인 소양인에게 권장되고, 부풀어지는 성질이 있어 빵의 원료로 사용되는 밀은 호산지기(呼散之氣)가 보명지주(保命之主)인 태음인에게 알맞은 식품이라 하겠다. 'Maek(麥)' which means a barley at present is used as a general name of the kinds of 'Maek(麥)' including barley, what, rye, and so on. However 'Maek(麥)' had meant a wheat when the letter of 'Maek(麥)' had been created at the beginning. And gradually 'Maek(麥)' has been used as a word for the both meaning of a wheat and barley, and now a days become a word only for the meaning of a barley. Therefore 'Mo-Maek' should be translated into 'a wheat and barley', although it is translated into only a barley. In Korea, according to 'Nong-ga-wol-ryung(農家月令)' of Ko, Sang-un(高尙顔) in 1619, the vernalization had been utilized practically 300 years earlier than the Western countries. It is based on a concept of the oriental medicine that a 'Maek(麥)' of the spring seedtime, which keeps the only warmth('Won-yeol-ji-ki(溫熱之氣) (陽氣)' during the growth period in spring-summer time, has less vigorous than a 'Maek(麥)' of the autumn seedtime, which keeps the cold, hot, warmth equally 'Yeol-won-yang-han-ji-ki(溫熱凉寒之氣) (陽氣+陰氣)' during the growth period in the four seasons. If a autumn seedtime barley but which is actually not sowed on time in autumn season is sowed in the spring after the treatment of cold condition (陰氣 autumn-winter condition) artificially, it would be avoided from the abnormal phenomenon that a barley could not come to fruition in case of non-treated seed. Thus as a result of this the agricultural productivity has been able to be improved. An barley is recommended as a food for Um-chung-ji-ki(陰淸之氣) to be served as Bo-myung-ji-ju(保命之主) to be Soyangin. And a wheat which is used as an ingredient of bread because of its expanding feature is a suitable food for Ho-san-ji-ki(呼散之氣) to be served as Bo-myung-ji-ju(保命之主)to the Taeumin.

        Objectives This study was aimed to develop the clinical practice guideline for Soeumin symptomatology. This was the first clinical practice guideline, which focuses on symptomatology, not disease. Methods Donguisusebowon and many articles were reviewed and examined for developing clinical practice guidelines. Among the previous guidelines, we assessed the guidelines by Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE II). After AGREE II assessment, we chose and revised the clinical practice guideline. Results & Conclusions By researching and discussing the Soeumin symptomatology, we make the principle of the clinical practice guideline, including classification, definition, algorithm, and treatment assessing tool.

        아욱(葵菜), 접시꽃(蜀葵), 닥풀(黃蜀葵), 해바라기(向日葵)에 대한 문헌고찰

        1. 연구 목적 사상의학(四象醫學)에 있어서 식이요법은 체질진단, 약물치료와 아울러 정신과 육체의 균형 및 조화라는 입장에서 매우 중요하다. 하지만 학자들간의 체질음식에 대한 리견(異見)으로 인하여 혼란이 있어왔다. 따라서 중요한 식품에 대한 역사적 유래, 특성, 효능에 대한 문헌고찰을 통하여 사상체질 식이요법의 이론적 배경을 제시할 필요성이 제기된다. 백채지주(百菜之主)라 할 수 있는 아욱(葵菜)은 다른 나라와 달리 우리 나라에서만 국이나 찌개에 넣어 식용(食用)되고 있다. 이러한 아욱은 접시꽃(蜀葵), 닥풀(黃蜀葵), 해바라기(向日葵)와 같이 공통적으로 이름에 규(葵)가 들어가고 성질이 비슷하기 때문에 같이 고찰하였다. 특히 해바라기에 대한 문헌정리가 없는 학계에 해바라기 도입연대를 추정하고 규(葵)를 해바라기로 오역함에 따른 폐단을 정정하는 근거를 제시하고자 한다. 2. 연구 방법 본초서(本草書) 뿐만 아니라 농서(農書), 유서(類書), 개인문집 등을 비교 분석하였다. 3. 연구 결과 (1) 규채(葵菜)는 '아부실(阿夫實) ${\rightarrow}$ 아욱(阿郁) ${\rightarrow}$ 아옥(아혹) ${\rightarrow}$ 아욱'의 표기변천을 거치며, 동규(冬葵)를 돌아욱이라하는 까닭은 해를 넘기는(돌) 아욱이라는 뜻이다. (2) 아욱의 향일성(向日性)은 충(忠)과 지(智)를 상징하는 의미로 사용되었으며, 촉규(蜀葵) 황촉규(黃蜀葵) 향일규(向日葵)의 향일성(向日性)과 맞물려 확대 해석하기에 이르렀다. (3) 黃蜀葵(닥풀)를 一日花(일일화)로 보았으나 해바라기가 도입된 이후 황촉규(黃蜀葵)와 해바라기를 혼동하여 닥풀을 해바라기(向日花)로 잘못 인식하기도 하였다. (4) 현존하는 문헌 중 해바라기에 대한 최초기록은 "청장관전서(靑莊館全書)"(1795)이며 1700년대 초기에서 중기사이에 도입되었을 것으로 추정된다. (5) 일부 사전류의 잘못된 기록으로 인하여 규(葵)에 대한 해석의 혼란을 가져왔으나 이는 바로 잡아져야만 한다. 1. Purpose of study In the medical science of 'Sasang', a constitutional examination(diagnosis) and a medical treatment are important however a dietary cure is considered as very important at the medical prevention and treatment. But there has been a confusion due to the different view concerning the constitutional foods in between scholars. There it is necessary for us to bring up the theoretical basis of the 'Sasang' constitutional - dietary cure by means of the bibliographical study in relation to a historic, characteristics, efficiency of the major foods. A mellow as called "Baekchejiju" has been used as a source of adding food materials when we make a boiling soup, which is only in Korea but not other countries case. We also studied a hollyhock, a 'Darkpull', a sunflower together with a mellow, because these plants contains a similar characteristics and same chinese word of 'Gue' at their name. At this study we would like to bring up the basis correcting the evil of the misinterpretation to be translated 'Gue' into 'Sunflower', which would be helpful to the current academic circles studied very rarely for the introduction process of sunflower. 2. Method of study We did a comparative study based on not only 'Bonchoseo - original plants book' but also agricultural books, boos of the same kinds and private books. 3. Result of study 1) A mellow has been changed its inscribed name from 'Abushil' to 'A-uk', to 'A-ok', to 'A-uk'. And a winter mellow is called as 'Dol-a-uk' which means the thing is changed a year. 2) The heliotropism of mellow has been used as the symbol of the loyalty and the intelligence. Its meaning has been interpreted expansively engaging with the heliotropism of a hollyhock, a Darkpull, and a sunflower. 3) Once 'Darkpull' had been recognized as 'one day flower'. But after sunflower come, people have confused and misread 'Darkpull' by 'Sunflower'. 4) The first record of sunflower among the existing bibliographical documents is "Chung-jang-gam-chun-seo" (1795). And It is presumed thal the sunflower had introduced in Korea at the early to mid of the eighteen century. 5) The interpretation for mellow has been made s confusion by a several documentary and dictionary record, but should be corrected to be right.

        백하오이중탕의 기원(基源), 변천(變遷), 구성(構成)에 대한 고찰(考察)

        1. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to understand the origin, the progressive changes and the constructive principles of Packhaoleejung-tang (白何烏理中湯) 2. Methods: Packhaoleejung-tang and other related prescriptions were analyzed in terms of their pathological indications, based on "Donguisusebowon Chobongwon (東醫壽世保元 草本卷)", "Donguisusebowon Gabobon (東醫壽世保元 甲午本)", "Donguisusebowon Sinchukbon (東醫壽世保元 辛丑本)", "Dongmuyugo (東武遺稿)", "Shanghanlun (傷寒論)". 3. Results and Conclusions: (1) The origin of Packhaoleejung-tang is leejung-tang from "Shanghanlun (傷寒論)". Packhaoleejung-tang inherited some of the principles from "Shanghanlun (傷寒論)" Insamkeiji-tang (2) "Gabobon(甲午本)"'s one prescription Hyangsaleejung-tang emphasizes the effect of lossen up by using Pogostemonis Herb (藿香),Amomi Fructus(砂仁). "Gabobon(甲午本)"'s another prescription Packhaoleejungtang emphasizes the effect of warm up stomach by using Cinnamomum cassia Blume (桂枝), Allium sativum Linne (獨頭蒜), Cynanchum wilfordii(白何首烏). "Sinchukbon(辛丑本)"'s prescription Packhaobujaleejungtang emphasizes the effect of warm up stomach by using Aconitum carmichaeli(附子) (3) The Packhaoleejung-tang is composed of 7 herbs. Atractlodis Rhizoma White(白朮), Glycyrrhizae Radix(甘草), Paeoniae Radix Alba(白芍藥) support Soeumin's spleen root (脾元), and Zingiberis Rhizoma(乾薑),Cinnamomum cassia Blume (桂枝, Cynanchum wilfordii(白何首烏) warm up stomach. Citri Pericarpium(陳皮) circulate Qi and encourage the descension of Yin.
