The substantia nigra of the Mongolian gerbil was studies by tyrosine hydroxylase immunohistochemistry and immunoelectron microscopy with preembedding method. The purpose was to obtain information on the distribution and ultrastructure of the Tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive and dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, in order to provide the necessary background for the gerbil. Large number of tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive neurons were located in the compact part of substantia nigra. Findings in the gerbil, compared to observations in the other species, included the presence of prominent bundles of tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive cytoplasmic processes passing in the dorsoventral direction from pars compacta into pars reticulata at middle and caudal levels of the substantia nigra, and the presence of a distinct tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive substantia nigra pars lateralis. Tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive neurons had well-developed cell organelles, especially rough endoplasmic reticulum, free ribosome and poly-ribosome, and showed the infoldings of the nuclear envelope. We anticipate that the present description of the cellular organization of the tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactive dopaminergic area in the substantia nigra of gerbil will be useful for the animal experimental model of Parkinson's disease.
흰쥐 숨뇌의 맨아래구역에서 Phenylalanine 처리에 따른 Monosodium Glutamate의 효과

간추림 Glutamate 는 수용체를 통하여 신경세포의 흥분을 전달하는 아미노산계 신경전달물질이다. 본 연구는 생리식염수, monosodium glutamate(MSG), phenylalanine, MSG-phenylalanine 을 투여하여 숨뇌의 맨아래구역에서 TH 신경세포를 조사하였다. 맨아래구역에서 catecholamine신경세포를 관찰하기 위하여 면역세포화학적 방법을 이용하였다. MSG(4mg/g bw)의 투여에 의해 흰쥐 맨아래구역의 TH 신경세포가 손상되었고, MSG에 이은 phenylalanine (15 mg/g bw)의 투여에 의해 TH 신경세포의 손상이 감소되었다. 이로서 phenylalanine 이 MSG 에 의한 신경세포 독성을 억제시키는 것으로 생각된다.

간추림 토끼 고양이 돼지 및 사람의 latex 심방조형을 제작하여 심방내강의 형태를 관찰한 바 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 동물에 따라 차이는 있으나 대체로 심방귀 조형은 여러 개의 가지 모양의 구조로 되여 있다. 고유심방의 조형은 한 개의 둥근 latex덩어리로 되어 있었으며 latex 덩어리로부터 나온 가지들은 2~3차에 걸쳐 다시 작은 가지로 나누어져 있고 가지의 표면에는 주름이 잘 발달되어 있으며 맨 끝 가지는 손가락과 같은 몇 개의 구조로 갈라져 끝났다. 동물에 따라 오른쪽과 왼쪽의 심방귀의 조형은 일정한 모양의 구조로 되어있으며 왼쪽은 오른쪽의 것보다 길고 잘 구분되는 가지 모양의 구조를 갖고 있어서 오른쪽과는 차이가 있었다.

Haemaphysalis longicornis Neumann, 1901 were collected from native cattle and milk cattle, at the Cholla-buk-do province, Korea from June to September 1989. The fine surface structures of each growing stages in H. longicornis were observed by scanning electron microscope(JSM-T330A). Venter, capitulum, hypostome, anus, spiracular plate, ventral integument, festoon, scutum, dorsal integument, claw, legs and Haller's organ were observed. Mean body length is 2,710.2㎛ in unfed males, 3,003.3㎛ in unfed females, l,396.6㎛ in unfed nymphs and 662.6㎛ in unfed larvae. Hypostome dentition is usually 5/5 in adult, 3/3 in nymph and 2/2 in larva. Light microscope was used to investigate the histological structures of the salivary gland in unfed female ticks, H. longicornis. As in other species of female ixodid ticks, the salivary glands are consisted of three alveoli, one agranular(type Ⅰ) and two granular(type Ⅱ, Ⅲ).

This study was performed to investigate the effects of pH on the degranulation of mesenteric and peritoneal mast cells induced by compound 48/80 in vivo and in vitro, and to determine the optimal dosage of compound 48/80 for the mast cell degranulation in various pH. Results were as following: 1. In vivo study using mesenteric mast cells : the effect of compound 48/80(1㎍/ml) on mast cells was markedly increased in pH 7.8. 2. In vitro study using peritoneal mast cells: the onset time of degranulation of mast cell induced by compound 48/80(0.33㎍/ml) was shorter in pH 7.2 and 7.8 than those in pH 5.5, 6.4 and 8.5. Above results suggested that response of mast cell to compound 48/80 was rapidly degranulated in pH 7.2 and pH 7.8.
