        비타민 E 보충섭취가 폐경기 여성의 혈장 항산화 영양상태 및 DNA 손상 개선에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 비타민 E의 보충섭취가 폐경기 여성의 항산화 영양상태 및 임파구 DNA 손상을 개선할 수 있는지를 알아보고자 수행되었으며, 이중맹검법으로 실시되었고 플라시보를 위약군으로 하였다. 폐경기 여성 35명을 대상으로 6주 동안 비타민 E 보충섭취군에게는 비타민 E 캡슐(α-tocopherol 성분 400 IU/capsule)을, 위약군에게는 대두유로 만든 위약 캡슐 (400 ㎎/capsule)을 하루 2회 섭취하도록 하였으며, 이 때 두 군의 분류는 무작위로 하였다. 항산화 영양상태를 알아보기 위해 혈장 vitamin C, α-tocopherol, γ-tocopherol, α-carotenoid, β-carotenoid, lycopene 농도를 측정하였고, 임파구 DNA 손상정도를 알아보기 위해서는 Comet assay를 이용하여 tail length, %DNA in tail, tail moment를 측정하였다. 비타민 E 보충 섭취군에서는 혈장 vitamin C (p<0.05) 와 α-tocopherol (p<0.000)농도가 유의적으로 증가하였고, γ-tocopherol (p<0.000) 농도와 tail length (p<0.05)는 유의적으로 감소하였다. 반면, 위약군에서는 혈장 vitamin C (p<0.05)의 농도만이 유의적으로 증가하였다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 비타민 E의 보충섭취가 혈장 항산화 상태 및 DNA 손상에 대해 부분적인 개선 효과가 있음을 보여주었다. The purpose of this project was to evaluate whether vitamin E supplementation could improve the antioxidant status and lymphocyte DNA damage in Korean postmenopausal women. This was double blinded, placebo-controlled trial. Thirty-five subject were randomized to receive either placebo 400 ㎎/capsule or natural α-tocopherol 400 IU/capsule, 2 times a day for 6 weeks. We measured plasma vitamin C, α-tocopherol, γ-tocopherol, α-carotenoid, β-carotenoid, lycopene concentration and tail length, %DNA in tail, tail moment in lymphocyte DNA damage index. Vitamin E supplementation group had significantly increased plasma vitamin C (p<0.05), α-tocopherol (p<0.000), whereas γ-tocopherol (p<0.000) and tail length (p<0.05) were significantly decreased. However, placebo supplementation group also had significantly increased plasma vitamin C (p<0.05). In conclusion, our study shows that vitamin E supplementation to Korean postmenopausal women may partially improve antioxidant status and lymphocyte DNA damage.

        노년층 1인 가구와 2인 이상 가구의 영양소 섭취 및 대사증후군 유병률 비교 - 제6기 국민건강영양조사(2013~2015년) 자료 이용 -

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the comparison of nutrient intake and metabolic syndrome between single person households and non-single person households in elderly subjects. We analyzed data from 2,903 subjects ≥ age 65 who participated in the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) 2013~2015. As a result, single-person households had lower income and economic ability, overall nutrient intake was deteriorated, and the proportion of high-carbohydrate intake was high, compared to non-single person households. After adjusting for potential confounders (sex, age, education, household income, economic activity, smoking status, alcohol consumption, walking frequency, health status, depression status, and dietary factors), the single-person household showed a tendency of 1.22-fold higher ORs of metabolic syndrome and 1.3-fold higher ORs of hypertriglyceridemia than the non-single-person household. We suggest that the single-person household may be associated with increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome and hypertriglyceridemia in the elderly subjects.

        직장인 남성을 대상으로 한 12주간의 영양교육이 대사증후군 관련 인자에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of nutrition counseling on improving metabolic syndrome (MS) risk factors. Sixty-eight subjects were grouped according to their numbers of MS risk factors. Subjects who have three or more risk factors of MS were defined as High risk, subjects who have two risk factors of MS were defined as low risk, and subjects who have below two risk factors of MS were defined as no risk group. All groups finished nutrition counseling every three weeks for 12 weeks. Anthropometric, dietary assessments (24 hr-recall) and blood samples were measured at 0 and 12 weeks nutrition counseling. After 12 weeks of intervention, anthropometric data (weight, BMI, body fat (%), and waist/hip ratio) were significantly decreased (p < 0.05) in all groups. Daily consumption of calorie was decreased significantly (p < 0.05) in the group of low risk and high risk. Blood level of fasting plasma glucose was significantly decreased (p < 0.001) in all groups after 12 weeks of intervention. Significantly, the fasting plasma glucose level was returned to normal range in the high risk group. The number of people who have three or more risk factors of MS (high risk group) was decreased from 25 to 12. Sum of MS Criteria decreased from 85 to 52 in the group of MS and decreased from 143 to 99 in all groups. These results indicate that nutrition counseling for male workers at the worksite proved to be helpful by reducing the risk factors of MS and thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Continuing and systematic nutritional management programs should be developed and implemented for male workers at the worksites. (Korean J Community Nutrition 13(1) : 46~61, 2008)
