시선분석을 통한 초등학교 1학년 학생의 교과서 읽기 스타일 연구

본 연구는 교과서를 읽는 초등학교 1학년 학생의 시선 분석을 통해 초등학생의 교과서 읽기 스타일을 찾는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 구체적 실행을 위해 초등학교 1학년 학생 17명을 대상으로 시선 추적 장치(Tobii X2-60)를 통해서 통합 교과서(가을 1-2)를 읽는 동안의 시선 영상을 촬영하여 시선측정율과 시선 이동 경로, 시선 응시 시간을 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 교과서를 읽는 학생들의 시선측정율 전체평균은 56.61%로 나타났다. 둘째, 교과서 게재물간 시선 이동의 순서와 방향은 그림, 사진, 통합텍스트 그리고 텍스트 순이었다. 하지만 교과서에서 응시하지 않은 게재물들도 있었다. 셋째, 교과서 게재물 중 텍스트와 그림을 혼합한 ‘통합텍스트와 지시문’에서 전체응시시간이 가장 길게 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구 결과가 초등학생이 사용하는 교과서의 구성과 표현에 주는 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과서의 내용이나 정보를 표현하는 게재물은 시각 자료를 중심으로 먼저 제시하고 자료가 주는 정보의 정확성을 위해서 텍스트로 규정하는 순서가 적절할 것이다. 또한 교과서 한 페이지 게재물 수를 적정화하여 배열하며 전달하려는 정보가 명확하게 드러나도록 게재물간의 집중력 있는 구성이 필요하다. 둘째, 교과서의 내용이나 정보를 표현하는 게재물의 형태는 그림과 텍스트를 혼합한 것으로 각각의 속성들의 장점을 잘 조화시켜 정보에 대한 주의 집중도를 높여야 한다. The purpose of this study is to search for textbook reading style of the first graders in elementary school through the eye-tracking. The subject for this research was 17 of the first graders in elementary school. Reading integrated subject textbook``s unit, they were observed through ``Tobii X2-60``. After that, gaze both fixation path and gaze fixation time were analyzed. Through this process, three findings can be found as follows:First, the result of the experiment was that the total average of tracking ratio indicated 56.61%. The average tracking ratio shows the extent that students concentrate textbook information. Secondly, the gaze fixation path of the first grade students moved from drawing, picture, integrating text to text. On the contrary, some of the presented materials were not gazed by the students. Thirdly, the gaze fixation time of the first grade students was long in letter text, integrating text and direction. The result of this study led two conclusion as follows:First, textbook information should be presented with visual material as the center. hence, it is good to explain this through text. Then, as optimizing content``s figure of textbook one page, it is vital to enhance coherence between contents. Secondly, the attention of textbook material``s form should be enhanced as mixing drawing and text.
