This paper provides a methodology for the optimization of waste heat usage in Jeju Province. The incineration plant was considered as heat source and the food garbage plant and the youth hostel were selected as heat sink of this study. The distribution of the reusing energy in incineration plant is decide by load analysis and numerical calculation of the operational methodology. The main objective of this study is on the reduction of the fuel costs and reuse of waste heat. As the results, the efficiency of the incineration plant and two heat sink, the food garbage plant and the youth hostel, are improved and economical suggestions are proposed through the optimization analysis.
해수열원 이용 탠덤 히트펌프의 난방 운전 성능에 관한 연구

In this study, tandem heat pump system using sea water source of Lab. scale was composed at KIER. Sea water source were assumed by normal water, a heating operation performance was experimented with different temperature conditions. At this time, COP was appeared between 2.5 and 4.5. Besides, heating operation performance was checked with each temperature conditions.

Alluvium is sedimentary stratum and composed of gravel, sand, silt, clay. Permeability of alluvium is the higher. If alluvium have lots of aquifer, will be of great use heat source and heat sink of heat pump. Alluvium aquifer contain the thermal energy of surrounding ground. Also geothermal heat pump using alluvium aquifer reduce expenses than general geothermal heat pump, because geothermal heat pump using alluvium aquifer make use of single well. In this study geothermal heat pump using alluvium aquifer was installed and tested for a building. The heat pump capacity is 30USRT. Temperature of ground water is in 12{sim}17?C annually and the quality of the water is as good as living water. The heat pump cooling COP is 4.4 ~ 4.7. The system cooling COP is 3.25 ~ 3.6. This performance is as good as BHE type ground source heat pump.

For working out the countermeasure against the water pollution at Yedang Reservoir in Yesan-gun, Chung Nam Province, thirty factors of water properties were checked seasonally in 1991. The values of TSS, turbidity, DO, BOD, COD, Cl^-, NH_4^+ and NO_2^- were 8.0-20.7mg/l, 3.7-25.0, 9.8-12.7mg/l, 1.95-5.25mg/l, 5.2-14.Omg/l, 3.4-11.3mg/l, 0.270㎍/l and 5-60㎍/l respectively, and the highest in summer. But contents of total phosphate(24-5l㎍/l), ABS(13.2-64.0㎍/l) and chlorophyll-a (2.0-42.7mg/l) were higher in autumn than any other season. The contents of CN^- and toxic heavy metals in water were zero or low annually. The eutrophication of Yedang reservoir could be classified to mesotrophic lake from summer to fall season and oligotrophic-mesotrophic lake from winter to spring season by measuring amount of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and chlorophyll-a. On the Environmental Quality Standard of Lake, water qualities of Yedang Reservoir were 3-5 levels, but contents of toxic heavy metals and synthetic substance did not exceed the level of Human Health Safeguard.
낙동강하구에 있어서 지하수위에 따른 식물군락의 연속구조와 종이양성지수의 변화에 관한 연구

Changes of the distribution of plant communities and species diversity on the gradient of the water table in the delta of the Nakdong-river were studied by means of the method of Curtis and Patten, and the index of Shannon and Wiever. The communities were arranged in a single dimensioned ordination on the basis of the importance values of the persistent species. Leading dominant species from the low, level to the high level of the water table gradient, were Phragmites longivalvis, Cyperus flaridus, Ischaemum anthephoroides var. eriostachyum, Imperata cylindrica var. Koenigii, and Oenothera Lamarckiana. These species form a continuum depending upon available soil moistrue. Species diversity, oragnic constituents, standing crops, available P and exchangeable Na contents of soils showed a good relationship with gradients of the water table.
