최근에 산업현장에서의 통계전문가들에게는 여러 가지 통계분석기법을 사용한 자료 분석 외에 다양한 형태의 자료 저장장치에서 추출 또는 생성의 과정을 거쳐 분석 목적에 적합한 자료를 구성해야하는 문제에 많이 부닥치고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 여러 통계 패키지들에서 제공하고 있는 데이터 접근방식을 살펴보고 각 기능들을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 이들 방식에 대한 정확한 이해는 특히 데이터마이닝 등 대용량의 자료를 분석하고자 할 때 데이터 처리과정에서의 어려움으로 발생하는 비용과 시간을 감소시켜주어 통계전문가들이 통계분석에 더욱 많은 작업을 할애할 수 있도록 해줄 것이다. Recently, in addition to analyzing data with appropriate statistical methods, statistical analysts in the industrial fields face difficulties that they have to compose proper datasets for analysis objectives via extracting or generating processes from diverse data storage devices. In this paper we survey and compare many state-of-the-art data access technologies adopted by several commonly used statistical packages. More understanding of these technologies will help to reduce the costs occurring when analyzing large size of datasets in especially data mining works, and so to allow more time in applying statistical analysis methods.

본 논문에서는 국내 최초로 개발된 통계소프트웨어 「정보통계(ISP)」 윈도우시스템 개발연구의 경험을 소개하고, 이 시스템 중에서 6시그마 운동을 위한 통계모듈 ISP/6시그마 설계의 주요방향과 내용을 정리하고자 한다. ISP/6시그마는 실험계획, 공정능력분석, 품질관리를 위한 기본적 도구, 관리도, 신뢰성분석 등 전문적인 통계분석 모듈을 포함하기 때문에 개발에 어려움이 많았고, 개발기간이 장기화되었다. 이 소프트웨어를 플렛트폼으로 더욱 많은 전문가들이 개발에 참여하는 계기가 되고, 궁극적으로는 외국산 패키지보다 우수한 제품을 만들 수 있는 초석이 되었으면 한다.

This study was conducted to explore the impact of nurse staffing level and oral care on pneumonia in elderly inpatients in long-term care hospitals (LTCHs). Methods: Data were obtained from the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Services (HIRA) including the profiles of LTCHs, monthly patient assessment reports and medical report survey data of pneumonia patients by HIRA in the fourth quarter of 2010. The sample consisted of 37 LTCHs and 6,593 patients. Results: Patient per nurse staff (OR=1.43, CI=1.22~1.68) and no oral care (OR=1.29, CI=1.01~1.64) were significantly related with hospital acquired pneumonia. The difference in percent of oral care by hospital was not significant between high and low group in nurse staffing level. Conclusion: In order to reduce the occurrence of pneumonia in eldery patients, effective nursing interventions are not only required but also nurse staffing levels that enable nurses to provide the intervention.

We have investigated the database systems in several popular statistical packages. To handle more diverse types of data, many state-of-the-art data access technologies have been adopted to the new versions of statistical packages. One of the typical characteristics is that most systems provide direct and transparent access to data. We survey and compare those new functions. Also we propose our own system that allows seamless integration of data access capabilities with statistical packages. The system is modular and component based.
