Gasoline Direct Injection(GDI) Engines require a high pressure fuel system, i.e. high pressure fuel pump, injectors, fuel rail and high pressure line, in order to enable the injection of fuel directly into the combustion chambers. But high pressure fuel system emits an unpleasant noise during normal operation, particularly at engine idle. This paper focuses on how to reduce the acoustic noise caused by the individual high pressure fuel system using the S/W and H/W methods.

DCT has comfortable of change of speed automatic transmission and high efficiency of manual transmission at once. However DCT has complicated structure and is has difficult to develop. In this study, we apply the shift mechanism based on a barrel cam to indicate the efficient shift mechanism and we has gone to analysis of design to cam-profile such as cycloid curve, polynomial curve and modified sine curve.

This paper shows a whole noise developing procedure and items for the new developed 6th speed automatic transmission. Through the planetary operating frequency analysis, predict the planetary gear noise problem. To reduce this noise, one-way clutch, input shaft length, and valve body cover shapes were changed. To develop the transfer gear and differential gear noise quality, analysis procedure and experimental tests are also done and fix the tooth tolerance specifications. And gear grinding methods are also used . Due to demands for developing and reducing the serious abnormal bearing noise, oil pump noise and torque converter noise, some special test procedures and specifications are developed and adapted. By using the acoustic camera and lazer-vibrometer, radiation noise could be handled and reduced quickly and effectively. The whole developing process and results will offer good guides to the engineers who develop the next generation transmission.
연소최적화를 통한 EURO 5 승용디젤차량 연소음 개발

The optimization of injection parameters was performed to improve the combustion noise without deterioration of exhaust gas emission. The DoE(Design of Experiments) methods was used to minimize the number of tests and create experimental models. The injection parameters were optimized by the models obtained. Driving modes of a passenger vehicle with a diesel engine were simulated at anechoic chamber to verify the exhaust emissions and the combustion noise levels. The level of the combustion noise was reached to the development target with maintaining the exhaust emissions. This paper describes a new experimental approach for developing the combustion noise and illustrates some examples of results obtained.
