In a research on the practical dye-sensitized solar cell, a study on a large module have preference because module must be able to generate the proper current that is possible to convert electrically. So the parallel connection of dye-sensitized solar cells which outputs a large current easily is essential. However, there is a current loss in a paralle connection of dye-sensitized solar cells and the loss becomes larger according to increasing the number of parallel connection. In this study, we analyzed the cause of the current loss in the parallel connection by using the equivalent circuit analysis. One DSC used in this experiment had an active area 8cm²(4.62cmtimes1.73cm) and it attained a conversion efficiency of 5.43% under 1 sun illumination (P_{in} of 100 mW/cm²) using a solar simulator.

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) have been proposed as a substitute for overcoming the limitation of Si solar cells because DSC has the various applications using advantages of DSC such as low cost, transparency and flexibility. Although some people point out low efficiency of DSC as the important problem at present, general views say that actually cumulative power is not insufficient as compared with Si solar cell. Therefore, we analyzed the characteristics of both cells according to the change of incident angle in this study. The insensibility about the incident angle has more developable time. Finally, DSC is able to fill a shortage of power caused from low efficiency of DSC for same time by developing during impossible time to develop in Si solar cell. As a result, DSC has 75% and 210% cumulative power of Si solar cell in summer and winter under the standard sunshine duration.

A lot of researches and experiments have been performed to make more efficient dye-sensitized solar cell. Among them, insertion of a grid electrode in DSC is one method to increase overall performance as being shortened distance of electrons' movement by diffusion. In this paper, we measured overall characteristics which is included voltage-current characteristic curve, efficiency, fill factor by comparison between DSC without and with grid electrode. As a result, we got maximum 1.8 times increase of efficiency and approximately 1.7 times rise of fill factor. And we experimented 8, 10, 12, 14mm of grid gap and compared their results to optimize grid gap which is able to incite the most effective movement of electrons. Consequently, we got the result that electrons' movement is the most effect ive when grid gap is approximately 12mm.

In this study, we have attempted a new method to enhance the coloring of dye on the TiO₂ surface in the dye sensitized solar cell. In the conventional coloring process in a dye sensitized solar cells, dye is absorbed by the covalent bond between TiO2 and dye molecule while the photo-electrode coated with TiO₂ layer is soaked in dye solution for about 12-24 hours. But this process takes long time, so we have researched more effective and faster way than the conventional process by applying electric field. Three kinds of electric power such as direct voltage, alternating voltage and pulse voltage were applied to the transparent conducting oxide during the coloring process. As a result, we achieved improved power, fill factor and efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cell in case of applying direct voltage and pulse voltage. In contrast, alternating voltage tend to reduce the dye adsorption on the TiO₂ surface and hence the efficiency. We measured the absorption spectra of dye by UV-VIS spectrophotometer before and after soaking the TiO₂ in the dye and found no characteristic change in the dye was observed. In this study, we researched on shortening time of coloring process which spent much time in the whole process.

Dye-sensitized solar cell using transparent conducting oxide as electrode has large resistance such as surface resistance, charge transportation impedance in counter electrode and electrolyte, impedance between each interface. Among that resistances, surface resistance of transparent conducting oxide is relatively large. So the change of transparency has a large effect on internal resistance of dye-sensitized solar cell. Consequently, that change cause to increase or decrease the conversion efficiency. We tried to reduce the surface resistance by laser-scribing. The active area is seperated from total transparent conducting oxide by Nd:YAG laser-scribing. As a result, we achieved the improvement of efficiency about 7% and 11% in case of 0.25cm² and 1.00cm² dye-sensitized solar cells.

수막암종증은 암세포가 뇌수막에 침윤한 상태로 정의하는데 자기공명영상이 진단방법으로 쓰이기 전까지 진단이 용이하지 않았다. 또한 전립선암 환자에서 수막암종증이 생긴 경우는 매우 희귀하여 증례보고 형식으로 소수에서 보고 되고 있는 실정이다. 내원 11년 전 전립선암으로 근치적 전립선 절제술을 받고 내원 4년 전 골전이로 항암치료를 받은 병력이 있는 환자로 경련을 주소로 내원하여 시행한 반복적인 뇌척수액 검사에서 세포진을 발견하지 못했지만 뇌척수 액 전립선 특이항원 양성소견과 뇌 자기공명영상 소견으로 수막암종증을 진단하고 조직검사를 통해 확진하여 적극적인 치료로 생명연장을 할 수 있었던 사례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고한다. Meningeal carcinomatosis in patients with prostate cancer is very rare. Recently, we experienced a case of meningeal carcinomatosis in a patient with prostate cancer. He had undergone a radical prostatectomy 11 years before presentation and had undergone chemotherapy 4 years before presentation due to bone metastases. This time, he visited the emergency department because of a seizure. Although cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examinations did not reveal malignant cells, we diagnosed meningeal carcinomatosis based on positive CSF prostate-specific antigen and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings. The diagnosis was confirmed pathologically. We treated the patient with whole brain radiotherapy and intrathecal chemotherapy. We report a case of prostate cancer with meningeal carcinomatosis with a literature review. (Korean J Med 2011;81:262-265)
상대전극 Pt 두께에 따른 염료감응형 태양전지의 광전특성 연구

전세계적으로 에너지난과 환경오염난을 겪고 있는 가운데 최근 대체에너지에 대한 관심이 어느 때보다 높은 시기이다. 다양한 대체에너지 중에서도 태양광 에너지는 우리나라 환경에 적합해 많은 연구가 진행 중인 분야이다. 대부분의 태양광 발전 시장이 결정질 실리콘 태양전지가 차지하고 있으나 경제성의 한계로 인해 최근 염료감응형 태양전지가 이를 대체할 수 있는 전지로 주목받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 염료감응형 태양전지의 상대전극에 증착하는 백금층의 두께 변화가 가져오는 출력특성의 영향을 연구했다. 상대전극에 증착되는 백금 박막은 염료감응형 태양전지의 매커니즘에서 입사광의 반사와 전기화학적 촉매작용 역할을 하는 것으로 박막의 두께가 두꺼워지면 반사율이 증가해 염료 분자가 받는 에너지가 늘어날 것으로 예상했다. 상대전극에 백금 Sputtering하는 시간을 1분에서 최대 5분까지 차를 두어 상대전극의 백금 박막의 두께를 50nm{sim}250nm로 변화를 주어 측정한 결과, 250nm의 백금 박막층을 갖는 염료감응형 태양전지보다 백금 박막층이 150nm의 두께를 가질 때 가장 좋은 효율을 출력한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 통해 상대전극의 백금 박막층에 의한 거울 효과와 촉매작용의 한계와 전자의 흐름 장애에 대한 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

The field of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) is being researched actively at present. Because DSC has several advantages to pass the limits of Si solar cells such as a low manufacturing expense, a simple manufacturing process and its transparency. A lot of researches are underway about materials and processes in the field of dye-sensitized solar cell but its structure has been fixed up as the sandwich structure that both edges are used as positive and negative terminals. But the structure as of present is a factor of decreasing efficiency because the more electrons are recombined the further distance from terminal, considering about the characteristic of dye-sensitized solar cell that electrons generated inside cell are moved by diffusion. In this study, we made experiment on expanding the terminal to shorten internal moving distance of electron and compared the results according to the variation of active area to find out the effect of this trial. As a result, we achieved about 15.5% improvement of maximum power and 0.5% improvement of efficiency from terminal-expanded dye-sensitized solar cell of 2cm^{2} active area and concluded that the increasing rate of efficiency is raised as the active area becomes wider.
대장 용종에 국한되어 발생한 랑게르한스 세포 조직구증 1예

저자들은 무증상의 환자에서 시행한 검진 대장내시경에서 무경성 용종을 용종 절제술을 통해 제거하고 이에 대한 조직 검사에서 랑게르한스 세포 조직구의 침윤이 관찰되고 면역 화학 염색에서 S-100 protein과 CD1a 항원 양성 소견을 보여 랑게르한스 세포 조직구증을 진단하였으며 타장기 침범 소견이 없어 경과관찰 중인 증례를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. A 56-year-old male underwent a screening colonoscopy. An 8-mm sessile polyp was removed from the descending colon using snare polypectomy. Histology showed Langerhans cells and eosinophil infiltration of the submucosa. Immunohistochemical stain-ing was positive for S-100 protein and CD1a antigen, which confirmed the diagnosis of Langerhans-cell histiocytosis. On further workup, there was no evidence of involvement of any other organs. Here, we report a very rare case of colonic Langerhans-cell his-tiocytosis presenting as an isolated polyp.
