        In Vitro Antiviral Activity of Ribavirin Against Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Virus Myung Jin LEE1, Kye-Hyung KIM1, Jongyoun YI2, SuJin CHOI1, Chung-Jong KIM1, Nak- Hyun KIM1, Kyoung-Ho SONG1, Pyoeng Gyun CHOI1, Ji-Hwan BANG1, Wan Beom PARK1, Eu Suk KIM1, Sang-Won PARK1, Hong Bin KIM1, Nam Joong KIM1, Myoung- Don OH1 Seoul National University College of Medicine, Korea1, Pusan National University School of Medicine, Korea2 Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is an emerging infectious disease caused by a novel Bunyavirus, severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV). No effective antiviral therapy is proven yet, but clinical use of ribavirin (RBV) has been tried. We investigated the antiviral effect of RBV against SFTSV in vitro. Methods: To test for cytotoxicity of RBV, Vero cells were treated with different concentrations of RBV (3.90 to 500 μg/mL, two-fold dilution) and analyzed by cell viability MTS assay 48h post-infection. To determine antiviral activity of RBV against SFTSV, Vero cells were infected with SFTSV strain Gangwon/Korea/2012 at 100 TCID50 (50% tissue culture infective dose) per well in a 96-well plate, and RBV was added at the concentrations showing no or minimal cytotoxicity. Viral RNAs were extracted from the culture supernatants and quantifi ed using one-step real-time reverse transcription- PCR to amplify the partial large segment of SFTSV. Statistical analysis was done by one-way ANOVA with Tukey`s post hoc test. Results: Cytotoxicity due to RBV was not observed at RBV concentration =31.3 μg/ mL. Viral RNAs at 24h post-RBV treatment were reduced with increasing RBV concentrations (1-32 μg/mL), compared with those of mock-treated cells (P <0.01, Figure). Half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of RBV was 3.69 μg/mL at 24h post-RBV treatment. Conclusions: Our study shows that RBV has antiviral effect against SFTSV in a dose-dependent manner. Further studies are required to evaluate the effi cacy of RBV in SFTS.

        In content-base video data retrieval, the detection for scene change is needed. Color histogram approaches are generally used. Color histogram approaches are simple and more robust to object and camera movements but they ignore the spatial information and fail when two different frames have similar histograms. We propose a new algorithm to use color histogram and entropy to enhance the false-positive occurred by brightness variation and the miss by similar color histogram. At the experiments, it is more robust to brightness variation and have spatial information.

      • Wavelet 변환을 이용한 전동기 고장진단

        This study discusses the wavelet application for detecting moter faults using current signals. Diagnosis methods with current signals are very effective, inexpensive and simple methods. In this paper, several artificial faults; unbalance, broken rotor bars and some kinds of bearing faults, are made, and then electric motor currents are collected, processed and transformed that signals using wavelet for extracting proper features. The experimental results show that the effective detecting method can be obtained by using wavelet transform for current signals.

      • AgClBr Microcrystal의 결정성장과 Morphology에 관한 연구

        감광성 유제(AgClBr)의 제조에 있어 가장 중요한 변수인 할로겐화은염 결정의 크기 및 결정형태 변화를 물리숙성 온도, 반응물의 투입속도, 젤라틴 농도, 할로겐 이온(Cl^-, Br^-)의 농도비등을 변수로 하여 관찰하였다. 실험결과 물리숙성 온도가 증가함에 따라 형성된 AgClBr 결정의 크기는 증가하지만, 반면에 질산은과 할로겐화염의 주입속도의 증가는 AgClBr 결정의 크기가 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 또한 젤라틴의 농도 증가는 이온상태로 존재하는 반응물의 이동을 억제하여 결정을 성장하는데 요구되는 회합속도를 저하시켜 결과적으로 생성되는 결정의 크기가 감소하였다. AgClBr의 결정형태는 Cl^-과 Br^- 이온의 농도비에 따라 가장 민감한 변화를 나타냈으며, Br의 농도비가 증가함에 따라 AgClBr 결정은 cubic형에서 round 형태로 변화하는 경향이 관찰되었다. The preparation and the morphology of silver chlorobromide crystals were studied by double-jet method. The crystal size and morphology of silver chlorobromide have been estimated by SEM photos. The influence of physical ripening temperature, rate of addition of reactants, concentration of gelatin and molar ratio of two hailde ions on the crystal growth and change of crystal morphology of obtained silver chlorobromide microparticles were investigated. The crystal size of silver chlorobromide were grown in propotion to increasing of ripening temperature, however the increasing of rate of addition of reactants induced decreasing of crystal size. The crystal morphology of photosensitive silver chlorobromide varied from cubic to round type by the increasing of concentration of bromide ion.

        Lupus erythematous panniculitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of subcutaneous fat that occurs in 2-3% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus. Lupus erythematous panniculitis typically presents with firm, indurated subcutaneous nodules or plaques commonly developed in proximal extremities, trunks, head and neck. Face, breast and upper extremities involvement with lupus erythematous panniculitis has been infrequently reported. We report a case of lupus erythematous panniculitis developed in a 27-year-old female confirmed by histologic features and laboratory findings.

        Louis I. Kahn의 디자인 개념과 형태 요소에 따른 평면구성 SCHEMA에 관한 연구

        Design is a result from representation of visual language by designer's creative thinking and reasoning, and operated only in our internal organization system. Design as ill-defined problem cannot be described logically and perfectly. Depend on situation, design require subjective analysis. and It has the organization of What is Rank character. But because "Concept" is only considered in the designer's thinking system, shape vocabularies that actually can be used for expressions of design are extremely restricted. Sometimes design should start with changing situations, unclear requirements, subjective analysis. But design concept can control design thinking system from starts to productions. Design concepts are stored in our brains and retrieved as three major types such as elements, relationships and schema. One of these words, the schema that formed by problems settlement and process repetitions for the best conclusion, not only play an important part in the designer's thinking system about a specific problem but also appeared by distinctive features and included by connotations as like a designer's ideology. At this point. The purpose of this study is that analyze not only the formative expression but also modeling process of design elements in modern architectural design to establish a clear-system of "Design Operating System" and to show the "Characteristic of Plane Organization" by the he Architectural Design Elements and the Relationship through the Design of Louis I. Kahn. and Design knowledge as elements, relationships and schema have been explained to understand "Design System" operated in our brains. Upon these studies, design of Louis, I. Kahn have been analysed.

      • 전류측정에 의한 AC서보모터의 언밸런스 고장검출

        Using current measurement, the analytic method for the unbalance fault detection of 3Φ induction servomotor was proposed. The fault detection of the load unbalance has been studied by means of the measure of vibration. In the conventional method, the additional vibration sensors are set up to measure the vibration properly, but the method introduced in this paper, a current sensor for motor control is used for measuring the load current, so there is no need for additional sensors. After measuring the current caused by unbalance load, the FFT spectrum of the measared current were analyzed and compared with the spectrum pattern of the balanced load. Varying the motor speed by 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 rpm, some characteristic frequency for detecting the unbalance fault were found. These experimental results show that the proposed current measuring method is more simple, easy, and effective than the conventional vibration measuring method.

        This paper discusses the diagnosis of motor for detecting the air gap eccentricity, broken rotor bars and outlace fault of bearing. For developing of the on-line monitoring system, a simple method of current spectral analysys is proposed. Though it is processed within a limited range of frequency for simplicity, but it can be obtained the possible detecting frequency for monitoring the some motor faults. The experimental results give the proper frequency and amplitude dB levels for detecting the motor faults.

        This study applies sensorless strategy that is based on detecting of terminal voltages for sensing the rotor position in real time. And, by providing high PWM frequency, a current ripple and a torque pulsation are removed. Also, and accuracy of position detection at high speed are improved and a high speed operation range is expanded. The sensorless driving system is implemented with an IPM module and 87C196MC one-chip microcontroller. For confirming the validity of the proposed methods. experimental results from a prototype motor of rating 300W have shown. From the results of experiment, the Performance characteristics of high speed operation for permanent magnet brushless DC motor (BLDCM) driving systems are improved.

        NiAl/Ni₃Al 2상 합금의 상변태 및 미세조직에 미치는 제3원소 첨가효과

        The microstructural evolution of b-NiAl/γ' -Ni3Al two-phase (Ni_(66)Al_(34))_(100-x)X_(X)(X=Ti, Si, Nb) alloys during various heat treatment (quenching and aging) were systematically studied. It was found that the microstructural features of the two-phase NiAl/Ni₃Al alloys could be divided into three types : lamellar, mesh and Widmansttten microstructures. The reason why those three types of microstructure were formed could be explained by the change of austenite start temperature(As temperature) depending on the ternary elements. In case of As>250℃, the lamellar microstructure was formed by following phase transformation: Martensite→Ni5Al3→β+γ' . In this case, the NiAl martensite was quickly transformed into the Ni5Al3 phase at 250℃ by a re-ordering reaction. In case of 20℃ <A_(s)<250℃, two types of mesh microstructure were formed depending on the ternary element. When Ti and Nb were added as a ternary element, the β→Ni_(5)Al3 transformation occurred very quickly, but not in the case of Si addition. Hence, the final mesh microstructures showed somewhat different microstructural features. On the other hand, in case of A_(s)<20℃, the direct β→β+γ' transformation occurred because the martensitic transformation could not occur due to its very low M_(s) temperature, resulting in the Widmanstatten type microstructure.
