      • 고수동굴의 관광특성과 개발에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to analyze the tourism characteristics of Gosu-Cavern by examining its tourism resources and tourists' behavioral patterns. Field work and questionnaires were administered after a review of literature. The questionnaires numbering 220 were collected from the study area. Major findings from the study show: Gosu-Cavern, one of the most popular limestone caverns of Korea, consists of a various speleothems: stalactite, stalagmite, column and flowstone; it is assumed to have been created about 450 million years ago; As for tourists' residential distributions, this area can be classified as the Seoul Metropolitan Circle and Danyang and Choongcheong type; The most frequent response on visiting type was the one accompanied by family and friends(65.4%); In regard to leigh of stay, a majority of respondents(82.3%) answered 'over 4 hours'. For means of transportation, around half the tourists(48.2%) used their cars; Satisfaction with its internal features was generally high(90.9%). Based on the findings, the following suggestions can be made; 1) natural caves such as Gosu-cavern offer not only National Cultural Assets but also useful leisure spaces for tourists. Accordingly, the continuous management of caves, establishment of internal facilities, and eventually the measures to harmonize their environments and the resources are required: 2) in the case of development of caves, advertising strategies by various media need to be developed in order to be well-known. For this, it is urgent to train the tour guides to explain in detail the mysterious features of the second formation of the caves. 3) in the cases of development of many tour courses, the cooperation between Danyang-gun and its close areas, along with the connection with any other caves and tourism resorts in this area should be considered.

      • 관광호텔의 경영혁신기법과 성과의 관계에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study is to find a relationship between management innovation and its results in tourist hotels. To achieve the aim of this study, a document study and an empirical analysis were performed simultaneously. The collected questionnaires for the empirical analysis were processed statistically through data coding. The results of the study derived through this process are summarized below. 1) It shows that adaptation levels and the necessity of downsizing, re-engineering, re-structuring, TQM, and benchmarking effect the financial result of the hotel business. It is also necessary to realize that improving strategies and decisions concerning techniques relating to the program of a progressive management team, target, aim, and range, accurate vision, appropriate resources and budget, adaptation and planning, selecting proper manpower, evaluating results, and professional knowledge of usage effect the financial results. 2) It shows that adaptation levels of micro techniques effect the non-financial results of the hotel business. To accomplish this, it is necessary to utilize learning organization, competitive strategy, knowledge management, strategy alliance, staff consciousness, vision making, constructing new information systems, and outsourcing techniques.

      • 청미래덩굴의 뿌리에서 추출한 조분획의 항균활성

        청미래덩굴(Smilax china L.)의 뿌리에서 추출한 methanol, n-hexane, chloroform 및 수용성 추출물의 항균활성을 Agrobacterium rhizogenes, Agrobacterium tumefaciens, Candida utilis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus natto, Bacillus subtilis 및 Escherichia coli에 대하여 disc diffusion과 broth dilution method로 조사하였다. Methanol추출물은 A. rhizogenes, A. tumefaciens, B. megaterium 및 B. subtilis 대하여 항균활성이 나타났고, 수용성 추출물은 B. megaterium와 B. subtilis에 대하여 항균활성을 보였으나 hexane과 chloroform 분획물은 항균활성이 없었다. 또한 수용성 추출물은 800ppm 농도에서 현탁배양중인 A. rhizogenes, A. tumefacience, B. megaterium 및 B.subtilis에 대하여 각각 80, 40, 20, 81%의 성장 억제를 보였고, 특히, 동일 농도의 수용성 추출물을 재첨가한 경우 B. subtilis의 성장이 완전히 억제되었다. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry에 의한 추출물의 분석 결과, 그 주요 구성 성분은 5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-furancarboxaldehyde(46.95%), 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one(21.08%) 및 2-furancarboxaldehyde(5.85%)였다. Antimicrobial activity of four extract fractions from the root of Smilax china L.(Liliaceae) was investigated by diffusion and broth dilution methods against several microorganisms, Agrobacterium rhizogenes, Agrobacterium tumefaciens, Candida utilis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus natto, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Methanol extract exhibited potent antimicrobial activity against A. rhizogenes, A. tumefaciens, B. megaterium and B. subtilis. However, hexane and chloroform extracts did not show antimicrobial activity against the test microorganisms. Aqueous extract inhibited growth of the tested microbial strains. The relative growth inhibition of A. rhizogenes, A. tumefaciens, B. megaterium and B. subtilis were 80, 40, 20, 81% at 800㎍/mL, respectively. Methanol extract was analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry(GC/MS). Major components were determined to be 5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-furancarboxaldehyde(46.95%), 2,3-dihydro-3,5-dihydroxy-6-methyl-4H-pyran-4-one(21.08%) and 2-furancarboxaldehyde(5.85%).

        An Experimental Study of Ventilation Effectiveness in Mechanical Ventilation systems using a Tracer Gas Method

        The ventilation effectiveness is evaluated as a function of air exchange rate and supply / extract locations in a simplified model chamber using a tracer gas technique of CO$_2$ gas injected into a supply duct. Ventilation systems consist of supply and extract fans, a CO$_2$gas generator, a CO$_2$gas analyzer and a test chamber. The ventilation effectiveness is evaluated using a step-down method based on ASTM Standard E741-83. The room mean age of the model chamber is decreased with increasing air exchange rate fanged from 6to 10 air changes per hour. The ventilation effectiveness of the mechanical inlet/natural extract system is better than that of the mechanical extract system.

      • Proteinticle Engineering for Accurate 3D Diagnosis

        <P>In nature certain proteins are self-assembled inside cells to form nanoscale particles (named “proteinticles”) with constant structure and surface topology. Unlike chemically synthesized nanomaterials (<I>e.g</I>., various metal, carbon, and polymer nanoparticles), a variety of functional proteinticles can be easily created through genetic modification of the proteinticle surface, <I>i</I>.<I>e</I>., by adding or inserting specified proteins/peptides to the N- or C-terminus or the internal region of the protein constituent. Here we present proteins/peptides that recognize disease-specific antibodies on the surface of human ferritin based proteinticles for accurate 3D diagnosis of human autoimmune and infectious diseases. The surface display of the extracellular domain of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) with native conformation successfully discriminated between autoantibodies to native or denatured MOG, leading to the reliable diagnosis of multiple sclerosis with enhanced accuracy. Also we simultaneously displayed different antigenic peptides from hepatitis C virus (HCV) on the same proteinticle surface with modulating the composition of each peptide. The proteinticles with the heterogeneous peptide surface detected anti-HCV antibodies in patient sera with 100% accuracy.       • 이차성 고혈압에 의한 신손상과 레닌 상승을 동반한 원발성 알도스테론증 1예

        원발성 알도스테론증은 혈장 알도스테론의 증가와 혈장 레닌 활성도의 감소를 특징으로 하는 질환으로서 혈장 레닌 활성도의 감소는 알도스테론 의존성 나트륨축적과 체액의 증가에 기인한다. 본 저자들은 이러한 일반적인 소견과는 달리 혈장 레닌 활성도의 증가를 동반한 부신 선종에 의한 원발성 알도스테론증 1례를 경험하였다. 본 환자의 경우 치료를 위해 부신 절제술을 시행하였고 수술 중 혈장 레닌 활성도의 증가 원인감별을 위해 신생검을 시행하였다. 그 결과 조직학적으로 고혈압에 의한 신조직 손상이 관찰되었고 이것이 알도스테론 분비선종임에도 불구하고 혈장 레닌 활성도의 감소 소견이 없었던 이유로 생각되었다. 부신절제술 후 정상 혈압으로 회복되지는 않았지만 수술 전보다 항고혈압제의 복용 용량이 감고』어 호전된 양상을 보였다. 본 증례를 통해 원발성 알도스테론증에 의한 심각한 고혈압을 가진 환자의 경우 고혈압 자체에 의한 신장 손상이 병발되면 혈장 레닌 활성도의 감소가 아닌 증가 소견을 나타낼 수 있다. 본 환자의 경우 수술 전에는 고혈압 조절을 위해 spironolactone을 사용하여 부분적으로 조절이 되었으나 수술 후 저용량의 항고혈압제에도 적정 혈압을 유지할 수 있었다. 따라서 이미고혈압에 의한 신손상이 온 경우에도 수술적 제거로 치료 효과를 거둘 수 있음을 시사해 주었다. An increased plasma aldosterone concentration, with suppressed plasma renin activity (PRA), is an abnormal finding in primary hyperaldosteronism. A suppressed PRA is caused by aldosterone-dependent sodium retention and extracellular volume expansion. A case of primary hyperaldosteronism, due to adenoma, with increased PRA, was observed. Anadrenalectomy and intraoperative renal biopsy was performed. In our patient, histologically provenrenal arteriosclerosis was the probable cause of the escape of the PRA from the suppression by analdosterone-producing adenoma. Normal blood pressure was not attained after the adrenalectomy. However, the blood pressure was then controlled by small doses of antihypertensive drug before resection of the tumor. In this case, the patient was treated with spironolactone, but the blood pressure was not correctly controlled. After the adrenalectomy, the blood pressure was well controlled with smaller dose of calcium channel blockers. So, an early adrenalectomy may be beneficial as soon as the diagnosis of an aldosterone-producing adenoma is confirmed, even in patients with hypertensive nephrosclerosis(J Kor Soc Endocrinol 18:433∼438, 2003).
