Estimations of Regional Stress Based on Measured Local Stress

Estimations of regional stress are demonstrated in this paper. Firstly, regional stress is defined and the characteristics of regional stress are then discussed based on the local stresses measured by the Compact Conical-ended Borehole Overcoring (CCBO) technique and the results from the earthquake focal mechanism. Secondly, the regional stresses are estimated by a back analysis of three-dimensional finite element models, using the local stresses measured by the CCBO and hydraulic fracturing.

이중 비틀림 시험에서 유도 홈의 형상이 암석의 응력부식지수에 미치는 영향

구마모토 안산암을 대상으로 이중 비틀림(DT) 시험을 통해 유도 흠의 단면 형상이 암석의 응력부식지수에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 정변위속도법에서 변위속도가 증가할수록 균열성장속도는 증가하지만 파괴인 성계수는 평균 2.07 MN/m<SUP>3/2</SUP>로 거의 일정하였다. 정변위법을 통하여 유도 홈의 형상이 사각형, 원형, 삼각형인 시험편을 이용하여 얻은 응력부식지수는 각각 평균 37, 36, 38로 홈의 형상에 관계없이 거의 일정한 값을 보이지만 표준편차는 삼각형 홈에서 가장 크게 나타났다. 암석의 DT시험은 중앙부에 유도 홈이 있는 시험편을 이용하는 것이 효과적이지만 광물의 평균입경 이상의 폭을 가진 사각형 단연의 홈을 이용하는 것이 가장 적절하다. Double torsion (DT) tests were carried out to investigate the influence of the geometry of guide groove on stress corrosion index of Kumamoto andesite. The fracture toughness was measured in the constant displacement rate, which was set to 2.07 MN/m<SUP>3/2</SUP> in average regardless of crack velocity. Stress corrosion indices, 11 were evaluated using specimens with rectangular, circular and triangular grooves and were 37, 36 and 38 in average, respectively. The n values were constant regardless of the groove geometry, however the DT specimen with triangular groove geometry showed the largest standard deviation in the relationship between crack velocity and stress intensity factor. The DT test was found to be effective in using a rectangular-grooved specimen and the width of the groove must be greater than the average grain size of minerals.

자연환경하에 있는 암석의 풍화특성과 풍화된 암석의 강도평가를 위하여 다양한 크기의 아소 가족묘비석을 대상으로 탄성파 속도를 측정하였다. 그 결과 크기가 다른 시료를 동일한 크기로 환산하여 탄성파 속도를 평가하는 크기 보정법과 새로운 암석 풍화지표로서 NET(Normalized Elapsed Time)를 제안하였다. 또한 NET을 이용한 암석 풍화 분류로부터 풍화암석에 대한 강도를 추정하였다. 용결응회암의 경우 탄성파 속도는 높고 속도 저하는 거의 나타나지 않았지만, 안산암의 경우 탄성파 속도는 낮고 속도저하 현상이 관찰되었다. VP/V0-NET 곡선에 근거한 NET를 이용할 경우 크기가 다른 다양한 암석에 대해 같은 크기로 풍화정도를 비교할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 Sc/S0-NET 곡선에 의한 NET을 이용하여 암석의 풍화단계 분류가 가능하였으며, 이것으로부터 풍화 암석에 대한 강도추정도 가능하였다. Wave velocity was measured to define the weathering characteristics of rock and the strength evaluation of weathered rock on a target of the Aso gravestones with various sizes under the natural environment. As a result, the size correction method which was changed sample of the different size to one of the same size for evaluating wave velocity was proposed, and also suggested the NET (Normalized Elapsed Time) as a new weathering index of rock. In addition, the strength of the weathered rock was estimated from the weathering classification of rock using the NET. Wave velocity of welded tuff was high and didn"t show velocity degradation, on the other hand, one of andesite was low and showed velocity degradation. The degree of weathering between rocks of the different size is considered to be comparable, applying the NET based on the VP/V0-NET curve. Furthermore, the classification of rock weathering stages using the NET based on the Sc/S0-NET curve was available, and the estimation of strength for the weathered rock was also possible.
