We construct a continuous-type, three-tier agency model with hidden information and collusion a la Tirole (1986, 1992), thereby providing a framework that can address the problem of global pollution control. By extensively utilizing the Monotone Comparative Statics method, the First Order (Mirrlees) approach and a graphical explanation, we characterize the nature of the equilibrium contract that the Supra-National Regulator (SNR) can implement under the possibility of collusion by the government and the firm. We compare the two-tier vs. three-tier regulation structures from the SNR’s viewpoint, and then obtain a comparative statics result on the accuracy of monitoring and the possibility of collusion. We further examine whether the SNR has an incentive to adopt the dual supervision structure, with reference to “Regulatory Capture”.

Background: Reports that smoking infl uences the regional cerebral fl ood fl ow (CBF), brain atrophy, and cognition in Parkinson disease (PD) are few. Methods: Regional CBF and brain atrophy, and cognition were studied in PD with (PDS) or without (PDNS) a smoking habit, and normal non-smoking controls. Results: PD groups (PDS and PDNS) had a decreased CBF. BDI and FAB scores in PD groups were lower compared with those in controls. Also FAB scores in PDS were lower compared with those in PDNS. Conclusions: Results of the decreased CBF could be associated with the results of BDI, FAB and WMS-R in PD.
‘An Incomplete Contract Approach to Eurozone Fiscal Governance’ – Commitment vs. Flexibility
Yutaka Suzuki,Yoshihiro Tsuranuki 한국국제경제학회 2017 International Economic Journal Vol.31 No.2
In this paper, we take an incomplete contract approach to Eurozone Fiscal Governance between the European Commission (EC) and any heavily debt member state, Greece in particular. Incomplete contract approach makes possible to put a long process of Eurozone Fiscal Governance into an extensive form game in which a renegotiation procedure is incorporated. We theoretically reveal the conflict of interests between the EC (Germany) and Greece over the Greek debt repayment plan proposed in 2015. We show that the Greek’s position is consistent with incomplete contract theory, but that the EC (Germany) does not allow the renegotiation for restructuring for growth-oriented debt repayment program proposed by the Greek government because the EC (Germany) judges that the commitment effect (on fiscal austerity) is greater than the flexibility one (pro-growth effect). This will undoubtedly provide a novel and interesting approach to Eurozone Fiscal Governance.
Fitting CAD data to scanned data with large deformation
Shintaro Suzuki,Yutaka Ohtake,Hiromasa Suzuki 한국CDE학회 2020 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.7 No.2
Recently, largely deformed simulation models, such as car crash simulations, have been in high demand. To evaluate such models, it is necessary to use actual deformation results to compare and validate them. When measuring actual deformed objects, an X-ray CT is useful because it is non-destructive. However, matching undeformed CAD data and scanned deformation data is difficult. We propose a system for users to set control points or control lines on feature points and predict deformation using affine transformation with the moving least squares method. In the proposed method, undesirable distortions are reduced by evaluating scaling using singular value index and introducing offset control points. The deformed CAD data are obtained by matching predicted CAD data and a polygon mesh generated by deformed CT data. In addition, the surface elements of the generated deformed CAD data are evaluated for CAE.
