This study was conducted to investigate the optimal conditions of collagen extraction from scales of yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) using surface response methodology. Four independent variables of NaOH concentration and pretreatment fime in alkali pretreatment and enzyme concentration and treatment time in enzyme hydrolysis were used to predict a model equation for the collagen yield. The determinant coefficient ($R^2$) for the equation was 0.906. The values of the independent variables for the maximum yield were 0.32 N NaOH, 16.38 h alkali pretreatment time, 0.18% enzyme concentration, and 31.02 h enzyme treatment time. In the physicochemical properties of tuna scale collagen, sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of tuna scale collagen showed the same migration distances as that of calf skin collagen. The amide A, I, II, and III regions of tuna scale collagen in Fourier transform infrared measurements were shown in the peaks of 3,414 $cm^{-1}$, 1,645 $cm^{-1}$, 1,553 $cm^{-1}$, and 1,247 $cm^{-1}$, respectively. The amount of imino acids in tuna scale collagen was 18.97% and the collagen denaturation temperature was $33^{\circ}C$. The collagen solubility as a function of NaCl concentration decreased to 4% NaCl (w/v) and the collagen solubility as a function of pH was high at pH 2-4 and sharply decreased from pH 4 to pH 7. Viscosity of the collagen solution decreased continuously until $30^{\circ}C$ and this decreasing rate slowed in the temperature range of $35-50^{\circ}C$.

최근 스마트폰 사용이 빠른 속도로 늘어나고 있다. 사용자의 연령층도 다양해지고 애플리케이션의 종류와 범위도 확장되고 있다. 가계부 애플리케이션은 초창기부터 꾸준히 개발되어 왔지만 아직 부족한 면이 많다. 기본적인 소비 패턴 분석과 그래프를 통한 피드백은 대부분의 가계부 애플리케이션이 제공하고 있으나 한계가 있다. 또한 모든 연령층에 대한 고려는 찾아보기 힘들다. 본 논문은 현 가계부 애플리케이션이 갖추지 못한 기능인 음성 인식 입력 지출 유형 분석 및 개선방향 제시 PDF 파일 생성을 통한 스마트폰과 PC간의 상호작용을 중점으로 기반 기술에 대해 서술한다. 개발된 애플리케이션은 사용하기 쉬운 UI와 위젯을 통하여 사용자의 편의를 제공한다.

Aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and obesity are independently associated with an increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and ASCVD is the leading cause of mortality in patients with NAFLD. A significant subset of NAFLD patients are lean, but their ASCVD risk compared to obese NAFLD subjects is not well known. Methods: Data from the 2008-2011 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys database were analyzed (n=4,786). NAFLD was defined as a comprehensive NAFLD score (CNS) ≥40 or a liver fat score (LFS) ≥-0.640. ASCVD risk was evaluated using ACC/AHA guidelines. High probability of ASCVD was defined as ASCVD risk >10%. Results: Prevalence of subjects without NAFLD, obese subjects with NAFLD, and lean subjects with NAFLD was 62.4% (n=2,987), 26.6% (n=1,274) and 11.0% (n=525), respectively. Subjects with lean NAFLD had a significantly highest ASCVD score and prevalence of high ASCVD risk (mean 15.6±14.0 and 51.6%), whereas subjects with obese NAFLD was in the middle and those without NAFLD was in the lowest (mean 11.2±11.4 and 39.8% in obese NAFLD and mean 7.9±10.9 and 25.5% in control without NAFLD, all P<0.001). Lean NAFLD subjects with significant liver fibrosis showed significantly higher OR for risk of high probability of ASCVD than obese subjects with significant fibrosis, compared with subjects without significant liver fibrosis (OR=2.60 versus 1.93; P=0.023). Conclusions: Despite partially a more favorable metabolic profile, subjects with lean NAFLD had a significantly higher ASCVD score and prevalence of high ASCVD risk than subjects with obese NAFLD. Similarly, lean subjects with significant liver fibrosis showed higher OR for risk of high probability of ASCVD than obese subjects in the sub-population with NAFLD.
A CAD Client on a Smart Device with Drag-type Buttons

Smart devices were developed and widely used recently, so it has been applied in the industrial field. If the mobile technology is applied to the CAD field, the user can get many advantages such as high mobility and ease of collaboration also. For developing a feature-based CAD system available on smart devices, we suggested a system using multi-touch inputs in 2012, which was a stand-alone system available without network. But it cannot be created complex shapes itself, because of the absence of the modeling kernel for the mobile platform and low computing power of smart devices. To solve this problem, this study proposed a client-server system for smart device CAD. When modeling commands are created from drag-type buttons, on each step, the analyzed modeling commands are sent to the server, the server creates the model and sends it to the smart device, then the smart device visualizes the modeling result. This system can make more complex models than the existing system. This study compared the developed system with the existing system for verifying the usability of the smart device CAD, and further, also suggested how to extend this system to the collaborative system. This smart device CAD system can increase the mobility and cooperativity of the CAD system.
Identification of 12 radiation-resistant bacterial species in the phylum Proteobacteria new to Korea

In 2019, after a comprehensive investigation of indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total of 12 bacterial strains assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria were isolated from soil. With the high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>98.8%) and formation of a robust phylogenetic clade with the closest species, it was determined that each strain belonged to independent, predefined bacterial species. This study identified two species in the family Burkholderiaceae, one species in the family Comamonadaceae, two species in the family Oxalobacteraceae, one species in the family Micrococcaceae, one species in the family Bradyrhizobiaceae, one species in the family Methylobacteriaceae, one species in the family Rhizobiaceae, one species in the family Rhodocyclaceae, and one species in the family Sphingomonadaceae. There is no official report about these 12 species in Korea, so are described as unreported bacterial species in Korea in this study. Gram reaction, basic biochemical characteristics, colony, and cell morphology are also described in the species description section.
