Background: Nephrotic syndrome (NS) and proteinuria are uncommon, often unrecognized manifestations of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Only a few isolated case reports and case series involving smaller number of patients who developed NS after HSCT have been published. Methods: We reviewed the renal histopathological examination findings and clinical records of 15 patients who developed proteinuria after HSCT at Seoul and Yeouido St. Mary′s Hospital (Seoul, Korea). We also measured the anti-PLA2R antibodies (M-type phospholipase A2 receptor) in the serum samples from the seven patients at the time of renal biopsy. Results: All patients had GVHD. The most common indication for biopsy was proteinuria (41 g/day), with nine patients having nephrotic range proteinuria. The most common histopathological finding was membranous nephropathy (MN; n ¼ 12). Other findings were membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, C1q nephropathy, and diabetic nephropathy. Eleven patients were treated with immunosuppressive agents, and three patients were treated only with angiotensin II receptor blocker. The overall response rate, including complete remission (urinary protein level o0.3 g/day) and partial remission (urinary protein level ¼ 0.31?3.4 g/day), was 73%. The mean follow-up period was 26 months, and none of the patients developed end-stage renal disease. All of the seven patients with MN had negative findings for anti-PLA2R antibodies, measured using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kit. Conclusion: In this study the findings of 15 renal biopsies were analyzed and to our knowledge this is the largest clinicopathological study of GVHD-related biopsy-proven nephropathy. Approximately 80% of the patients were MN and 73% responded either partially or completely to immunosuppressive treatment. Currently, there is an increase in the incidence of GVHD-mediated renal disease, and therefore, renal biopsy is essential for diagnosing the nephropathy and preventing the progression of renal disease.

저자들은 슬관절의 전이로 인한 증상이 내원 당시의 첫 증상이 되어 진단된 직장암 1예를 경험하였기에 이를 문헌고찰과 더불어 보고하는 바이다. Knee pain is rarely an initial symptom of colon cancer, because most bone metastases develop in the late stage of cancer. Therefore, patients with colorectal cancer usually present with gastrointestinal symptoms. Recently, we experienced a 46-year-old female with rectal cancer that presented as knee pain due to tibial metastasis without other organ metastasis. She was evaluated for knee pain and diagnosed with a rectal cancer after biopsies of the tibial and rectal masses. We report the first such case in Korea with a review of the literature. 고 이소플라본 함유 콩잎의 저장 온도와 기간에 따른 영양학적 성분과 항산화 활성 변화

본 연구는 고 이소플라본 함유 콩잎을 5, 25 및 55 ℃에서 180 일간 저장하면서 지방산, 아미노산, 무기질, 이소플라본, 총 phenolics, 총 flavonoids 및 라디칼 소거활성 변화를 확인하였다. 총 지방산 함량은 저장 기간에 따라 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 총 아미노산 함량은 저장 0일에 1313.81 mg/100 g에서 5, 25 및 55 ℃에서 180일째 각각 1776.15, 1693.93 및 1551.18 mg/100 g로 증가하였다. 총 무기질 함량은 저장 초기(51.65 mg/100 g)에 비해 5, 25 및 55 oC에서 180일째 각각 49.93, 50.20 및 61.21 mg/100 g로 검출되었다. 총 이소플라본 함량은 저장기간 중 비교적 큰 변화가 없었다. 55 ℃에서 180일 저장의 경우, glycosides와 aglycones은 각각 2195.13과 480.61 μg/g로 증가하였으며, malonylglycosides는 1289.48 μg/g로 감소하였다. 한편, 총 phenolics 및 총 flavonoids 함량은 0일 저장 시료에서 각각 9.31과 8.61 mg/g에서 180일째 각각 9.97과 9.30 mg/g으로 약간 증가하였고, 이에 상응하여 DPPH, ABTS 및 hydroxyl 라디칼 소거활성은 저장 0일째 각각 30.91, 55.98 및 23.27%에서 180일째 37.10, 62.54 및 30.95%로 증가하였다. This study investigated that change of the nutrients (including fatty acids, amino acids, and minerals) and total phenolic (TP), total flavonoid (TF), and isoflavone contents and antioxidant activities during the storage of soybean leaves containing high isoflavone contents at 5, 25, and 55 ℃ for 180 days. The contents of free amino acids were increased from 1313.81 mg/100 g at 0 day to 1776.15, 1693.93 and 1551.18 mg/ 100 g at 5, 25, and 55 ℃ storage for 180 days, respectively, but the values of fatty acids were little unchanged. The contents of minerals were detected from 51.65 mg/100 g (0 day) to 49.93 (5 ℃), 50.20 (25 ℃), and 61.21 (55 ℃) mg/100 g at 180 days, respectively. The levels of total isoflavones did not change during the storage periods. In case of storage at 55 ℃, the contents of glycosides (1347.78→2195.13 μg/g) and aglycones (342.79→ 480.61 μg/g) increased during storage, while the levels of malonylglycosides (2209.22→1289.48 μg/g) decreased. Also, the TP and TF contents were slightly increased from 9.31 and 8.61 mg/g at 0 day to 9.97 and 9.3 mg/g at 180 days, corresponding to the radical scavenging activities of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrydrazyl, 2,4,6-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphnoic acid), and hydroxyl increased from 30.91, 55.98 and 23.27% from 37.10, 62.54, and 30.95%, respectively.

This paper presents a method for considering fatigue life requirements in the optimal design of structures. The basic concept is to use the load history data combined with the finite element stresses of the structure and the material fatigue properties to calculate the fatigue life during the optimization process. Response surface methodology is used to construct response surface approximation for the fatigue life of structures with complex geometry and loading conditions. Thus, this study estimates fatigue life using rainflow counting and Palmgren-Miner method for variable amplitude loading and proposes response surface method for optimization. Response surface for fatigue life prediction is generated by D-optimal design method and is applied to optimal design of end beam by using fatigue life as constraints.

This study aimed to investigate the change in physicochemical properties and lactic acid bacterial communities during kimchi fermentation at different temperatures (8, 15, and 25 ℃) using two molecular genetics approaches, multiplex polymerase chain reaction and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The pH during fermentation at 8, 15, and 25 ℃ decreased from 6.17 on the initial fermentation day to 3.92, 3.79, and 3.48 after 54, 30, and 24 days of fermentation, respectively, while the acidity increased from 0.24% to 1.12, 1.35, and 1.54%, respectively. In particular, the levels of lactic acid increased from 3.74 g/L on the initial day (day 0) to 14.43, 20.60, and 27.69 g/L during the fermentation after 24, 18, and 12 days at 8, 15, and 25 ℃, respectively, after that the lactic acid concentrations decreased slowly. The predominance of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in the fermented kimchi was dependent on fermentation stage and temperature: Lactobacillus sakei appeared during the initial stage and Leuconsotoc mesenteroides was observed during the optimum-ripening stage at 8, 15, and 25 ℃. Lac. sakei and Lactobacillus plantarum grew rapidly in kimchi produced at 8, 15, and 25 ℃. In addition, Weissella koreensis first appeared at days 12, 9, and 6 at 8, 15, and 25 ℃ of fermentation, respectively. This result suggests that LAB population dynamics are rather sensitive to environmental conditions, such as pH, acidity, salinity, temperature, and chemical factors including free sugar and organic acids.

In the 10th anniversary of professional soccer, I studied the old achivement and records in each pro-soccer team. Then the Istudy shows a conclusion such as this. 1. When it comes to the number of audience, they were 511,118 members at 84 games in 1990 season. But in 1991 they were 1,316,426 members at 107 games. Among them 687,808 members entered the stadium. It showed that 124.6 persent increased. The average audience were 6025 members. It showed that 199 percent increased. 2. In the main parts record of `92 season, each team had no failure in succession. They were 16 games in Po-Chleul team and 21 games in Dea-Woo team, the Dea-Woo team made a new record as they had no failure through 21 games in succession. Dea-Woo gained the maximum 52 points but 7 points were behind compare to 59 points in 1984. 3. In the side of the refereeing assignment, the assignment were 120 thimes as a chief referee and 240 times as a linesman, Both of them were 360 times in a season. 8 members were submitted to disciplinary punishment. 4. When it comes to the Dae-Woo team score du;ring `91 season, they won the title 3 times and the semifinals twice, the 3rd rank twice and once in both 4th and 5th rank. Among 40 gamesm they won the 17 games had 18 tie games and lost 5 games. They won with 49 score, 32 lesing point and 52 winning point. They won the title with no failure at the 21 games in succession. 5. In the side of Hyun-Dai team score, they kwon the title once, the semifinals twice, the 4th rank twice and noce in both 5th land 6th rank. They won the 13 games, had 16 tie games and lose 11 games. They win the semifinals with 35 score, 34 losing points and 42 winning point. 6. In the side of Po-Cheul team score, they won the title twice, the semifinals twice, the 3rd rank with 39 score, 40 losing points and 37 winning points. 7. When it comes to the Yu-kong team score, they won the title once, the semifinals twice, the 3rd rank 3 thimes, and twice in both 4th and 5th rank. They won the 10 games, had 17 tie games and lost 13 games. They were in the 4th rank with 38 score, 40 losing points and 40 winning points. 8. When it comes to the Il-Hoa team score, they had the 5th rank twice and the 6th rank once. They won the 13 games, had 11 tie games and lost 16 games. They were in the 5th rank with 56 score, 63 losing points and 37 winning points. 9. When it comes to the Lucky-Gold star team score, they won the title twice, semifinals twice and once in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7the rank. They won the 9 games, had 15 tie games and lost 16 games. They were in the lowest rank with 44 score, 53 losing points and 33winning points. 10. When it comes to the score in each time, they had the least goal between 10 minutes at the first half of a game. They had the Iklargest 36 goals between 20 and 30 minutes at the second half of a game.
