Total rate of Gram Negative Bacilli is 8.9% with infection of 267 cases. Gram Negative Bacilli were isolated from milk of the mastitis and was investigated the Antibiotic resistance and biochemical properties. The results were as follows: 1) The bacteria were recognized as E. coli (30.5%) Enterobacter spp. (20,2%), Shigella spp. (13.5%), Klebsiella spp. (4.4%), Citrobacterspp. (8.9%), Pseudomonas spp. (8.9%), and Proteus spp. (4.4%) inbiochemical properties. 2) The E. coli were predominatingly resistant to Penicillin, Ampicillin, Bacitracin, Amikacin, Colistin, Streptomycin anb Oxytetracycline. 3) Enterobacter were highly resistant to Cephalothin, Oxytetracycline, Ampicillin, Clidamycin, Cloxacillin, Colistin arid Penicillin. 4) Klebsiella spp. were conspicuously resistant to Ampicillin, Cephalothin, Chloramp-henicol, Cloxacillin, Erythromycin and Penicillin. 5) Citrobacter spp. were highly resistant to Amikacin, Ampicillin, Cephalothin, Clidamycin, Cloxacillin, Erythromycin, Penicillin and Streptomycin. 6) Pseudomonas were highly resistant to Amikacin, Ampicillin, Cephalothin, Clindamycin, Cloxacillin, Erythromycin, Penicillin and Streptomycin. 7) Proteus spp. were resistant to Colistin, Gentamycin, Ampicillin, Cephalthin, Chloramphenicol, Clindamycin, Cloxacillin, Erythromycin, Penicillin, Polymyxin, Streptomycin and Oxytetracycline,

<P>To enhance the thermal stability of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) fiber, the fiber was prepared from the gel spinning of high molecular weight (HMW) PVA by using dimethyl sulfoxide/water (8/2, v/v) as a solvent, accompanied with the cross-link by boric acid (B-PVA). In addition, the structure and properties of the B-PVA fiber were compared with those of the HMW PVA fiber obtained by using the same spinning system without cross-linking (NB-PVA). Through a series of experiments, it turned out that cross-linking actualized by an optimum amount of boric acid (0.3 wt % based on PVA) and zone drawing caused significant changes in the properties of HMW PVA gel fiber. That is, cross-linking increased thermal degradation temperatures at each degradation step and amounts of final residues, resulting in improving thermal properties of the PVA fiber. On the contrary, it was found that in the case of the B-PVA fiber, some broadening of the original PVA unit cell occurred, which was identified by the peak shift to lower angle in X-ray diffractogram. The tensile strength and Young's modulus of B-PVA fiber with draw ratio of 15 are 23.1 and 308.3 g/d, respectively. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009</P>
국내(國內) 무지개 송어(松魚)에서의 IPN 바이러스의 분리(分離)

Infectious pancreatic necrosis(IPN) virus was known as a causative agent of newly recognized viral disease of young rainbow trout characterized by highly contagious, high mortality and necrosis of pancreas. Several strains of IPN viruses were recovered from young rainbow trout that have been shown a typical cinical sign of infectious pancreatic necrosis disease. The field isolate produced cytopathic effect, and multiplied up to $10^{6.0}$ to $10^{6.5}$ $TCID_{50}/0.1ml$ in BT cell culture. In the indirect immunofluorescent assay with trout anti-IPN virus IgG and goat anti-trout IgG FITC conjugate, these isolates were proved to be a IPN virus that were closely related with VR277 strain of IPN virus antigenically.

Detection of Torovirus-like particles from calves with diarrhea

Torovirus-like particles이 심급성의 설사로 폐사한 송아지의 분변으로 부터 검출되었다. 설사로 폐사한 송아지는 2주령으로 설사증상을 보인 5두중 2두였으며 심한 설사증상을 보인지 24시간만에 급성폐사를 나타내었다. 나머지 3두도 심한 설사증상을 보였으나 항생제 및 수액요법으로 치료를 한 후 회복되었다. 전자현미경으로 관찰된 바아러스 입자는 Woode et al이 관찰한 Torovirus 입자와 동일하였으며 그 크기는 원형입자일 경우 70~90nm의 크기로 8~10nm의 Peplomer를 가지고 있었다. 그러나 바이러스이 입자형태는 소, 돼지 그리고 사람에서 보고된 Torovirus와 마찬가지로 다양하였으며 Tube 형태로 된 것은 길이가 약 150nm에 달하기도 했다. 이 보고는 국내에서의 송아지 Torovirus 감염증의 첫 보고이며 국내에서도 Torovirus가 존재한다는 것을 입증한 것이다.

Fifty young calves, about five to six months old purchased from nation-wide were investigated with the prevelance of neutralizing antibody (Ab) of infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus (IBRV), parainfluenza 3 virus ($PI_{3}V$), bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV). The positive detection ratio of neutralizing Ab against IBRV was only 3% and two of positive samples showed low antibody titer (below 2). Ab against BRSV showed 48% of positive ratio and among 24 positive samples, antibody titer of 23 samples were below 3. But in the case of BVDV, 68% of samples were positive and 23 samples appeared to possess high antibody titer, above 4 and the antibody titer of five samples were above 8. The highest positive result came from $PI_{3}V$. The positive ratio in the samples investigated in this study was 72%, but the antibody titer of positive samples were generally below 3 (77.8% in positive samples).

After orthognathic surgery, postoperative complications are studied by many clinician. The complications include sensory disturbance, jaw fracture, excessive bleeding, condylar positional changes and loss of pulp vitality. Few surgical procedures are as satisfying for the surgeon and patient as a well-done orthognathic surgery. On the other hand, the patient is more satisfied with the result than who are treated with only orthodontic treatment especially in severe deformity case. There are problems that patient overcome but it is not serious complications. One of these, the problem about loss of pulp vitality can't influence function but give a lot of discomfort to the patient. From September 1997 to January 1998, 7 patients who are treated for dentofacial deformity via Le Fort I osteotomy or anterior segmental osteotomy were examined pulp sensitivity using digital pulp tester. This preliminary study have a focus on the investigation of recovery of pulp vitality. The electric pulpal test were used at preoperative, postoperative, at intervals. And we report some results acquired from this study. Following result are obtained 1. In anterior segmental ostetomy case (1 case), total 12 teeth were examined. Postoperative 8 weeks, 1 tooth are positive reaction 2. In Le Fort I osteotomy case (6 case), total 71 teeth were examined. Postoperative 8 weeks, 5 teeth are positive reaction.
