下水處理 方法選定에 관한 硏究

본 연구는 하수 처리방법에 있어 각 처리방법별, 처리수량별 부지 면적과 건설비, 유지 관리비에 대한 보다 효율적이고 경제적인 하수 처리방법 선정에 도움이 되고자 함이 본 연구의 목적이다. 결론을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 부지 면적의 경우, 생물막여과법이 처리수량에 관계없이 타 방법에 비해 가장 경제적이다. 2. 건설비의 경우, 처리수량이 500m³/day에서는 산화구법, 회전원판법, 생물막여과법이 경제적이고, 생물막여과법의 경제적 처리 범위는 5,000m³/day이하이다. 3. 유지관리비의 경우, 표준 활성오니법에 비해 회분식 활성 오니법, 접촉 폭기법, 생물막여과법이 유지 관리에 유리하며, 8,000m³/day 경우 접촉 폭기법이 가장 유리하다. This study is aimed at finding efficient sewage treatment method of various systems and capacities, areas for sewage treatment, construction costs, maintenance costs. Conclusions are followed as below; 1. In the case of area for sewage treatment, biological aerated filter system is concluded as economical method. 2. In the case of construction cost, 500m³/day treatment amount, oxidation ditch process, rotating biological contactors, biological aerated filter system are regarded as efficient method. 3. In the case of maintenance cost, sequencing batch reactors, submerged filter process, biological aerated filter system require less cost than conventional activated sludge process.

소아의 하악 과두 골절에 대한 고찰

Of all facial fractures in children, condylar fractures have the greatest propensity to produce a growth disturbance. This risk appears to be greatest when the injury is during the first 3 years of during adolescence. Yet, the ability of a child to undergo compensatory growth that decrease the effects of the injury is also the greatest. Fracture dislocation of the condyle in the preadolescent often results in excellent remodeling and function. Because of this factor and the higher risks of avascular necrosis and ankylosis open reduction of a condylar fracture in a child is not widely recommended. This retrospective study analyzed mandibular condyle fractures in the children who admitted in dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pusan paik hospital from 1984 to 1993 clinically and radiologically.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma is malignant neoplasm belonging to a group of tumors of salivary gland origin. It is an aggressive tumor characterized by slow growth and incidious destruction of surrounding tissues. Perineural invasion is a prominent feature. Spread to regional lymph node is rare, other than by direct extension. Distant metastasis are more common. We experienced a 65-year old female with adenoid cystic carcinoma of minor salivary gland in retromolar pad.

하악골 관절 과두돌기 골절의 임상적 연구

하악골 과두돌기 골절은 하악골에 있어서 자주 일어나는 골절중의 하나이며, 이 부위는 해부학적 구조로 이상적인 Reposition ( )이 통례적으로 불가능 하다고 할 수 있을 정도로 어렵기 때문에 치료방법이 선택적으로 이용된다. 수술후 충분한 악관절기능을 발휘하는데 문제가 있을수도 있기 때문에 (Arthropathia deformans) 치료 계획을 세우는데 있어서는 우선 관절기능이 정상적으로 회복되어져야 하며, 또한 악관절 강직에 따른 안면골의 발육 부전으로 인한 악골기형을 고려하여야 한다는데 치료의 촛점이 두어져야 한다. 본인은 1981년 부터 1987년까지 인제대학부속부산백병원에서 치료한 바 있는 73명을 대상으로 (88골절선) 임상조사와 문헌적 고찰을 통하여 악관절 과두돌기 골절에 대한 치료방법의 선택기준 및 합병증 방지에 그 일익을 하고자 이 연구를 시행하였다. Fractures of the mandibular condyle are among the most frequently occuring facial bone fractures. Anatomical structures around the joint inhibit the ideal reposition of the fragments, so variable treatment modalities have been tried selectivly. There can be functional disturbances postoperatively, and normalization of joint function must be considered primarily in treatment planning. Secondly, the possible joint ankylosis and facial deformity following developmental disturbance of facial skeleton must be considered. The authors reviewed 73 patients treated in Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Inje College of medicine Pusan Paik Hospital from 1981 to 1987. Also literatures were reviewed, and we obtained some reference points concerning the selection of the treatment modality and prevention of the possible complication.

고분자 전해질형 연료전지에서 Hot Pressing 조건의 영향

고분자 전해질형 연료전지에서 고분자막/전극 어셈블리를 hot pressing 조건을 달리하여 제조하고 그 성능을 반응면적 5㎠인 단위전지에서 측정하였다. 전지의 성능은 고분자막과 전극간의 접합이 가능한 온도 범위에서 hot pressing온도가 낮을수록, hat Pressing 압력이 높을수록 향상되었다. 즉, 고분자 전해질형 연료전지의 성능은 고분자 전해질 내의 수분 함량 증가, 고분자막/전극간 접촉저항 감소 및 얇은 고분자막을 사용한 전해질의 이온저항 감소 등으로 향상시킬 수 있었다. For a proton exchange membrane fuel cell, membrane and electrode assemblies were fabricated by different hot pressing conditions and those performances were observed in a unit cell having 5 ㎠ active electrode area. The cell performance increased with lower hot pressing temperature in the range of temperature having intimate contact between membrane and electrodes and with higher hot pressing pressure. Namely, the performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cell could be raised with higher water content in the membrane, with lower contact resistance between membrane and electrodes and with lower ion resistance of the electrolyte using thinner membrane.

Dubliners` Suppressed Anger: An Intertextual Reading of “Counterparts” and “The Dead”

This article examines the possibility of reading “The Dead” as a counterpart to “Counterparts,” focusing on anger and reading the return of Michael Furey in “The Dead” as an embodiment of a revived of anger of Joyce’s Dubliners, an anger that is often suppressed in many other characters. The two stories reveal a stark contrast in their articulation of anger: while “Counterpart” shows how Farrington has to suppress his fury until he spots a body weaker than him at home, Gabriel Conroy experiences his re-awakening of an intense anger long forgotten. The fury, though ignited by a romantic rivalry with Michael Furey for Gretta, is not only personal; it is collective in the sense that it comes from the misrecognition of Dubliners who are oblivious of their own marginalization. The sentiment naturally hovers, as does the spirit of Furey, around the whole story. Gabriel’s identification with Furey and even others in the end is significant in this sense; the identification is a sign for recognition of the people’s shared but ignored rage against their underprivileged condition. The final story of Dubliners, while revealing, on the one hand, how rigid the paralyzing effects of their social condition have been, suggests, on the other, the possibility of undoing such effects through the return of the repressed with his fury.

Writing a New Script for Boys: Crisis and Recuperation of Masculinity in The Four Feathers

This paper argues that A. E. W. Mason`s The Four Feathers displays ways in which Victorian masculinity is reconstructed when its old model can no longer be transmitted from the former generation. In their imperialist undertakings overseas, late Victorians, unlike their predecessors, suffered a series of defeats and subsequent mental anguish. Masculine ideology had been the main prop for the Empire, so it was inevitable for the Victorians and Edwardians to imagine a new masculinist script in ways that would allow them to incorporate and sublimate such experiences. The Four Feathers, suffused with the memory of defeats in the Sudan campaign, portrays the male protagonist Harry Feversham`s regaining his honor after his initial and ignominious retreat from the assigned course for men. As the old scenario of masculinity in the-Name-of-the-Father does not work anymore for the young generation, a new imagination was necessary for male subjects to construct their masculinity. Central to this process, of course, was role of women, as their assigned role of femininity both defines masculinity and inspires men to live up to social expectation of masculinity. Indeed, as a paragon of femininity, Ethne plays a decisive role in Harry`s redemption and Durrance`s reestablishment of masculinity. The Four Feathers, on the whole, is a rewriting of a dominant masculinist script through which the value of masculinity is redeemed and reestablished.

Surveillance and Death in The Real Charlotte: A Foucauldian Reading

This paper examines the ways in which Somerville and Ross’s Irish novel The Real Charlotte is engaged with the act of surveillance. Both Charlotte and Francie, the heroines of the novel, function as objects and instruments of disciplinary power under the surveillance system. Unlike Francie whose sexual appeal constantly makes her the object of the gaze, Charlotte’s ugliness impels her to choose the act of surveillance as a way of fulfilling her desires. Her performance as a quasi-doctor, for example, at the moments of others’ death (or illness), though momentarily, enables her to achieve what she desires. Charlotte’s success, however, like other successes, is limited in the power structure of the novel where power moves constantly and operates unexpectedly. Death in The Real Charlotte illuminates such a point. Even though it has helped Charlotte achieve her ambition to some extent, it deprives her not only of her most desired object but also of any further possibility of fulfilling it. Charlotte’s disclosing to Lambert of her plotting revenge against him, at the very moment of Francie’s unexpected death, precludes her from winning him when he is at long last available again. Furthermore, Charlotte, in place of Francie, becomes the object of the narrative surveillance. Unfolding its narrative in ways that reveal Charlotte’s real character via her tricks and manipulations, The Real Charlotte makes it clear that no one can be free from the operation of power.

Tungtungmadic Acid, a Novel Antioxidant, from Salicornia her-bacea

Tungtungmadic acid (3-caffeoyl-4-dihydrocaffeoyl quinic acid) is a new chlorogenic acid derivative that was isolated from the Salicomia herbacea. The structure of tungtungmadic acid was determined using chemical and spectral analysis. The antioxidant activity of tungtungmadic acid was evaluated using various antioxidant assays, including free radical scavenging, lipid peroxidation and hydroxyl radical-induced DNA strand breaks assays. Tungtungmadic acid ($IC_{50}\;=\;5.1\;{\mu}M\;and\;9.3\;{\mu}M$) was found to have higher antioxidant activity in the DPPH scavenging assay as well as in the iron-induced liver microsomal lipid peroxidation system. In addition, the tungtungmadic acid was also effective in protecting the plasmid DNA against strand breakage induced by hydroxyl radicals.
