      • 산업폐기물인 제강 슬래그쇄석을 사용한 콘크리트의 역학적 특성

        제강슬래그는 환경오염 방지와 에너지 절감 효과를 얻을 수 있는 콘크리트로 재활용 될 수 있다. 반요인실험법을 사용하여 제강슬래그를 굵은골재에 일정한 비율로 혼입한 콘크리트의 최적배합설계 제시를 위한 예비 실험에서 제강슬래그의 굵은골재 혼입율, 물-시멘트비, 잔골재율, 슬럼프와 같은 주요 변수와 변수 사이의 2차 상관관계를 파악하였다. 예비실험을 한 결과 제강슬래그를 굵은골재로 100%까지 혼입했을 때 제강슬래그를 혼입한 콘크리트의 강도 발현에 가장 변수는 물-시멘트비로 분석되었고, 제강슬래그의 굵은골재 혼입율은 강도 발현에 가장 중요한 변수는 물-시멘트비로 분석되었고, 제강슬래그의 굵은골재 혼입율은 강도 발현에 거의 영향이 없는 것으로 분석되어 제강슬래그를 콘크리트의 굵은골재로 대체할 수 있다는 것을 알게 되었다. 변수 사이의 2차 상관관계에서는 제강슬래그의 굵은골재 혼입율과 잔골재율의 상관관계가 콘크리트의 강도 발현에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 목표압축강도를 만족하는 제강슬래그를 혼입한 콘크리트의 최적배합설계는 제강슬래그의 굵은골재 혼입율, 물-시멘트비, 잔골재율에 관하여 제시하였다. An experimental study os performed to examine the feasibility of using wastes steel furnace slag consturction materials and its utility as a replacement for the natural resources to prevent the economic loss was investigated. A half factorial exprements was performed with the variables of W/C ratio, S/A, Coarse aggrigate/Slag ratio and slump as a preliminary study for optimum mix design of concrete. The results show that the W/C ratio and Slump ratio are the most important factor to the concrete strength. The substitute of waste Slag up to 100% has little infleunce, saying that it can substitute te coarse aggregate without damaging the concrete properties.

        산국의 수량과 유효성분에 대한 NPK의 효과

        본 연구는 3요소(N-PO_2O_5-K_2O)처리가 산국(Chysanthemum boreale M.)의 수량과 유효성분에 미치는 효과를 조사하여 효과적인 재배시스템을 개발하고자하였다. 처리구는 무처리, NPK(250-160-160), NK(250-0-160), PK(0-160-160kg/ha)의 5처리로 설정하여 산국을 재배한 결과, 건물수량은 NPK처리구가 PK처리구에 비하여 4.0배의 증수가 있었으며, 다른 처리구보다 무기이온의 흡수율, 생육 및 수량에서 NPK처리구가 가장 우수하였다. 식용으로 많이 쓰이는 꽃의 주요 아미노산은 proline, glutamic acid과 aspartic acid이였고, 다른 처리구들에 비하여 NPK처리구가 높은 함량을 보였다. 혈압강하효과가 우수한 cumambrin A는 PK처리구에 비하여 NPK처리구가 6.2배의 증수효과가 있었다. NK처리구는 NP처리구보다 cumambrin A의함량을 높이기 위해서는 인산의 시용보다 칼리의 시용이 더 요구되며, 야외포장에서의 인산과 칼리의 적정 시비량의 설정이 필요하다고 판단된다. To establish the fertilization condition to increase the productivity of Chrysanthemum boreale M. with high quality, the effects of three nutrients (N, P, K) on the yields and the effective components were investigated in the pot scale. NPK was applied by chemical fertilizers with N-P_2O_5-K_2O = 250-160-160 kg/ha as a main treatment, and NP (N-P_2O_5 = 250-160 kg/ha), NK (N-KO = 250-160 kg/ha), and PK (PO_2-KO_5 = 160-160 kg/ha) treatments were settled as comparison. Dry yields of C. boreale M. was increased significantly to 4 fold higher by nitrogen. Nitrogen increased apparently plant growth and inorganic nutrient uptake. In the flower, which is most useful and edible part as a herbal medicine, main amino acids were glutamic acid and aspartic acids, and the total content was increased significantly by three elements of application. In addition, the content of cumambrin A, which is known to have the effect of blood-pressure reduction, was increased source to 6.2 times by nitrogen higher than that in PK treatment. Potassium was more effective in biosyndiesis of cumatnbrin A than phosphorus, but the biological pathway was not clear, still.

      • 중추신경계에서의 효모 가수분해물이 음식섭취조절기전에 미치는 영향

        Saccharomyces cerevisiea, which has been known as antistress compounds, was hydrolyzed by proteinase producing SCP-20. The addition effects of SCP-20 on the food intake regulation mechanism were studied measuring the expression amount of neurotransmitters, such as NPY and NOS, which can increase food intake in hypothalamus, and CCK, which can decrease food intake by using immunohistochemistry method. The 0, 2, and 5 g/kg SCP-20 was orally administrated to the experimental animals for one week. The expression of NPY and NOS was increased in the group of 5 g/kg administrated animals while that of CCK was increased in the group of 2 g/kg administrated animals. The results of this study suggested that SCP-20 may influence the control mechanism of oral dose-dependently. Further studies are needed to elucidate the roles of SCP-20 on the changes of food intake regulation controlling neurotransmitters.

        한국 비만 여성의 신체 계측에 의한 체지방 추정

        연구배경 : 국내 비만 여성을 대상으로 비용이 적게 들고 단순하면서도 보다 정확하게 체지방률을 추정할 수 있는 체지방률 추정식을 작성함으로써 쉽게 체지방률과 조절해야하는 지방의 양을 판단할 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 방법 : 이대목동병원 비만클리닉을 처음으로 내원한 19세 이상의 성인 여자 607명 중 체질량지수가 25 kg/㎡ 이상인 500명을 연구대상으로 하여 목, 가슴, 허리, 엉덩이, 대퇴, 하퇴, 발목, 상완, 전완, 손목의 10부위의 둘레와 생체전기저항분석법 (bioelectrical impedance analysis, BIA) 방식의 체성분 분석기를 이용하여 체지방률을 측정하였다. 체지방률 추정식을 구하기 위해 BIA에 의한 체지방률을 종속변수로 하고 , 신체 둘레 계측기 및 신장, 체중, 체질량지수, 연령을 독립변수로 하여 단계별 다중회귀분석 (multiple stepwise regression)을 시행하였다. 결과 : 신장과 체중, 연령, 체질량지수 및 신체 둘레 측정치 중 체지방률을 반영하는 지표는 체질량 지수, 전완둘레, 신장, 엉덩이 둘레, 하퇴둘레였고, 이 다섯가지 지표를 이용한 체지방률 추정식은 66.1%의 예측력과 2.86%의 측정 오차를 나타냈다 (R^2=0.661, SEE=2.86). 결론 : 비만한 성인 여성에서 신장과 체중, 연령 및 신체 둘레 계측치를 이용한 본 연구의 추정식은 체지방률(%)을 적은 오차범위로 비교적 정확하게 반영하였다. Background : This study was conducted to develop a regression equation that accurately estimates body fat percentage using relatively easy and inexpensive method in adult obese Korean women. Method : Data were collected among 500 obese Korean women visiting obesity clinic in Ewha woman's university Mokdong hospital, Seoul, Korea. Height, weight, and circumferences at ten body sites (neck, chest, waist, hip, thigh, calf, ankle, arm, forearm, wrist) were measured s well as total body bioelectrical impedance. Results : The full regression equation estimates body fat percentage included six variables : BMI, forearm circumference, height, hip circumference, thigh circumference. This equation accounted for 66.1% of the variance in body weight measured by bioelectrical impedance, and their standard error of estimate was 2.86%. Conclusion : For the obese Korean women in this study, circumference measurements provided a s relatively good estimation of body fat percentage.

        맥문동 발효음료의 주요 화학성분에 관한 연구

        Major chemical components of sweet drink and vinegar prepared with Liriopis tuber were investigated sensory quality. The contents of total soluble solid, total sugar, non-reducing sugar, total saponin, ash and protein in the processed of Liriopis products ranged 7.71~10,67%, 4.94~9,77%, 1.98~4.67%, 0.80~0.59%, 0.40~0.36%, and 0.44~0.49%, respectively. In addition, levels of succinic, malic and acetic acid in the products ranged 78.9~96,3, 23.6~6.3 and 12.7 ~2686.0㎎/100㎖ respectively, Meanwhile, the sweet drink contained 1.89㎎%(w/v) of hydroxyprolin, 0,39㎎%(w/v) of glutamic acid, 0.22mg%(w/v) of arginine, 0.15㎎%(w/v) of citruline and 0.11㎎%(w/v) of potassium. The vinegar contained 2.89㎎%(w/v) hydroxyprolin, 248.2 ㎍/100ml glutamic acid, 99.2 ㎍/100ml arginine, 205,5 ㎍/100㎖ citruline and 143.46㎍/100㎖ potassium.

        버섯 피클(Pickle) 제조 및 저장 중의 품질변화

        The mushroom pickles were prepared as a processed mushroom product. The changes in pH, total acidity, brix, color and texture of the mushroom pickles (Lentinus edodes, Pleurotus ostreatus, Agaricus bisporus and Pleurotus eryngii) were measured during storage at 4℃. In addition, sensory evaluations on the mushroom pickles were performed. While the pH of Lentinus edodes and Pleurotus ostreatus pickles declined slowly, the pH of Agaricus bisporus and Pleurotus eryngii pickles declined rapidly during storage, The total acidity of Lentinus edodes pickles rose slowly, while the acidity of Pleurotus ostreatus, Agaricus bisporus and Pleurotus eryngii pickles rose rapidly, As for the color of mushroom pickles, "L", "a" and " b" values changed slightly. The changes in texture were determined by a rheometer, Hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess and brittleness of Lentinus edodes pickles were lower than those of the other mushroom pickles. In the sensory evaluation of mushroom pickles, Lentinus edodes showed higher acceptability ratings than the other mushrooms in taste, color, clearness, texture and overall acceptability. This study showed that among the mushrooms tested, Lentinus edodes was the most acceptable mushroom pickle for storage.

        Long-term cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients: full report of the Korean Hypertension Cohort

        Background/Aims: This study evaluated the long-term cardiovascular complications among Korean patients with hypertension and compared them with that of controls without hypertension. Methods: The Korean Hypertension Cohort (KHC) enrolled 11,043 patients with hypertension and followed them for more than 10 years. Age- and sex-matched controls without hypertension were enrolled at a 1:10 ratio. We compared the incidence of cardiovascular events and death among patients and controls without hypertension. Results: The mean age was 59 years, and 34.8% and 16.5% of the patients belonged to the high and moderate cardiovascular risk groups, respectively. During the 10-year follow-up, 1,591 cardiovascular events (14.4%) with 588 deaths (5.3%) occurred among patients with hypertension and 7,635 cardiovascular events (6.9%) with 4,826 deaths (4.4%) occurred among controls. Even the low-risk population with hypertension showed a higher cardiovascular event rate than the population without hypertension. Although blood pressure measurements in the clinic showed remarkable inaccuracy compared with those measured in the national health examinations, systolic blood pressure (SBP) ≥ 150 mmHg was significantly associated with a higher risk of cardiovascular events. Conclusions: This long-term follow-up study confirmed the cardiovascular event rates among Korean hypertensive patients were substantial, reaching 15% in 10 years. SBP levels ≥ 150 mmHg were highly associated with occurrence of cardiovascular event rates.

      • Protective mechanism of morin against ultraviolet B-induced cellular senescence in human keratinocyte stem cells

        <P><I>Purpose</I>: Ultraviolet-B (UVB) irradiation is a major inducer of DNA damage in the epidermis. Here we investigated the protective mechanism of polyphenolic phytonutrient, morin against UVB-induced DNA damage in human keratinocyte stem cells (KSC).</P><P><I>Results and conclusions</I>: After confirming the characteristics of the KSC, we examined the protective ability of morin against the cell damage of KSC under UVB irradiation condition. As a result, morin significantly inhibited the UVB-induced damage to KSC. These inhibitory effects by morin were also confirmed by the senescence-associated beta-galactosidase and alkaline comet assays. Next, we monitored the effects of morin on the UVB-induced production of inflammatory cytokines. Morin significantly decreased the production of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and interleukin-6 in the UVB-irradiated KSC. Also, morin significantly inhibited the UVB-induced phosphorylation of ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM), serine threonine kinase checkpoint kinase 2, tumor suppressor protein 53 (p53), c-Jun N-terminal kinase/stress-activated protein kinase, p38/mitogen-activated protein kinase, S6 ribosomal protein, and histone 2A family member X in KSC. Furthermore, while UVB irradiation induced p53 reporter activation in KSC, morin significantly inhibited UVB-induced p53 reporter activation in KSC. In addition, mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2, p53 E3 ubiquitin protein ligase) inhibitor significantly increased the p53 reporter activation in the UVB-irradiated KSC, but morin decreased the MDM2 inhibitor-mediated increase in p53 reporter activation. On the contrary, ATM inhibitor did not affect the protective effect of morin in UVB irradiation-induced p53 reporter activation. Collectively, these findings suggest that morin could effectively enrich the p53 specific ligasing ability of MDM2 in UVB irradiation-induced p53 activation.</P>
