      • Improved Inventory Management for Retail Stores based on Intelligent Demand Forecasts

Xiaomin Zhu,Xi Xiang,Donghua Chen 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.8

In order to meet the increasing daily demands of customers and reduce the unnecessary cost in retail stores as far as possible, the inventory management of retail stores becoming more and more important. However, because of various characteristics of demand in retail stores, the traditional demand forecasting technologies can’t work well. In this paper, we use the modified K-means clustering analysis to help determine the groups with different characteristics of demand. In addition, a demand forecasting model integrated BP neural networks and grey model is proposed to make the prediction more intelligent and general. The example illustrates that the proposed method for forecast is feasible by the comparative analysis between the predicted values and the actual values.

Striking Dispersion of Recrystallized Poly(ethylene glycol)-Poly(lactic acid) Solvent-Casting Blend

        Xiaomin Zhu,Ran Huang,Tian Zhong,Ajun Wan 한국고분자학회 2015 폴리머 Vol.39 No.6

The solvent casted poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and poly(lactic acid) (PLA) blend was recrystallized by the thermal treatment of a heating and cooling cycle. The high PEG content blend (30 wt%) showed a striking dispersion behavior, that the materials rapidly dispersed and dissolved in the aqueous environment in a few hours. This phenomenon has not been reported by others, and was not observed in low PEG content samples of 5%, 10%, and 20%, or quenched(amorphous) samples. We hypothesized the mechanism that the chain rearrangement during the thermal treatment leads to the phase separation. And with the phase separation in the recrystallized samples, the PEG potions rapidly dissolved in the aqueous environment, left out the small PLA spherulites being separated and dispersed in the solution. The same underlying reason can also be inferred from the degradation behaviors of other samples. Characterizations of DSC, XRD, and SEM have been done to validate our hypothesis.

Preparation and Characterization of Regenerated Cellulose Blend Films Containing High Amount of Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) in Ionic Liquid

        Xiaomin Zhang,Jin Zhu,Xiaoqing Liu 한국고분자학회 2012 Macromolecular Research Vol.20 No.7

Regenerated cellulose/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) blend films in ionic liquid 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (AMIMCl) were successfully prepared by coagulating with water. The structures and properties were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). SEM images indicated that there was good compatibility between cellulose and PVA. The XRD results showed that the crystallinity of cellulose was significantly decreased from 42.8% up to 29.4% with increasing PVA content. The blend film with a 10 wt% PVA demonstrated the best mechanical performance. Its tensile strength and modulus showed 97 and 5,100 MPa, respectively compared with 69 and 3,400 MPa of neat cellulose film. The elongation also increased 50%. In addition, the transparency of the blend lms was still maintained well, and the shrinkage of the regenerated cellulose film was greatly improved with incorporation of PVA. The possible mechanism of forming cellulose/PVA blend films was proposed in the process of regeneration and dissolution.

Crystallization and Mechanical Properties of Continuous Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polyether-ether-ketone Composites

        Kaili Zhu,Hongsheng Tan,Yajie Wang,Changheng Liu,Xiaomin Ma,Jie Wang,Haini Xing 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.4

The effect of two different continuous carbon fibers (CCF1 and CCF2) with different material properties onstructure-properties of continuous carbon fibers reinforced polyether-ether-ketone prepreg tapes (CCF/PEEKPT) prepared bya wet powder impregnation process were investigated. The effects of fiber content on the tensile properties, dynamicmechanical behavior, crystallization melting behavior and fracture morphology of prepared prepreg tapes were performed bythe dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscope (SEM)etc. The results showed that, the tensile strength of CCF1/PEEKPT increased with increasing of the carbon fiber contentwithin 50-75 wt%. Meanwhile, the tensile strength of 50-65 wt% CCF2/PEEKPT had the same change trend, but thendecreased when the fiber content of composites was higher than 65 wt%. The storage modulus (E′) of composites increasedwith adding content of carbon fiber. The composites still maintained high deformation resistance when the temperature roseto 290 oC. Compared with pure PEEK, the crystallinity and crystallization rate of the composites both increased with theoccurrence of fiber inducing PEEK crystallization, but the crystallization onset temperature, crystallization temperature andmelting temperature of CCF/PEEKPT moved to low temperatures with adding of fiber content. In general, these observationssuggested that CCF hindered the movement of the polymer chain segment and constrained the spherulites growth of PEEKfor CCF/PEEKPT.

Guaranteed Cost Consensus for a Class of Fractional-order Uncertain Multi-agent Systems with State Time Delay

        Liping Chen,Xiaomin Li,Xiang Li,Min Zhu,Ranchao Wu,António M. Lopes 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.11

This work investigates the guaranteed cost leader-following consensus of a class of uncertain fractionalorder (FO) multi-agent systems (FOMASs) affected by state time delay. The leader and following group are exposed to norm-bounded time-varying parametric uncertainty and time-delay. A delay- and order-dependent consensus protocol is developed which guarantees robust stability of the controlled system and ensures that the effect of uncertainty on the system performance is below some prescribed index. The FO Razumikhin theorem and the linear matrix inequality approach are adopted to derive the method that can be applied to FOMASs with deterministic parameters. The analysis can be extended to distinct consensus problems for different types of FOMASs. Three numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the approach.

Distribution of diagenetic alterations within depositional facies and sequence stratigraphic framework of fan delta and subaqueous fan sandstones: evidence from the Lower Cretaceous Bayingebi Formation, Chagan sag, China–Mongolia frontier area

        Wei Wei,Xiaomin Zhu,Mingxuan Tan,Chenbingjie Wu,Dianbin Guo,Hui Su 한국지질과학협의회 2016 Geosciences Journal Vol.20 No.1

Linking siliciclastic diagenesis to sequence stratigraphy allows a better understanding of the parameters controlling the spatial and temporal distribution of diagenetic alterations. A study of the subaqueous fan and fan delta sandstones of the Bayingebi Formation, Lower Cretaceous, Chagan sag (China), reveals that the distribution of diagenetic alterations can be constrained within a sequence stratigraphic framework. Eogenetic alterations, which were encountered in the sandstones of subaqueous fan and fan delta, include: (1) replacement of detrital silicates and mud matrix by kaolinites in sandstones of the late highstand systems tract (HST) and the lowstand systems tract (LST). The formation of kaolinites is attributed to the influx of meteoric water when the base level fell and the channels migrated laterally on preexisting floodplains or channel deposits. (2) Infiltrated clays, which rim around detrital grains, mainly occur in channel sandstones of the LST due to the percolation of mud-rich surface waters. (3) Calcite I (δ18OVPDB = –20.19‰ to −3.64‰ and δ13CVPDB = –0.67‰ to –3.1‰), Calcite II (δ18OVPDB = –14‰ to –18.28‰ and δ13CVPDB = –2.2‰ to –3.60‰), dolomite (δ18OVPDB = –17.91‰ to –21.04‰ and δ13CVPDB = –0.46‰ to –1.66‰) and ankerite (δ18OVPDB = –15.02 to –20.42‰ and δ13CVPDB = –0.074 to –1.43‰), which are associated with palaeosol horizons mainly developed on top of overbank and channel sandstones of transgressive systems tract (TST) and early stage of the HST. Such extensive eogenetic calcite cements may act as potential layers for the formation of reservoir compartments for underlying sandstones. Mesogenetic alterations include: (1) abundant quartz overgrowths in the overbank sandstones of subaqueous fan in the LST and pro-fan-delta sandstones in the HST, in which early carbonate cements are lacking and grain-coats are thin. (2) Illite, chlorite and albitized feldspars, which occur in small amounts, are most common in the LST and late stage of the HST sandstones. Such cementation by calcite, dolomite, quartz overgrowths and formation of illite led to porosity and permeability deterioration during mesodiagenesis. This study revealed the importance of integration of diagenesis with sequence stratigraphy of subaqueous fan and fan delta sandstones in improving our ability to predict the spatial and temporal distribution of eogenetic alterations and their subsequent impact on mesogenetic alterations, and thus on reservoir quality modifications.

Topology-based Workflow Scheduling in Commercial Clouds

( Haoran Ji ),( Weidong Bao ),( Xiaomin Zhu ),( Wenhua Xiao ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.11

Cloud computing has become a new paradigm by enabling on-demand provisioning of applications, platforms or computing resources for clients. Workflow scheduling has always been treated as one of the most challenging problems in clouds. Commercial clouds have been widely used in scientific research, such as biology, astronomy and weather forecasting. Certainly, it is very important for a cloud service provider to pursue the profits for the commercial essence of clouds. This is also significantly important for the case of providing services to workflow tasks. In this paper, we address the issues of workflow scheduling in commercial clouds. This work takes the communication into account, which has always been ignored. And then, a topology-based workflow-scheduling algorithm named Resource Auction Algorithm (REAL) is proposed in the objective of getting more profits. The algorithm gives a good performance on searching for the optimum schedule for a sample workflow. Also, we find that there exists a certain resource amount, which gets the most profits to help us get more enthusiasm for further developing the research. Experimental results demonstrate that the analysis of the strategies for most profits is reasonable, and REAL gives a good performance on efficiently getting an optimized scheme with low computing complexity.
