Farm animals such as piglets are often affected by environmental stress, which can disturb the gut ecosystem. Antibiotics were commonly used to prevent diarrhea in weaned piglets, but this was banned by the European Union due to the development of antibiotic resistance. However, the use of probiotics instead of antibiotics may reduce the risk posed by pathogenic microorganisms and reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal diseases. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of Lactobacillus casei Zhang on the mechanical barrier and immune function of early-weaned piglets infected using Escherichia coli K88 based on histomorphology and immunology. Fourteen-day-old weaned piglets were divided into a control group and experimental groups that were fed L. casei Zhang and infected with E. coli K88 with or without prefeeding and/or postfeeding of L. casei Zhang. The L. casei Zhang dose used was 107 CFU/g diet. Jejunum segments were obtained before histological, immunohistochemical, and western blot analyses were performed. In addition, the relative mRNA expression of toll receptors and cytokines was measured. Piglets fed L. casei Zhang showed significantly increased jejunum villus height, villus height-crypt depth ratio, muscle thickness, and expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen and tight junction proteins ZO-1 and occludin. The use of L. casei Zhang effectively reduced intestinal inflammation after infection. We found that L. casei Zhang feeding prevented the jejunum damage induced by E. coli K88, suggesting that it may be a potential alternative to antibiotics for preventing diarrhea in early-weaned piglets.

Purpose: With the rapid development of e-commerce, logistics services, as an important part of e-commerce shopping, have gradually attracted people's attention. Customer engagement behavior is a new topic in marketing, and its connotation is still being explored. The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between logistics service quality and customer engagement behavior. Research design, data and methodology: This study employed the method of online questionnaire survey, with Chinese e-commerce platform users as the survey objects, 248 valid survey sample data were collected, and the method of factor analysis and structural equation model analysis was used to verify the research hypothesis model constructed in this paper. Results: The four dimensions of e-commerce logistics service quality have different influences on customer satisfaction, and the influence of availability on customer satisfaction is not significant. Convenience, assurance, and security have a significant positive impact on customer satisfaction; Customer satisfaction has a significant positive impact on the three dimensions of customer engagement behavior: customer repeat purchase behavior, online word-of-mouth, and customer referrals. Conclusion: The results of this study will provide useful reference for the managers of e-commerce companies to improve customer engagement behavior by improving the logistics service quality.
CLOCK and BMAL1 stabilize and activate RHOA to promote F-actin formation in cancer cells
Teng-jiao Ma,Zhi-wei Zhang,Yilu Lu,Ying-ying Zhang,Da-chang Tao,Yun-qiang Liu,Yong-xin Ma 생화학분자생물학회 2018 Experimental and molecular medicine Vol.50 No.-
Circadian genes control most of the physiological functions in cancer cells, including cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. The CLOCK and BMAL1 complex plays a central role in circadian rhythms. Previous studies have shown that circadian genes may act as oncogenes or tumor-suppressor genes. In addition, F-actin, regulated by RHOA, has been shown to participate in tumor progression. However, the roles of the CLOCK and BMAL1 genes in the regulation of tumor progression via the RHOA-ROCK-CFL pathway remain largely unclear. Here we first indicate that the rearrangement of F-actin is regulated by CLOCK and BMAL1. We found that CLOCK and BMAL1 can upregulate RHOA expression by inhibiting CUL3-mediated ubiquitination and activate RHOA by reducing the interaction between RHOA and RhoGDI. Consequently, CLOCK and BMAL1 control the expression of the components of the RHOA-ROCK-CFL pathway, which alters the dynamics of F-actin/G-actin turnover and promotes cancer cell proliferation, migration,

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (${\omega}$-3 PUFAs) are essential nutrients for human beings and their potential roles against cancer development and progression have become of wide concern recently. Some studies have suggested that perioperative supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids may have beneficial effects in gastrointestinal cancer patients undergoing surgery, while other researchers reported contrary results. This paper reviews recent research to establish therapeutic effects as well as possible underlying mechanisms of ${\omega}$-3 PUFA actions, and to help explain possible reasons for inconsistent results from different institutions.

<P>A new method was adopted to fabricate the nitrogen-incorporated hydrogenated diamond-like carbon ( DLC) film electrodes with TiN/TiCN/DLC multilayers on Ti substrates by a hybrid deposition technique and post annealing. The TiN and TiCN sublayers acted as adhesive layers and a nitrogen donor source for the DLC layer. Solid diffusion of nitrogen from these sublayers to the DLC layer occurred during annealing to form the N-incorporated DLC films. The electrical resistivity of the DLC films was significantly reduced by annealing process due to the graphitization and incorporation ofN. The potential windowof the DLC/Ti electrodes slightly decreased after annealing, while the electrochemical activity and catalytic ability of the electrodes for the redox of Fe(CN)(6)(3-/4-) were significantly improved, which was attributed to the decreased resistivity and the active C-N function group on the electrode surface. The optimized annealing temperature was 800 degrees C and the DLC/Ti-800 degrees C electrode exhibited comparable electrochemical characteristics with the boron-doped diamond electrode and superior properties than the Pt/Ti and glassy carbon electrodes, which made it promising electrode candidate for wastewater treatment. The correlations between the microstructure evolution and the electrochemical properties of the DLC films at various annealing temperatures were also systematically investigated. Zhang Chuan-Jie,Liu Teng,Wang Jinxu,Zhai Danlan,Zhang Youxin,Gao Yang,Wu Hui-Zhen,Yu Jialin,Chen Min 한국응용곤충학회 2024 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.27 No.1
Identifying insect pollinators and their roles in mediating pollen flow is critical to understand the potential gene flow risks of insect pollination-dependent crop species, such as alfalfa. This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the feasibility of You Only Look Once (YOLO) version 3 (YOLOv3), YOLOv5, YOLOv7, and YOLO Representation (YOLOR) to discriminate the three most common alfalfa pollinating bee species, including honeybee, bumblebee, and leafcutting bee. The metrics comparison results showed YOLOv3 and YOLOv5 out performed YOLOv7 and YOLOR regarding model precision, recall, F 1 score, and mAP50 values. YOLOv3 and YOLOv5 could successfully discriminate the three different bee species with an accuracy of almost 100% (99.9%, 99.8%, and 100% accuracy for honeybee, bumblebee, and leafcutting bee for the two models, respectively). Comparatively, YOLOv7 could discriminate honeybee with an accuracy of 95% but was more likely to mistakenly discriminate bumblebee and leafcutting bee due to the relatively lower discriminating accuracy (87.3% and 66.2%, respectively). While the values of determined parameters for YOLOR were lower than YOLOv3 and YOLOv5, the higher precision (0.99680) along with recall (0.98721), F 1 (0.99198), mAP50 (0.99323), and mAP50-100 (0.89076) values indicate that this model could be able to obtain a favorable performance in discriminating the three bee species. In summary, the proposed method in this study has the potential for identifying the alfalfa pollinating bee species, studying the bees’ flower-visiting behaviors, evaluating the risks of insect-mediated pollen flow, and thus contributing to the management of genetically engineered (GE) alfalfa transgene flow.
Hierarchical Real-Time MAC Protocol for (m,k)-firm Stream in Wireless Sensor Networks
Teng, Zhang,Kim, Ki-Il The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2010 Journal of information and communication convergen Vol.8 No.2
In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), both efficient energy management and Quality of Service (QoS) are important issues for some applications. For creating robust networks, real-time services are usually employed to satisfy the QoS requirements. In this paper, we proposed a hierarchical real-time MAC (medium access control) protocol for (m,k)-firm constraint in wireless sensor networks shortly called HRTS-MAC. The proposed HRTS-MAC protocol is based on a dynamic priority assignment by (m,k)-firm constraint. In a tree structure topology, the scheduling algorithm assigns uniform transmitting opportunities to each node. The paper also provides experimental results and comparison of the proposed protocol with E_DBP scheduling algorithm.
Continuous O2-CO2 production using a Co-based oxygen carrier in two parallel fixed-bed reactors
Teng Zhang,Ningsheng Cai,Zhenshan Li 한국화학공학회 2009 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.26 No.3
Oxygen-enriched carbon dioxide stream with oxygen concentration higher than 20 vol% was produced continuously by using a Co-based oxygen carrier packed in two parallel fixed-bed reactors operated in a cyclic manner. Oxygen was absorbed by the oxygen carrier with air being fed. An oxygen-enriched carbon dioxide stream was obtained when the fixed-bed was regenerated with carbon dioxide as a purge gas. Multiple absorption and desorption cycles indicated that the Co-based oxygen carrier had high cyclic stability. XRD analysis determined the absorbed and desorbed products were Co3O4 and CoO, respectively. The TGA results indicated that Co-based oxygen carrier did not react with NO or SO2 during the desorption stage. This Co-based oxygen carrier offers potential for applications in the O2-CO2 production for the oxy-fuel coal combustion process.
Accuracy evaluation of 3D time-domain Green function in infinite depth
Zhang Teng,Zhou Bo,Li Zhiqing,Han Xiaoshuang,Gho Wie Min 대한조선학회 2021 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.13 No.1
An accurate evaluation of three-dimensional (3D) Time-Domain Green Function (TDGF) in infinite water depth is essential for ship’s hydrodynamic analysis. Various numerical algorithms based on the TDGF properties are considered, including the ascending series expansion at small time parameter, the asymptotic expansion at large time parameter and the Taylor series expansion combines with ordinary differential equation for the time domain analysis. An efficient method (referred as “Present Method”) for a better accuracy evaluation of TDGF has been proposed. The numerical results generated from precise integration method and analytical solution of Shan et al. (2019) revealed that the “Present method” provides a better solution in the computational domain. The comparison of the heave hydrodynamic coefficients in solving the radiation problem of a hemisphere at zero speed between the “Present method” and the analytical solutions proposed by Hulme (1982) showed that the difference of result is small, less than 3%.
