Thymoma is associated with myasthenia gravis, Pure red cell aplasia, and autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, and hypogammaglobulinemia. It's association with aplastic anemia is rare and aplastic anemia appearing after surgical removal of thymoma is especially rare. The authors hereby report a case of aplastic anemia occuring in a patient who was diagnosed with thymoma and myasthenia gravis and had the tumor surgically removed. The patient was treated with anti-thymocyte globulin, cyclosporin, and prednisolone, and showed partial remission with hematologic improvements after 12 months.

This paper describes the measurement techniques of measurement a digital phase meter using the Dual-Slop principle of D/A conversion and micro-computer. The signal process makes use of the 8 bit D/A converter and the counter. For measuring process the value of phase difference is measured in 2 cycle of input waveforms and computed in micro-computer. Measurement range is 0? to 90? in phase difference and 0 to 200 Hz in frequency. The result show that digital measurement values are in a good agreement with an analog measurement values.

미세혈관문합때 염산 ticlopidine의 항혈전 효과

Recent progress in microvascular surgery has opened new clinical possibilities in tissue transplantation and replantation by direct anastomoses of vessels less than one mm in external diameter. However, a large obstacle still remains in microsurgery, that is, occlusion of the anastomosis site by thormbosis which is mainly composed of platelets. Many anticoagulants and topical vasodilatic agents such as heparin, aspirin, persantin, coumarin, magnesium sulfate have been used to solve this problem. Heparin inhibits the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin and Factors V, IX, XI. Aspirin inhibits collagen-induced platelet aggregation wheras the primary action of persantin is to inhibit ADP-induced platelet aggregation and release reaction of platelets, Currently, ticlopidine-HCl which is known to inhibit the platelet aggregation to ADP, collagen and epinephrine, is widely in use as and effective anticoagulant for the patients of atherosclerosis, hemodialysis and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Animal study was carried out for the tichlopidine-HCl to investigate the possibility of this agent to be used as a choice of anticoagulant in microvascular surgery. One hundred and twenty rats were divided into 3 groups Group A was the control groups. Aspirn and persantin were given orally in group B. Ticlopidine-HCl was given orally in group C. A femoral artery in one inguinal region and one femoral vein in the other side were severed and then were anastomosed with 10-0 nylon. The wounds were closed with 4 ㅡ0 black silk. The patency was confirmed grossly and microscopically at 20 minutes, 3 days and 3 weeks after anastomoses. The patency rates were as follows: At 20 minutes after anastomoses, patency rates of arteries and veins were 100% in all groups. At 3 days after anastomoses, in the control group the patency rates of arteries and veins 95% and 85% respectively. Group B (aspirin-prersantin) were 100% and 90% each. Compared with these, the patency rates of group C (ticlopidine) were better, all of the arteries and veins were patent. At 3 weeks after anastomoses, the patency rates of arteries were 90% and veins were 80% in the control group. Arteries were 95% and veins were 90% in group B, whereas arteries were100% and veins were 95% in group C. Therefore, it is concluded that the ticlopidine can be used in microvasular surgery as and anticoagulant of choice.

Retinol 국소도포에 의한 눈가주름 제거효과

In 3 months randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled study of retinol (vitamin A 0.1%-3000IU/g) in the treatment of photoaging skin, especially eye wrinkles. 24 patients applied retinol contained cream to the both eye wrinkles and vehicle cream(placebo) to the same site. Half of the patients received retinol contained cream and half received vehicle cream(placebo). All 24 patients who completed the study showed statistically significant improvement in photoaging eye wrinkles on the retinol contained cream treated group, but not on the vehicle treated group. Eight of the 12 patients who received retinol contained cream to eye wrinkles had improvement in photoaging, whereas only three of the 12 patients who received vehicle cream(placebo) improved. In retinol contained cream group, there is a some relationship between water contents and effects. In other words, as water contents were the higher, effects were the better. The side effects were limited to mild irritation of retinol contained cream treated skin. Retinol contained cream appeared to be safe and effective in the treatment of eye wrinkles.

유전자 진단을 위한 초내열성 DNA ligase의 개발

The ligase chain reaction (LCR)[1] is a DNA amplification technique which can be used to detect trace levels of known nucleic acid sequences. Use of a thermostable DNA ligase allows the LCR reaction to be cycled easily in conventional thermocyclers. We have developed an extremely thermostable DNA ligase (Ape ligase) from a hyperthermophilic archaeon Aeropyrum pernix K1. The new ligase remained stable for ~1 h at 100 ℃, and the half-life was about 1 h even at 105 ℃. It will provide enhanced product yields and shorter diagnostic times in the LCR reaction.

This study aims at understanding the treaties for protection of intellectual property rights, desiring to remove the distortions and impediments to international trade, and taking into account the needs to promote effective and adequate protection of intellectual property rights, and to ensure that the measures and procedures to enforce intellectual property rights do not themselves become barriers to the legitimate trade, and examining the problems of the WTO/TRIPs.

자궁내막에 발생한 점막 연관 림프조직 (MALT) 림프종 1예

Non-Hodgkin's 림프종의 약 40%는 결절외(extranodal) 림프종으로 대개 위장관에서 발생하며 이들 중 점막 연관 림프조직(mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue: MALT)에서 기원한 림프종은 MALT 림프종으로 분류된다. 위 외의 부위에서 원발성으로 발생하는 MALT 림프종은 매우 드물지만 실제 거의 모든 신체 장기에 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있는데, 가장 흔한 부위인 위 외에도 폐, 갑상선, 침샘, 눈물샘에 발생하고, 드물게 안구, 유방, 방광, 신장, 흉선 등에도 보고된 바 있다. MALT 림프종은 오랜 기간동안 원격 전이하지 않고 국소 병변으로 남아 있는 특징이 있어 치료 방향 또한 국소 병변의 치료에 집중되며, 예후도 림프절 기원의 림프종에 비해 양호한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 저자 등은 자궁 내막에 원발성으로 발생한 MALT 림프종 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 이를 보고하고자 한다. Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma can rarely develop primarily in extranodal sites other than stomach which is the most common site for it. Other rare primary sites are small intestine, colorectum, esophagus, lung, thyroid, salivary gland, lacrymal gland, breast and skin. MALT lymphoma represents a distinct clinicopathologic features: it is usually localized to their original site for a long time and shows much more favorable prognosis than lymphoma at other site, but some MALT lymphoma can arise simultaneously or successively in different organ or give rise to another MALT lymphoma of other organ and can be multifocally disseminated or recurred. We report a very rare case of high grade B-cell lymphoma of mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) of the uterine endometrium, which was confirmed by immunohistochemical assay.

Selective hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene in C4 raffinate was carried out in fixed bed reactor using Pd/a1unina catalysts, Concentration of 1,3-butadiene in C4 raffinate could be reduced under 100 ppm.The life of dimerization catalyst using C4 raffinate after selective hydrogenation was longer than that of dimerization catalyst without selective hydrogenation.It was found that dilution of olefin concentration in feed was effective to increase dimerization catalyst life.
