        Background : In this study, we examined body image perception and dissatisfaction with weight and height in children and adolescents, according to age and body mass index. Additionally, we compared our findings with those of previous studies concerning eating disorders. Materials and Methods : In July and August 2008, 1,501 students were sampled from elementary, middle, and high schools in Ulsan and assessed using self-completion questionnaires. We used the Korean version of the Eating Attitude Test-26 (EAT-26) to screen for eating risk groups Participants were stratified by grade, gender, and body mass index. Results : 1) Dissatisfaction with height, weight, and body image was greater in the older group. 2) Dissatisfaction with weight and body image was greater in the heavier group. 3) EAT-26 scores and the number of individuals at high risk for eating disorders were higher in the female group than in the male group. Conclusion : The EAT-26 score in this study was similar to those found in Previous Westem studies. 2) There were a number of high-risk individuals in the female group, with a tendency toward earlier Presentation. Continuous health management and prevention programs are required.

      • 우수여자 유도선수들의 연간 트레이닝과 디트레이닝에 따른 무산소성 역치의 변화

        The seasonal variance for estimate of exercise intensity, energy expenditure, maximal oxygen uptake and anaerobic threshold of elite women judo players(Group Ⅰ:4,Group Ⅱ: 4) was measured during 3,5,7,9,10month. The results of this study is as follows. 1. Exercise intensity by %HRmax during seasonal training was shown range of 56.45-73.62, 65.56-82.15, 80.03-86.62, 62.06-68.83%HRmax, respectiveley, from 3 to 9month in the warm up, additional exercise, main exercise and cooling down. 2. Energy expenditure per min during seasonal training was shown range of 4.09-7.96, 5.41-8.66, 8.95-9.90 and 5.05-6.41Kcal/min, respectiveley, from 3 to 9month in the warn up, additional exercise, main exercise, main exercsie and cooling down. 3. Changes of maximal oxygen uptake(VO₂max)during seasonal training and detraining not significant difference between both group, and in the seasonal variance. However, maximal heart rate during detraining expressed significant difference(p<0.05) between both group. 4. Anaerobic threshold levels during seasonal training and detraining not significant difference between both group, and in the seasonal variance. However, AT-VE(1/min) and AT- work time(min) of group Ⅱ expressed significant difference(p<0.01) in the seasonal variance.

      • Bacillus licheniformis에 의한 Alkaline Phosphatase의 生成 및 그 酸素의 特性

        Optimum culture condition of Bacillus licheniformis for the production of alkaline phosphatase and some properties of the partially purified enzyme were investigated. The production of alkaline phosphatase was at best when the culture medium contained 0.2% fructose, 1.5% neopeptone, 0.2% (NH_4)_2SO_4, 0.2mM K_3PO_4, and 10mM MgCl_2 at a initial pH of 9.0. The enzyme was purivied by ammonium sullfate fractionation and DEAE-cellulose chromatography. The specific activity at the partially purified enzyme was 250 times higher than that of the crude extract and the yield was 10%. The enzyme showed a optium pH of 9.0 and was stable in the range of 8.0-9.5. It had a optimum temperature of 60℃ and was also thermostable retaining 85% of it's activity when exposed to 60℃ for 30 min. The enzyme activity was promoted in the presence of Mg^++ and Co^++ but inhibited in the presence of Hg^++. Km value of the enzyme was determined to 0.1 mM with p-nitrophenylphosphate at pH 9.0

      • Sisomicin고생산 균주의 예비선별과 이들의 생리적 특성

        In order to isolate selectively sisomicin over-producers during mutagenesis, several conditions required for fragmentation, mutagen treatment, and selection of mutants were examined. As a result, up to 30% yield-up of the antibiotic production of a candidate was achieved. For the step of scale-up, effect of antifoaming agent in small scale with flasks was studied. Palm oil was very effective within the range of without inhibiting of growth. Water addition during the fermentation enhanced 10% of sisomicin productivity than that of control.

        제주시 일부 초, 중, 고등학생과 대학생들의 생체전기 저항법에 의한 체성분 조사

        Purpose : obesity is a frequent nutritional disorder in children and adolescent and its prevalence is increasing in Korea. The aim of this study was to measure body composition using bioelectical impedence in primaty, middle, high and college students in Cheju. Methods : We measured height, weight, and body composition(Fat %, WHR, Fat feee mass) by InBody 3.0 in 1,431 students aged 10-25 years. We also examined degree of obesity comparing standard weight for height, body mass index, and precent of body fat. Results : Fat free mass increased by aging in both sex, higher in male. Fat mass was highest in Primary school in male(12.09±4.86kg), college in female(16.03±4.22kg). Percent of body fat was highest in Primary student(21.64±8.02%), decreased middle(19.96±7.26%), high school(15.07±5.13%), and increased in college student(17.33±5.21%) in male, however, lowest in primary student(22.78±6.10%), increased by aging (middle;25.38±6.19%, high;27.61±5.27%, college;28.27±4.49%) in female. Percent of body fat was significantly higher in female except in primary school age. The prevalence of obesity based on fat % was highest in primary school student(primary, middle, high, college student; 33.3%, 23.3%, 7.6%, 8.2%) in male(≥25%), and highest in college student(11.1%, 26.6%, 32.3%, 38.6%) in female(≥30%), whereness, based on a standard weight for height(≥20%), 13.16%, 10.84%, 6.90%, 10.10% in male, 4.44%, 7.21%, 12.11%, 9.59% in female. Conclusion : It was necessary to evaluate obesity degree by body fat percentage, especially in adolescent and young female

      • 쓰레기종량제 실시전후의 생활폐기물 소각장 배출 유해가스 농도

        This study was conducted to compare the concentration of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides emitted from the household incineration facility in Taegu city before and after the adoption of garbage packing system. Their concentrations were measured by an automatic analyzing equipment(MCS 100) at Sung-Suh household waste incineration facility in Taegu city using the non-dispersion infrared absorption analysis method from January 1 to June 30, 1994 before the adoption of the garbage packing system, and from January 1 to June 30, 1995 after the adoption of the system. The means of daily maximal concentration and daily average concentration of the emitted sulfur oxides were 40.9±23.00ppm and 21.4±6.18ppm in 1994, and 75.7±59.43ppm and 22.0±8.95ppm in 1995, respectively. In 1994, the concentration showed a gradual reduction from January until June, but there was a marked variation in 1995. By the day of the week, both 1994 and 1995 showed the lowest figures on Sundays. In the multi-variable analysis of variance to nitrogen oxides, there was not a noticeable statistical figure by the year and by a day of the week, but there did exist a noteworthy difference among the monthly emission concentrations (p<0.05). The means of daily maximal concentration and daily average concentration of the emitted nitrogen oxides were 175.6±23.82ppm and 122.3±26.92ppm in 1994, and 143.7±16.57ppm and 100.2±25.85ppm in 1995, respectively. By month, the means of its daily average concentration was lowest in June, 1994 at 89.4±26.29ppm and 72.7±31.36ppm in April, 1995. By the day of week, there was not much variation, it was lowest on Saturdays at 116.6±24.74ppm in 1994 and on Wednesdays at 93.4±25.79ppm in 1995. In the result of the multi-variable analysis of variance, it was significant that there was a difference in the nitrogen oxides emission concentration between the by-the-year figure of p<0.05 and by-the-mouth figure of p<0.05. This result suggests that the adoption of garbage packing system may affect the emission concentration of emitted nitrogen oxides from household waste incineration facility.

        A measurements of reduced viscosity and light scattering study on new polyamides solution containing crown ether moieties were made in the presence of a salt(K^(+).Cs^(+). Rb^(+)). The result was that the reduced viscosity of solution increased rapidly as the concentration of solution decreased even if it was different as a sort of salt. In study of light scattering experiment. the angular dependent intensities of scattered light from each solution were measured. The Rayleigh ratios calculated from these data suggested that a change in molecular shape from coil to rod was responsible for the increasein the reduced viscosity of the polymar solution with dilution The reduced visosity calculated from light scattering data agreed well with those measured with a viscometer.

      • 정상 성인에서 Amitriptyline이 수면구조와 정신생리적 기능에 미치는 영향

        To investigate the effects of Amitriptyline on sleep structure and psychophysiologic function in normal adults, author applied polysomnography for sleep structure, reaction time for attention and visual analogue test for daytime fatigue, mood and sleepiness to the volunteers. The subjects were 8 healthy young adults, aged from 20 to 24 years old. The results were summarized as follows. 1. In normal adults, there were great individual variations in the ditribution of relative value(%) of sleep structure. 2. Compared with the baseline, total sleep time and sleep efficiency increased significantly in the 2lmg amitriptyline night, and WASO decreased significantly in the second recovery night. 3. Compared with the baseline, the absolute value(minutes) of stage 1 sleep decreased significantly in the amitriptyline, first and second recovery nights, and the relative value(%) of stage 1 sleep decreased significantly in the first recovery night. The absolute and relative value of stage 2 sleep increased significantly in the amitriptyline night. The relative value of slow wave sleep decreased significantly in the first recovery night. 4. Compared with the baseline, the absolute and relative value of REM sleep decreased significantly in the amitriptyline night, the relative value of REM sleep increased significantly in the first and second recovery nights, and REM latency shortened significantly in the first and second recovery nights. 5. Feeling of fatigue, depressed mood and sleepiness increased in the afternoon the day after amitriptyline administration. 6. 1) In the baseline, daytime sleepiness was positive correlation with feeling of fatigue and mood. 2) The day after amitriptyline administration, relative value of REM sleep was negative correlation with feeling of fatigue and sleepiness, daytime fatigue was positive corelation with mood and sleepiness, and daytime mood was positive correlation with sleepiness. 3) In the first recovery day, daytime fatigue was positive correlation with mood and sleepiness, and negative correlation with reaction time, daytime mood was positive correlation with sleepiness, and reaction time was negative correlation with sleepiness. 4) In the second recovery day, total sleep time was positive correlation with the relative value of REM sleep time, the relative value of stage 2 sleep was negative correlation with the relative value of slow wave sleep, the relative value of slow wave sleep was positive correlation with daytime fatigue and mood, daytime fatigue was positive correlation with mood and sleepiness, and negative correlation with reaction time, daytime mood was positive correlation with sleepiness, and reaction time was negative correlation with sleepiness.

        Photonic band gaps(PBGs) are investigated for face-centered cubic structure composed of dielectric spheres and air spheres. It was found that PBGs exist for both cases. PBGs lie between the 6th-7th and 13th-14th for dielectric spheres and the 8th-9th for air spheres.
