      • High-performance H<sub>2</sub>S detection by redox reactions in semiconducting carbon nanotube-based devices

        <P>Here we report the highly effective detection of hydrogen sulfide (H<SUB>2</SUB>S) gas by redox reactions based on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) functionalized with 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) as a catalyst and we also discuss the important role of water vapor in the electrical conductivity of SWCNTs during the sensing of H<SUB>2</SUB>S molecules. To explore the H<SUB>2</SUB>S sensing mechanism, we investigate the adsorption properties of H<SUB>2</SUB>S on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and the effects of the TEMPO functionalization using first-principles density functional theory (DFT) and we summarize current changes of devices resulting from the redox reactions in the presence of H<SUB>2</SUB>S. The semiconducting-SWCNT (s-SWCNT) device functionalized with TEMPO shows a very high sensitivity of 420% at 60% humidity, which is 17 times higher than a bare s-SWCNT device under dry conditions. Our results offer promising prospects for personal safety and real-time monitoring of H<SUB>2</SUB>S gases with the highest sensitivity and low power consumption and potentially at a low cost.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>We report the highly effective detection of H<SUB>2</SUB>S gas by redox reactions based on SWCNTs functionalized with TEMPO as a catalyst and discuss the important role of water vapor.       • Molecular Phylogeny of Oecophoridae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea)

        Oecophoridae (Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea), the concealer moths, is worldwide in distribution and comprises more than 4,000 described, particularly in Australia with over 3,000 endemic species. To date, the phylogenetic relationships of Oecophoridae have been poorly known, except a few works on the higher-level phylogeny of the superfamily Gelechioidea which includes some species of Oecophoridae. This study is the first comprehensive molecular phylogenetic analysis of Oecophoridae, based on 4,395 base pairs of mitochondrial protein coding gene (COI), nuclear ribosomal RNA genes (18S and 28S) and nuclear protein coding genes (IDH, MDH, Rps5, EF1a and wingless) for 82 taxa. Data were analysed using maximum likelihood (ML), maximum parsimony (MP) and Bayesian inference (BI) phylogenetic frameworks. The results are shown that the family Oecophoridae is not monophyletic, as the genus Casmara is closely clustered with Stathmopodidae far from the Oecophorid lineage and the genera Tyrolimnas and Phaeosaces are closely clustered with Depressariinae in the Elachistid lineage. Main clade of Oecophoridae comprises Xyloryctinae previously assigned to Xyloryctidae, closely claded with New Zealandian Oecophorids including the genera Hierodoris, Gymnobatra and Izatha; the problematic position group, Acryptolechia spp., Deuterogoniinae and Oecophorinae.

      • Determination of a new genus Neoplatyptilia gen. nov. (Lepidoptera, Pterophoridae) based on morphometric and molecular analyses

        Systematic studies within the family Pterophoridae have been determined by external morpholgical characteristics (Yano 1963, Spuler 1910, Meyrick 1910). However, it is sometimes to be the result of species misplacement by the variation, depending on geographic isolation and genetic drift (Moran, 1986; Shufran et al., 2000; Anstead et al., 2002; Margaritopoulos et al., 2006). The genus Platyptilia Hübner [1925] is one of the largest genera of the family comprising more than 100 species according to the World’s Catalog by Gielis (2003) mainly distributed from Palaearctic and Afrotropical regions. Within the genus, Platyptilia ignifera has been suspected as very differentiated from other congeneric species in the morphological characters. In this study, to ascertain a placement of the species, we performed molecular analysis with one mitochondrial gene, COI and one nuclear gene, 28S, and morphometric analysis based on six ratios characters using principal components analysis (PCA). The sequences of the two genes, COI, 28S, implied that Platyptilia ignifera separated from Platyptilia spp. In addition, P. ignifera exhibited morphological characteristics distinct from other congeneric species. Based on these results, we propose that Neoplatyptilia gen. nov., for Platyptilia ignifera.

      • Augmented Reality for Blended Language Learning

        Although a lot of research is being conducted to apply augmented reality (AR) to education, there is little adequate research on how to design AR-based learning systems so that they foster deep understanding in learners. In this article, we present and exemplify a learner-centered instructional model that incorporates AR contents as a form of blended learning strategy. To this end, we divide the instructional model into lecture-type formal learning and purely self-directed form of informal learning, and go on to explain the methodology and process of designing instructional model according to each type. Through this approach, we show that the benefits of using AR extend into the realm of education, and verify that AR-based learning systems offer a potentially effective method for foreign language instruction.

      • Low Incidence of Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Antiviral Therapy in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C and Hemophilia

        Aims: Chronic hepatitis C (CHC) is a major comorbidity in patients with hemophilia. the management of hepatitic C virus (HCV) infection and control of various complications are emerging as important factors to increase the long term prognosis of hemophilia patients. Therefore, we assessed the long term outcome of peginterferon plus rivavirin (PEG) and direct acting antivirals (DAA) in HCV patients with hemophilia. Methods: Patients (n=205) were enrolled between March 2007 and July 2019. 141 patients were treated with PEG (genotype 1, n=98; genotype 2, n=42; genotype 3a, n=1). 64 patients were treated with DAA (genotype 1, n=44; genotype 2, n=19; genotype 4, n=1). We evaluated sustained virological response (SVR), incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Results: Mean follow-up periods were 9.9 and 3.4 years in PEG and DAA, respectively. In genotype 1, SVR was 66.3% (65/98) and 90.9% (40/44) in PEG and DAA groups, respectively. In genotype 2, the SVR was 73.8% (31/42) and 89.4% (17/19) in PEG and DAA groups, respectively. HCC developed in 3.5% (5/141) patients treated with PEG. Among them, the mean age was 77 (range 66-83) and 4 patients were genotype 1(genotype 1a : 1, genotype 1b : 3). 3 patients had liver cirrhosis and 2 out of 3 patients (Genotype 1a : 1, genotype 2 : 1) had SVR with PEG. 1 patient who had liver cirrhosis was treated with DAA after 4 years and achieved SVR. However, HCC occurred 2 years later. 3 patients died of brain hemorrhage, pneumonia and leukemia. Conclusions: PEG showed stable SVR and low incidence of HCC after SVR. Although the follow-up period is short, oral DAA treatment showed more stable SVR than PEG and no development of HCC after SVR in CHC patients with hemophilia.

      • Building E-learning Apps with Multimedia Contents for Learning Language Variations

        In language education, little attention has been paid to the importance of variations of a language. It is focused only on acquiring standard forms. However, knowing standard forms is not sufficient for understanding the target language in real situations. That is why when we learn a target language; we have to pay attention to its linguistic variations. It is believed that e-learning is the most appropriate means of teaching and learning those dialects, because it can offer multiple speaking contexts in the same time and space. Using and incorporating multimedia content is very helpful in enabling language learners to experience more realistic and practical usage of those variations. From this perspective, this paper gives a brief idea of building e-learning applications that are capable of teaching and learning not only standard, but also variations of a language.

        MMORPG 이용자 충성도에 대한 영향요인간 구조적 관계

        MMORPG은 국내 게임시장의 25.9%를 차지하는 게임 장르로 최근에 다양한 게임이 출시되어 업체 간 경쟁이 치열해 지고 있는 산업이다. 이에 따라 게임업체에서는 충성도 높은 게임이용자 확보를 위해 다각도로 노력을 하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 MMORPG 게임 장르의 특성과 부합되는 MMORPG에 대한 이용자 충성도의 결정요인을 도출하고, 이러한 결정요인 간 구조적 관계가 이용자 충성도에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 온라인 게임 및 인터넷 서비스 이용에 관한 선행연구를 검토하여 상호작용성, 공동체의식, 보상, 재미를 이용자 충성도의 결정요인으로 도출하였으며, 이들 연구변수 간 구조적 관계를 실증연구를 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과, 상호작용성, 공동체의식 및 보상이 재미에 유의미한 수준에서 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 재미는 이용자 충성도와 매우 강한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 상호작용성과 보상은 공동체의식에 영향을 주었으며, 공동체의식을 매개로 재미에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다 MMORPG makes up 25.9% of domestic market share in game industry, and it has become increasingly fierce in competition. Game developer and publisher make every effort to build customer e-loyalty to sustain their competitiveness. Thus, this paper examines the determinants of e-loyalty that reflect the features of MMORPG such as intensive and real-time interactivity. For this purpose, we selected interactivity, sense of community, reward and fun as the key antecedents of e-loyalty based on the extensive review of previous researches related to online game and Internet service usage. A total of 202 responses were used for analysis and the research results are as follow. The findings show that interactivity, sense of community and reward influence significantly on fun, then fun is positively related to e-loyalty. Also, interactivity and reward are proven to have a positive influence on sense of community, and sense of community mediates the effect of interactivity and reward on fun.

      • Wavelet Transform을 이용한 시청각 학습시의 전두부 뇌파 활성도에 관한 연구

        학습 행동에서의 뇌파 측정은 실시간으로 두뇌 기능 상태를 연구하는데 유용한 연구 방법이며 대뇌의 부위 중 전두엽은 새로움에 대한 지향 반응과 사고 활동에 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 연구에서는 중학교 2학년 학생에게 새로운 시청각 학습 자료를 제시하고 5회의 반복학습이 이루어지는 과정에서의 전두부(Fp₁,Fp₂)의 뇌파를 측정하고 Fourier, Wavelet 변환을 하여 정량적으로 분석하였다. 주의 집중, 정서 등 인지와 관련지어 특정파의 조절 능력 및 파의 특성을 이용한 여러 연구들을 종합해보면, 기억력, 주의지속과 연관되어 알파파, 베타파와 세타파가 발생되는 것을 볼 수 있다. 이중 알파파는 기존의 뇌 상태를 동기화시키고 주의나 기억의 과정에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 것으로 증명되었다. 본 논문에서는 신호 처리에 높은 효율을 보이는 Wavelet 변환을 이용하여, 학습이 됨에 따라 변화하는 EEG 신호 가운데 알파파의 패턴과 활성도를 분석하고자 한다.
