        A 33-year-old female was admitted to our hospital due to removal of lung mass which indicentally detected Chest radiography. Chest computerized tomography revealed lung parenchymal cystic lesion. Open thoracotomy was done for diagnosis and therapy. Cystic lesion was communicated to bronchus and wedge resection including cystic lesion was done. Bronchogenic cyst is congenital disease and mainly locate in mediastinum. It is rare in lung parenchyme. Herein we report a case of intrapulmonary bronchogenic cyst.

      • 피부적용제제로서 우르솔릭 애씨드를 함유한 큐보좀의 제조 및 평가

        Nanosized particle of bicontinuous cubic liquid crystalline phase system nominated "cubosome" allows for simultaneous incorporation of water- and oil-soluble materials as well as amphiphiles. The solubilization of ursolic acid, a highly hydrophobic molecule, into a cubosome system was formulated by liquid precursor dilution method. Ursolic acid (UA) with anti-inflammatory and anti-aging effect obtained from some plants. The cubosomes with and without UA were prepared and evaluated. The cubosomes had mean diameter of from 30 to 300 nm. The size increased according as the glyceryl monooleate(GMO) content increased and ratio of poloxamer 407 to water decreased. The turbidity of cubosome increased with increase of GMO content, but the addition of poloxamer 407 reduced the particle size with bluish appearance. Cubosomes from the GMO-ethanol-poloxamer 407-water system were proved relatively stable dispersion system without any creaming and sedimentation for 80 days at various storage temperatures. Viscosity of cubosomes was increased at high concentration of GMO and a rheological property of cubosomes revealed pseudo-plastic flow and weak thixotropic behavior. The percutaneous absorption rate of UA in cubosome system was 2.7 times higher than in liposome system.

        Rupture of the main bronchus followed by blunt chest trauma is relatively rare but, with increasing traffic accidents, the incidence has been increasing recently. Early diagnosis and management for the traumatic bronchial rupture is essential to reduce morbidity, mortality and late complication but often, it is comcealed in cases of blunt chest trauma and particularly it is associated with multiple other organ injuires. Especially, bronchial pseudoaneurysm which maintains airway patency after complete transection of the bronchus by blunt chest trauma is very unusual case. We report a case of a 15 year old male who had complete bronchial transection with bronchial pseudoaneurysm.The bronchial rupture was comfirmed by spiral chest CT and 3D reconstruction. In the operation, right main bronchus was completely transected and separated but the airway was patent to the right lung by pseudoaneurysm of the bronchus. Resection of the pseudoaneurysm and end to end anastomosis of the bronchus was performed successfully.

      • 광주전남지역 정상 신생아의 코의 형태와 계측치에 대한 연구

        Background and Objectives: Cleft lip and palate are common defects in congenital deformity. They are the most frequent deformity in the face. Nose deformity is most common among various facial deformity at the center of face. So we must operate to correct the deformity at the earliest stage to give a patient and parent spiritual relief from anxiety, and it is the trend of the treatment recently. We must know the facial anthropometry in newborn to try at the early stage, but there is a lack of literature and research on newborns. So we carried out this research to form base data for operations. Materials and Methods : The noses of 90 newborns in Gwangju-Cheonnam area were analyzed quantitatively, based on 10 nasal measuring points and 13 anthropometric values taken directly from the face of newborns. The relationship between the nasal measurements were studied in 11 proportion indices. Results : Following are our mean values in newborn. Width of the nasal root was 13. 9mm. Width of the nose was 22. lrnm, Width of the columella was 4. 5mm. Height of the nose was 22.6mm. Length of the nasal bridge was 20.1mm. Nasal tip protrusion was 8.9mm. Width of the nostril floor was 6.4mm. Thickness of the nasal ala and length of the nasal ala were 4.0mm, 15.4mm. Length of the columella was 3.9mm. The most common nostril shape was Type II (0-45 degrees in inclination of the nostril axis from the horizontal). Nasal index was 97.8. Columella-nasal tip protrusion length index was 43.9. Conclusion : The development of the columella was relatively incomplete in the case of newborn and was the result to appear. The normal indicies could be used clinically in identifying the it's normality as well as morphologic characteristics of the craniofacial structures. They also could be used in differential diagnosis between the morphologically similar congenital craniofacial anomalies. In preoperative design, in setting the criteria of the postoperative results, and assessing the effect of the operation, Finally, they supply the plastic surgeon and the other specialists in the craniofacial surgery with basic normal population data.

      • 대장균 sfs 유전자의 전사조절

        sfs(sugar fermentation stimulation) 유전자는 crp*¹이 도입된 MK2001 균주에서 mal 유전자의 발현을 촉진시키는 특성으로서 클로닝 되어졌다. sfs4 유전자의 발현은 두 개의 promoter에 의하여 조절되어진다. 본 연구는 이들 두 promoter (P₁과 P₂)의 cAMP-CRP에 의한 발현조절을 보고자 조절영역과 CRP 결합영역에 변이가 도입된 DNA가 in vitro transcription 방법에 의해 확인되어졌다. 두 개의 promoter가 공존시에는 cAMP에 의한 P₂의 전사는 촉진되어졌으며, P₁의 전사는 억제되어졌다. P₂만이 존재할 때에도 전사는 cAMP에 의하여 촉진되어졌다. CRP 결합부위에서의 변이는 cAMP에 의한 전사촉진이 크게 감소하였다. sfs7 (nlp) 유전자의 전사산물을 확인하였으며, 이는 cAMP에 의한 발현조절을 받지 않았다. sfs(sugar fermentation stimulation) genes are involved in regulation of mal gene expression with the altered crp*¹ gene. Expression of the sfs4 gene appeared to be regulated by a two promoters. In this research, the cAMP-CRP dependent regulation of P₁ and P₂ promoter of sfs4 was examined by in vitro transcription using the regulatory region and mutated DNA of the CRP binding region. The transcription of sfs4 from P₂ is stimulated, but P₁ was totally repressed by in vitro transcription. In mutant in the CRP binding region, the effect of activation by cAMP was severely reduced. The transcript of sfs7(nlp) was identified and regulation by cAMP was not observed at the mRNA level.

        In this paper, we developed a simulation model of a car parts assembly line to improve the system performance such as worker's utilization balancing, productivity. This simulation model has been developed using QUEST, a true 3D discrete event simulation packcage that is designed for modeling and analysis of manufacturing systems. We have suggested the results obtained to improve the system performances of an existing production line.

      • Cellulose 생합성 세균의 분리 및 특성

        발효시켜서 만드는 감식초에서 시료를 채취하여 배양하고, pellicle을 형성하는 single colony를 cellulose생합성균으로 분리하였다. 분리된 균주는 형태적 특성, 알콜의 재산화 등의 생리, 생화학적 특성 등에 의하여 Acetobacter속으로 분류되었으며, Acetobacter CBI-2라고 명명하였다. Acetobacter CBI-2는 정지배양 시에 기존의 생합성 균주로 알려진 Acetobacter xylinum과 대등한 cellulose생합성 능력을 나타내었다. Acetobacter CBI-2이 생성한 고분자물질의 분해산물을 TLC법으로 확인한 결과 기존 cellulose의 것과 일치하였다. Acetobacter CBI-2에서 genomic DNA를 분리 정제하여 cel A 영역을 probe로 하여 hybridization시킨 결과, 상동성을 나타내어 분리 균주에는 cellulose 생합성 관련 유전자가 존재함을 나타내었다.(1997년 1월 7일 접수, 1997년 2월 24일 수리). A screening was performed to isolate the cellulose-producing microorganisms from vinegar in Korea. The isolated strain was identified as Acetobacter sp. with respect to physiological and biochemical characteristics and designated as Acetobacter CBI-2. Cellulose production of Acetobacter CBI-2 was equal with the well known cellulose-producing bacteria, A.xylinum. The result of separation on thin layer chromatography (TLC) was consistent with the degradation product of native cellulose. The presence of genes required for the cellulose biosynthesis in Acetobacter CBI-2 was confirmed by Southern hybrization.

      • Moclobemide의 항우울 효과에 대한 평가

        Eighteen patients took Moclobemide for 6 weeks, who had been diagnosed as major depression based on DSM-Ⅲ-R and had had more than 16 points on the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale. After medication of Moclobemide, they were evaluated by the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and in terms of sleep, vigilance, performance, social interactions and drive. The results were as follows ; 1. The average dosage of Moclobemide was 400±89 ㎎. 2. Antidepressant effect were checked on the all items of the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale and prominent on the items of work and activities, insomnia, suicide, somatic symptoms. 3 There were obvious changes of the antidepressive effect by the evaluation of the doctors and patients at 4 weeks after the medication of Moclobemide. 4. In the patients, 61% had positive effects on the sleep. 94% no negative effects on the vigilance. Nobody has negative effects on the social interactions and drive. 5. Side effects or physical disturbances induced by Moclobemide were not found. According to these results, it seemed that Moclobemide had clear antidepressant effects, few negative effects on the life of day time, positive effects on the sleep and somatic symptoms.

        우라늄 오염 금속표면의 제염을 위한 UO_2 용해특성 연구

        국내의 가동 중지된 우라늄 변환시설의 해체 시 대량으로 발생될 탱크류 및 배관 등 공정 계통 부품으로 이루어진 금속 폐기물의 재팔용 또는 자체처분을 위한 현장 제염기술로 질산 제염공정을 선정하였다. 오염 물질로써 UO_2를 대상으로 UO_2 입자의 용해 거동을 통해 우라늄 화합물로 오염된 금속 폐기물에 대한 질산 용액의 표면제염 적용성을 평가하였고, 우라늄 변환시설 내에서 직접 인출한 UO_2 오염 시편의 제염 실증실험을 통해 제염 공정의 성능을 검증하였다. 질산 제염 용액에서 UO_2 입자의 용해속도는 질산의 농도 및 용액의 온도에 크게 의존하였으며, 산화제로 H_2O_2를 첨가함에 의해서 상온의 저 농도 질산 제염 용액 내에서도 H_2O_2가 첨가되지 않은 경우에 비해서 속도가 현저하게 증가되었다 UO_2로 오염된 시편의 제염에 있어서, H_2O_2가 첨가되지 않은 질산 용액 내에서의 제염계수는 α 방사능에 대해서는 1.8~2.7, β 방사능에 대해서는 1.8~2.3인 반면에 질산 용액에 H_2O_2를 첨가한 경우에는 α 방사능에 대해서 61.7~338.5, β 방사능에 대해서는 20.1~92.4를 나타냄으로써 H_2O_2를 첨가함에 의해서 상온, 저농도 질산 용액 내에서도 UO_2 오염된 금속표면을 효과적으로 제염할 수 있음을 확인하였다. In this study, a decontamination process using nitric acid was selected as an in-situ technology for recycle or disposal of large amount of metallic wastes, which includes process system components such as tanks, piping, etc that are generated as a result of dismantling retired uranium conversion facility in Korea. The applicability of nitric acid solution for surface decontamination of metallic wastes that are contaminated with uranium compounds was evaluated through dissolution of UO_2 powder. The decontamination decontamination performance are verified using UO_2 contaminated specimen that came from an uranium conversion facility. Dissolution rate of UO_2 powder was dependant considerably upon nitric acid concentration and solution temperature. Notable enhancement of dissolution rate was achieved by addition of H_2O_2 as an oxidant even in the condition of low concentration of nitric acid and low temperature. The results for decontamination of the specimen contaminated with UO_2 showed that the decontamination factors (DFs) for nitric acid solution without H_2O_2 were 1.8~2.7 and 1.8~2.3 for α and β-radioactivity. respectively, while DFs for nitric acid solution containing H_2O_2 were 61.7~338.5 and 20.1 ~92.4 for α and β-radioactivity, respectively. Thus, the metallic surfaces contaminated with UO_2 can be decontaminated effectively with low concentration of nitric acid at mom temperature in the presence of H_2O_2.

      • sfs1 유전자의 cAMP-cAMP receptor protein에 의한 발현 조절

        crp* 유전자가 도입된 대장균 MK2001(crp, cya::km)을 숙주로 사용하여 mal 유전자 발현을 촉진시키는 유전자의 하나인 sfs1(sugar fermentation stimulation)의 구조해석 결과에 의하면, 잠정적인 sfs1의 promoter영역에는 CRP단백질과의 결합영역으로 보이는 염기배열이 존재하였다. 본 실험에서는 sfs1 유전자의 cAMP-CRP에 의한 발현 조절을 확인하고자, lacZ와의 융합 유전자를 작성하였다. 작성된 융합 유전자는 cya결손주인 TP2010에서 cAMP의 첨가에 의해 B-galactosidase 활성이 크게 증가하였으며, Western blotting의 실험에서도 같은 결과를 나타냈다. in vivo에서 발현이 확인된 전사산물은 cAMP에 의해 전사 촉진이 일어났으며, CRP의 결합부위로 예상되는 DNA영역은 cAMP가 존재하면 CRP단백질과 결합하는 특성을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로 보아, sfs1 유전자의 발현은 cAMP-CRP에 의한 전사촉진 현상을 받는 것으로 나타났다. We have cloned several E. coli sfs genes which stimulate mal gene expression with ??. One the sfs genes(pPVC2) was sequenced and potential CRP binding site is located in the upstream of the putative promoter in the regulatry region. In order to investigate the regulation of the sfs1 gene by the cAMP-CRP complex, we have constructed the sfs-lacZ fusion gene in this research. The overall transcriptional stimulations of sfs1 gene in the presence cAMP were confirmed by B-galactosidase activity and Western blot analysis of sfs1-lacZ fusion gene. Transcriptional regulation by cAMP-CRP was also confirmed by Northern blot analysis. End-labelled DNA of the DNA fragement in sfs1 regulatory region were used for gel retardation assay to examine the CRP-DNA complex in the presence of cAMP. Results here indicate that CRP binding site in the regulatory region of sfs1 gene is positive regulator for the expression of sfs1 gene.
