제조공장에서의 극저주파 자기장의 측정 및 분석(Ⅰ) : 작업장의 지역별 구분에 의한 자기장을 중심으로

This proper deals with the recent allegation that the electro-magnetic fields may have a bad influence on the human health. The two manufacturing plants are examined, which leave the same manufacturing processes but different environments of the electrical equipment and voltages in use. This study analyzes the characteristics of the magnetic fields occurred in the two plants by measuring the distribution of the magnetic fields of the extremely low frequency band at constant points.' The average values of the magnetic field strengths are 2.96mG at "A"plant, and 1.57mG at "B"plant. respectively, By comparing those two values, it is found that the magnetic field strength in "B"plant turns out to be half of that in "A"plant. The characteristics of "B"plant are: "B"plant uses the voltage twice as high as "A"plant; (2)the buildings of "B"plant are higher than those of "A"plant; and (3)"B"plant has wider spaces for the electrical equipment.

공기를 이용한 저항소실법으로 요부 경막외 천자시 뇌척수액의 누출없이 경막하에 발생한 기뇌증

We reported a case of epidural anesthesia in a patient presenting for varicocelectomy and sclerotherapy. An epidural puncture was done at the L4-5 intervertebral space with the loss of resistance technique using air. There was no CSF leakage during the procedure. One hour later, she complained of a sudden severe headache, with no neurologic symptoms. The headache was localized at the occipital area and its nature was constant, squeezing, and non-throbbing. Headache was aggravated and localized at the frontal area after the surgery. A brain CT disclosed subdural pneumocephalus at the frontal and prepontine area. Twelve hours after the event, she was discharged without any specific complaints. To avoid pneumocephalus during epidural puncture, saline instead of air is highly recommended. If physicians use air, a small volume should be used and careful evaluation of the patients condition during injection.

전립선 비대증 진단에 있어서 전립선 이행대 용적 지수의 유용성

Purpose : Prostate volume has been poorly correlated to various parameters used to assess benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), including symptom score, peak urine flow and detrusor pressure at peak urine flow. The purpose of this study was 2-fold: 1) to determine if transrectal ultrasound measurement of the transition zone of the prostate served as a better proxy for determining prostate size and correlated better with IPSS, peak urine flow and detrusor pressure and 2) if the parameter transition zone index (the ratio between transition zone volume and prostate volume) was useful in evaluating clinical prostatism. Materials and Methods: We prospectively evaluated 30 men with symptomatic BPH (mean age 65.4 years) according to symptom sore, peak urine flow, pressure/flow study, transrectal ultrasound volume of the entire prostate and the transition zone and calculation of the transition zone index. Results : There was a week correlation between prostate volume and symptom score, peak urine flow and detrusor pressure at peak urine flow: a stronger correlation between volume of transition zone and symptom score (r=0.679 p=0.03), and peak urine flow (r=-0.672 p=0.05) and a significant correlation (p=0.001) between transition zone index and symptom score (r=0.868), and peak urine flow(r=-0.870). Conclusion : Transition zone index is a parameter that correlates siginificantly with parameters of BPH and may serve as a useful proxy for evaluating worsening obstruction. Studies are underway to determine whether transtion zone index can be used prospectively to predict and correlate response with therapies designed to ablate prostatic tissue medically or surgically.

인체에서 방사되는 생물광자(生物光子)에 대한 소고

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to review research papers published by Korean research groups on biophoton of human beings based on experiment subject and methodology. Methods : In order to review human biophoton research executed in Korea, all the papers published in Korean and international journals by Korean research groups were selected. Several key foreign papers were also reviewed for clarification of this study. Based on experiment subjects, experiment methodology, and interpretation of experiment results were analyzed. On each experiment, its original interpretation was directly quoted. Issues on the experiment methodology and interpretation were expressed at the end of each subject. Results and Conclusions : We found that experiments on human biophoton were compelling. However it seemed that mom experiments, especially on their sample sizes, ate needed to demonstrate its clinical application. Interpretations based on Korean traditional medicine also need to be elaborated more. In order to do accomplish clinical application of biophoton, interdisciplinary works are required. Some suggestions on biophoton experiments were made.

직접 통기 방법에 의한 동물세포 배양

일반적으로 배양기내로의 통기는 미생물의 경우 직접통기가 가능하나, 동물세포에서의 세포벽이 없으므로 직접통기방법이 사용되지 않는다. 특히 담체의 표면에 부착되어 성장하는 부착성 동물세포의 경우 통기시 공기방울이 터지는 것으로 인하여 세포가 치명적인 손상을 받게 되므로 일반적으로 silicon tube내로 공기를 유통하여 배지내로 확산 용해시키는 방법을 사용한다. 그러나, 이러한 방법은 배양기의 scale-up시 silicon tube의 사용으로 인하여 비용이 증가하고, 공기의 배지로의 확산이 어려운 단점이 있다. 이를 극복하기위하여 본 연구에서는 기존의 담체 대신 다공성 미립담체를 사용하여 직접 통기방법을 적용하였다. 250㎖의 culture vessel의 하단부에 sparger를 설치하여 직접 통기한 결과, 다공성 미립담체인 경우 0.1vvm 이상의 sparging에서도 세포는 성장에 영향을 받지 않았고, 담체의 표면에 부착되는 Cytodex-3의 경우에는 급격한 감소율을 보여주었다. 이는 다공성 담체에서 대부분의 세포가 담체 내부에서 성장함으로 기포발생으로 인한 shear 및 배양액 표면에서 기포가 터질 때의 에너지 전달에 의한 손상을 극복한 결과이다.

부착성 동물세포의 Scale-up을 위한 방법의 개발

This study was a protocol of serial propagation for anchorage-dependent animal cell. Vero. by the optimization of trypsin and EDTA concentration in T-25 flask. Commen enzymetic treatment in PBS solution has been modified for a high degree of cell datachment from T-25 flask and for transfer of a maximum number of viable cells from one culture to the next during the scale up process. Culture of Vero cells were washed with Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium(DMEM) and then exposed to DMEM containing trypsin(0.025%) and EDTA(0.16%). Up to 90% of cells detached from bottom of flask and the viability of cells was greater than 93%. The protocol using the developed method was successfully applied to the next 10 times scale up process. Consequently, the developed method changed multiple steps of processes to one step, so it promised th easy scale-up and low cost demand of animal cell culture.

여행비용접근법[TCM]에 의한 관광효과 추정 : 대호농어촌관광휴양단지를 중심으로 Application for Daeho Rural Tourism & Leisure Complex

Since 1989, 9 major complex have been invested with government funds, for the purpose of developing agricultural tourism to increase agricultural income and job opportunity, as well as providing urban population leisure opportunity. However, systematic and comprehensive approaches were rarely done in analyzing its economic impacts. This study, therefore, focuses on analyzing tourism effect and its economic value and implication for a representative rural tourism site, "Daeho rural tourism complex". To analyze travel pattern, expenditure pattern, and degree of satisfaction from travel to Daeho complex, Travel Cost Method(TCM) was employed based on survey method. Results from linear model with statistical significance implies that tourism benefit for each visitor is 28,373 won and total annual benefit for the Daeho site is 7 billion won. Considering annual benefit stream, the present value of total benefits are 132.9 billion won and 70 billion won at 5% and 10% of discounting rate, respectively. Using the values of benefit estimated from this study and investment cost, B/C ratio, IRR, and NPV were calculated to be 1.01, 1.67 billion won, and 5.19% at 5% of discounting rate. These results could be directly compared with the previous analyses.

Bacillus sp. GM44가 생산하는 Chitosanase의 동력학적 연구

Optimal conditions for the production of chitosanoligosaccharide were studied with chitosanase produced by Bacillus sp. GM44.Enzyme stability was maintained above 90% after 6 days at pH 5.0 and optimum initial reaction rate was appeared maximum in 1.0% of chitosan solution. The effect of PH on the production of chitosansaccharides was not significantly affected between pH 5.0 and 5.5.In case of temperature, the maximum activity of chitosanase was shown at 50℃. However, the maximum production yield of chitosanoligosaccharide was appeared at 40℃. The production yield of chitosanoligosaccharide was appeared above 90% at 0.4%~2.0% of chitosan solution and about 64.6% at 4.0% of chitosan solution. The final concentration of chitosanoligosaccharide appeared 3.438mg/ml at 1.0% of chitosan solution and 10.52mg/ml at 4.0% of chitosan solution. By TLC analysis, the composition of chitosanoligosaccharides was mainly 3-5mer. The optimum condition of pH and temperature for the production of chitosanoligosaccharides were pH 5.0 and 40℃, respectively.

Ultrasound-Guided Infraorbital Nerve Pulsed Radiofrequency Treatment for Intractable Postherpetic Neuralgia- A Case Report-

A 60-year-old man presented with pain on the left cheek and lateral nose. The patient had been diagnosed with facial herpes zoster in the left V2 area 6 months previously. Medical treatment was prescribed for 6 months but it had little effect. We blocked the left infraorbital nerve under ultrasound guidance, but pain relief was short term. Therefore, we performed pulsed radiofrequency treatment on the left infraorbital nerve under ultrasound guidance. Six months after the procedure, the reduction of pain was still maintained, and there was no need for further management. (Korean J Pain 2013; 26: 84-88)
