The objective of this study is to evaluate the operator performance working on the main control rooms in nuclear power plants with cognitive task analysis. In the cognitive task analysis, the goal-means decomposition method was applied to detailed task scenarios of the small break LOCA(loss of coolant accident). Two different cognitive task loadings, which are signal detections and operations, were analyzed using the distances of visual movement. The results of the analysis and their implications were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate seven portable police equipments in the respect of usability, administrative policy for police equipments, and job performance. In order to identify design problems of user interface for the police equipments, 256 police officers from 24 police stations were interviewed and given a questionnaire. The results of the survey demonstrated that the majority of the respondents were discontent with the portable police equipments. A statistical analysis also revealed that the dissatisfaction with the equipments was mainly due to the lack of human integration with the equipment design. As a result, it degraded performance of police work and also caused physical discomfort. This study suggests that a user-centered design of police equipments be required to improve task performance and fulfill job satisfaction of police officers.

The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify design defect of sink that may cause lower back pain, and (2) to propose design dimensions of a sink form preventing lower back pain. A preliminary survey showed that 52.8% of the respondents were not satisfied with sink units currently being used, and 93.1% of them pinpointed a sink as the most problematic factor causing lower back pain. The result of the subjective assessment are as follows: first, KS G5700, which prescribed the sink height as 80 90cm should be revised to be ranging from 80 to 100cm. Second, the faucet distance of 29-35cm range should be added to KS G5700. Finally, the optimal sink height and faucet distance should be installed at 8.9cm below the elbow height and 32cm from a sink front respectively. These results could be used as prevention of lower back pain so that housewives can work more comfortably and safely.
압박 고 나사로 치료한 대퇴골 전자부 골절 : 고정 실패의 인자에 대한 분석 Analysis of Factors associated with Failure of Fixation

목 적 : 압박 고 나사로 치료한 대퇴골 전자부 골절의 고정 실패에 영향을 미치는 요소에 대하여 분석하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 1995년 5월부터 2000년 7월까지 대퇴골 전자부 골절을 압박 고 나사를 이용하여 치료하고 1년 이상 추시가 가능했던 97예를 대상으로 하였다. 골절의 분류는 Jensen 분류법을, 골다공증의 정도는 Singh 지수를 이용하였다. 술후 방사선 검사에서 경체각, 정복 상태, 지연 나사의 대퇴골 두 내 위치, tip-apex distance(TAD) 및 지연 나사의 활강 거리를 측정하였고 고정 실패에 미치는 영향을 통계학적으로 분석하였다. 결 과 : 97예 중 17예(17%)에서 고정 실패가 발생하였고 그 중 지연 나사의 과도한 활강으로인한 경우가 15례(15.4%), 골두 천공 1얘, 10도 이상의 외반 변형 1예였다. 고정 실패의 발생과 80세 이상의 고령, 불안정성 골절, telescoping 정복, 원위 골편의 내측 혹은 전방 전위, 대퇴골 두 내 지연 나사의 위치와 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 결 론 : 압박 고 나사를 이용한 대퇴골 전자부 골절의 치료에서 고정 실패를 방지하기 위해서는 정확한 정복이 필요하고 대퇴골 두 내에서 지연 나사의 전방 위치를 피하는 것이 좋을 것으로 사료된다. Purpose : This study was performed to analyze the significant factors that may affect failure of fixation in trochanteric fractures of the femur treated with the compression hip screw. Materials and Methods : From May 1995 to July 2000, the authors analyzed 97 cases of trochanteric fracture of the femur treated with the compression hip screw and followed more than one year. We classified the fracture type by Jensen's method. We used Singh index for the degree of osteroporosis. In the post-operative radiograph, we checked neck-shaft angle, state of reduction, position of the lag screw within the femoral head, tip-apex distance, and sliding distance of the lag screw. The relationship between these factors and failure of fixation was statistically analyzed. Results : There were 17 cases(17.5%) of failure of fixation ; 15 cases(15.4%) of excessive sliding of the lag screw, 1 case (1%) of cutting out of the lag screw, and 1 case (1%) of valgus malunion. There were significant relationship between failure of fixation and old age over 80 , unstable fracture, telescoping reduction, anterior or medial displacement of the distal fragment, and anterior placement of the lag screw within the femoral head. Conclusion : Accurate reduction and avoidance of the placement of the lag screw in the anterior part of the femoral head were important factors to prevent failure of fixation in trochanteric fractures of the femur treated with the compression hip screw.
A Study on the Design of a VDT Work Station Using an Analytical Design Method

본 연구는 최적의 VDT(Visual Display Terminal) 작업장 설계를 위한 분석적 기법을 개발, 실행하는데 그 목적이 있다. 최적의 VDT 작업장 설계를 가능케 하는 분석적 설계기법은 첫째, 작업장 설계에 있어 필수적으로 고려되어야 할 7설계요소들을 선정하고 둘째, 선정된 각 설계변수에 대해 인간공학적 설계원칙을 적용, 각 설계변수의 물리적 치수를 결정하는 두 단계로 구성된다. 이러한 분석적 설계기법은 산업현장에서의 VDT 작업장 설계시 설계작업의 수행을 단순, 용이하게 하며 또한 VDT 작업장 설계를 위한 CAD 시스템 수립의 기초 연구로써 활용될 수 있다.
ERP와 연동 가능한 Web 기반 Recall Management System(RMSys) 개발

Recall aims to remove the products hazardous to consumers or users from the commerce. However, a recall with a poor decision making procedure could results in disaster to corporations. Therefore, recall managers should establish a proper recall plan in advance to minimize the damage to business. The purpose of the study is to propose a computerized recall management system(RMSys) to handle recall process systematically and timely manners. RMSys, a recall decision-making procedures software, consists of two different modules such as recall decision-making module and recall procedure module. RMSys on the basis of the world wide web is designed to be compatible to ERP(Enterprise Resources Panning). RMSys could play a role as a management support system to help the corporations recall the hazardous products with minimum efforts.
