        A Study on the Miniaturization of a Protective Device for the Micro Smart Grid Simulator

        In this paper, a miniaturization methodology of protective devices (PDs) was proposed which plays a key role in evaluating the efectiveness of the developed protection and control algorithms in the micro smart grid simulator. The micro PD was designed to have the rated voltage of 19 V and the breaking current of 20 A, and was designed in a multi-layered hardware structure to satisfy the size of 13×13 cm2 . Also, the micro PD was designed in a multifunctional structure to allow one micro PD to perform all the functions of the circuit breaker, recloser and switches on the micro smart grid simulator to enhance the efciency of development. Finally, it was verifed that the developed micro PD can be applied as protective devices of the micro smart grid simulator by showing that it operates correctly according to the predetermined operation sequence for the test scenarios on the built test system.

        승객용 승강기의 재해예방에 관한 연구

        Recently the car and elevator accidents as well as the fire, explosion and collapse increased. The passenger elevator accident from 1993 year to 2001 has about 56.7% of total accidents and the human victims of 180according to the Korea Elevator Safety Institute. Accident cause and prevention were investigated for the elevator having the fall, impact and narrowness accident types. The prevention and protection methods of the elevator accident from analysis results were suggested by comparing and analogizing the accident statistics about the accident investigation of the passenger elevator according to the elevator accidents.

      • Rat의 포유조절에 따른 난소와 유선의 조직학적 성상

        This experiment was conducted to investigate how the lactation regulation such as restricted-lactation, early weaning during the suckling period influences on ovarian functions in primiparous rats, on the bases of change in histological characteristics of ovary and mammary gland. 1. The ovaries of rats in middle lactation stage maintained the functional corpora lutea full of cytoplasm, and those of rats in late lactation stage contained matured ovarian follicles. 2. The milk was found full in the mammary gland tissue of NL rats, but short in the tissue of RL rats, and all the alveolar tissues were degraded in mammary gland of weaned rats. The alveoli structures of mammary gland of NL rats were uniformed on Day 10, but such uniformity was lost greatly on Day 20.

      • 제주 4 · 3사건에 관한 국제법적 고찰

        Historically, how a state treated persons within its territory was its own affair. That is, the question of human rights is only domestic question. But, after the Second World War, international society led to increased for the legal and social protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. Now contemporary international law begin to regards human rights as the concern of international society and international question. The United States Army Military Government(USAMGIK) ruled Korea from August 15, 1945 to August 15, 1948 and had the sole legal authority in Korea. There were massacres by american and korean troops in April 3, 1948 in Jeju island. At that time many people died in onslaught, about 30,000 or more people. The United States were, remain today, responsible for Jeju 4 · 3 massacres that occurred during that occupation. This essay try to study Jeju 4 · 3 massacre in international law. Relevant international law to the Jeju massacres, for example, 'the Convention with Respect to the Laws and Customs of War on Land', 'the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide', 'Geneva Convention Relating to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of August 12, 1949', 'Protocols Additional to the Geneva Conventions' and 'Convention on the Non-Applicability of Statutory Limitations to War Crimes against Humanity' provide that genocide, crimes against peace, conventional war crimes, crime against humanity and breach of important clause of Geneva Conventions are international crimes. Respect to the law and customs of war provide that: Civilians who do not take part in hostilities shall be respected and protected; Attacks on military objects must not cause loss of civilian life which is excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated; When launching an attack on a military objective, all feasible precautions shall be taken to avoid, and in any event to minimize, incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, and damage to civilian objects. And international humanitarian law applies with equal force to all the parties in an armed conflict irrespective of which party was responsible for starting that conflict. It comprises the whole of established law serving the protection of man in armed conflict. Generally, state responsibility can regard as a general principle of international law. The requisite of state responsibility are breach of international duty, accountability, occurrence of damage, and intention or omission of violating state. And the violating state has duty reparation of responsibility. Reparations are restitution, indemnity, satisfaction and so forth. In Jeju 4 · 3 massacres case, american and korean government, american soldiers and korean soldier and korean policeman had violated relevant international human rights law and international humanitarian law in suppression of Jeju rebellion. So american and korean government have to due state responsibility. And also person that had acted killing civilian according to order of authority have to due international responsibility. So, the american and korean government have to compensate for the victims in Jeju 4 · 3 massacres case. The appropriate methode of compensation for the victims is to indemnity and satisfaction with an apology.

      • TNT-분해세균인 Stenotrophomonas maltophilia에 의한 s-Triazine계 제초제인 Atrazine의 미생물학적 분해

        The agricultural use and relative persistence of s-triazine herbicide such as atrazine have led to increasing concern about environmental contamination. Stenotrophomonas maltophilia capable of utilizing TNT as sole nitrogen source has been isolated from contaminated soils and the bacterium showed excellent degradability for several-triazine herbicides including atrazine. Complete depletion of atrazine was achieved within 30 hours of incubation. Atrazine was catabolized in the presence of different supplemented carbons. Among the co-substrates used in this experiment (e.g., glucose, fructose, starch, succinate, acetate), fructose was the best co-substrate. However, no atrazine degradation was monitored without the supplemented co-substrates in the cultures. The relationships between atrazine degradation by S. maltophilia and several relevant physicochemical parameters (e.g., N-sources, yeast extract) were examined. High performance liquid chromatographic methodology was used to measure this substrate and it also resolved unknown intermediates.

        Dinitrotoluenes (e.g., 2.,4-Dinitrotoluene and 2,6-Dinitrotoluene) are the major impurity resulting from the manufacture of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene(TNT) and are primary starting materials for the synthesis of toluenediisocyanate which are used in the production of polyurethane foam. Both 2,4-DNT(2,4-dinitro- toluene) and 2,6-DNT(2,6-dinitrotoluene) are recalcitrant and have been shown to be toxic to aquatic and terrestrial organisms in the environment. Because little information is available for the biological degradation of DNTs, they have has not been evaluated for the possible treatment processes of industrial waste streams where DNTs may represent a serious disposal problem. In the present work, we explored the feasibility using a bacterium for DNTs degradation, with the ultimate aim of application for the industrial treatment. A DNTs-degrading bacterium was isolated from soil samples collected from an explosive contaminated area. Complete degradation of 2,4-DNT at the initial concentration of 50 ㎎ 2,4-DNT per liter was achieved within 10 days of incubation in bench-scale bioreactors, whereas 2,6-DNT degraded completely within 14 days under the same conditions, respectively. The bacterium was able to utilize DNTs as the sole nitrogen source. Co-substrate was essential for the bacterial growth and DNTs degradation in the medium. Neither bacterial growth nor DNTs degradation were observed in the absence of co-substrate. The detection of the parent substrates and their intermediates were based on HPLC and GC-MS methodology.

      • 오염된 토양으로부터 분리된 Burkholderia cepacia에 의한 2,4-D의 미생물학적 분해

        Mixed cultures capable of utilizing 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) as the sole carbon and energy source were enriched from contaminated soils which had a previous history of annual 2,4-D application. Among six strains isolated from the mixed cultures, the isolate which had an excellent 2,4-D degradability was selected. Morphological observation and various physiological characterization were performed for the isolate. MIS (microbial identification system) was used for the identification of the isolate, and assigned as Burkholderia cepacia. Complete degradation of 2,4-D was achieved in the experiment within 28 hours of incubation. 2,4-DCP(2,4-dichlorophenol) was produced as a metabolite during 2,4-D degradation. For the analyses of 2,4-D and 2,4-DCP, HPLC and UV-spectrophotometer were used in this study.
