        승화방법에 의해 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 성장하여 결정구조를 조사하고, Van der Pauw 방법으로 Hall effect를 측정하여 carrier density의 온도 의존성과 mobility의 온도 의존성을 조사하였다. 성장된 CdS_0.46Se_0.54 단결정을 치환반응하여 n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 이종접합 태양전지를 제작하였다. Spectral response, 전류-전압특성 및 전력변환 효율을 조사하여 그 결과로부터 개방전압은 0.48V, 단락 전류 밀도는 21mA/㎠, fill factor와 전력변환효율은 각각 0.75와 9.5%를 얻었다. CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal was grown by a sublimation method. The crystal structure and the temperature dependence of carrier density and mobility of CdS_0.46Se_0.54 single crystal were studied. Heterojunction solar cells on n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 were fabricated by the substitution reaction. The spectral response, the J-U characteristics and the conversion efficiency of the n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells were studied. The open-cricuit voltage, short-circuit density, fill factor and conversion efficiency of n-CdS_0.46Se_0.54/p-Cu_2-xS_0.46Se_0.54 heterojunction solar cells under 80mW/㎠ illumination were found to be 0.48V, 21mA/㎠, 0.75 and 9.5%, respectively.

      • 절수에 의한 mongolian gerbil의 체중 변화에 관한 연구

        Recently, the mongolian gerbils have been used in neurology and the study of water metabolism because of their easy onset of epileptic seizure and typical resistance to water deprivation. The sebaceous glands which are under the control of the gonadal hrmones are differently developed from the other laboratory animals. However the physiological data on the changes of body weight following water deprivation in mongolian gerbils is not available until now. In order to investigate the effect of the water deprivation on the body weight, the animals were deprived of water for 15 days. The body weights were measured daily by the torsion balance. The mean, the standard deviation, the standard error and the coefficient of variance of the body weights were calculated. The correlation was examined. The potential regression equation was y = 61.5458 - 2.0533 * x + 0.0487 * x^2. The regression coefficient was 0.993. The results obtained were as follows : 1. The body weights of the mongolian gerbils were continuously decrased from the 1st day to the 15th day after the water deprivation. 2. The mean body weight on the water deprivation was 63.0±7.00g and that at the 15th day was 41.4 ± 5.42g. 3. The coefficients of the variance showed the highest (13.09) at the 15th day and the lowest (10.10) at the 10th day. the coefficients of the variance kept decreasing until the 10th day and thereafter gradually increased until the 15th day. 4. The changing rate of the body weight kept continuously decreasing from the 1st day to the 15th day showing the daily loss of 1.0 - 3.3%. 5.The deviations (M - QBW) between the measured values (m) and the theorical values (QBW) using the regression equation showed the highest (1.494) at the 1st day and the lowest (0.053) at the 13th day. 6. The sum of the devitions was 0.179 and that of the deviation square was 1.15. The sum of the deviation rates between the mesaured body weights and the theorical ones was 0.484. 7. The daily body weight loss showed the highest at the 1st day by 2.053g and the lowest at the 15th day by 0.591g. 8. The specific body weight changing rates which were the rate of the body weight changing velocity to the changed body weight were decreased from 0.033% at the 1st day to 0.014% at the 15th day.

        We had grown Cd_0.78Zn_0.22S polycrystal thin films on slide substrate using chemical vapour deposition(CVD) method. We measured X-ray diffraction patterns in order to study Cd_0.78Zn_0.22S polycrystal structure. We studied its band gap using transmission curves and photocurrent and also analyzed photoluminescence using configurational coordinate model. We measured Hall effect·on this sample by Van der Pauw method and studied on carrier density and mobility depending on temperature.

        KAL기 추락에 의한 대량재해의 개인식별

        Individual identification is an important part in medicolegal field especially in mass disaster. At July, 27, 1989, KAL KE-803 was crashed on landing at Tripoli International Airport, Liba. The plane was caught in fire and sixty eight Koreans were sacrified. The majority of victims were severely charred and injured. The authors examed all dead bodies and successfully identified all the cases through visual, anthropological, odontological, radiological and pathological methods including fingerprint and blood typing.

      • Lentigo maligna melanoma mimicking seborrheic keratosis

        Lentigo maligna melanoma(LMM) constitutes 10%-15% of cutaneous melanomas. LMM most commonly affects the sun-exposed skin of the elderly. It is frequently mistaken clinically for other pigmented neoplasms, which may result in a delay of diagnosis and treatment. It is the least common type of melanoma and rarely affects the Koreans. There are few reports regarding LMM in Korean literature. We report a case of lentigo maligna melanoma occurring in 72-year-old man. The patient presented with solitary, 1.0x1.0cm-sized, black colored plaque on left cheek. The lesion developed 9 months ago and recently the size has been increased. Skin biopsy specimen showed epidermal atrophy and proliferation of atypical melanocytes with hyperchromatic nuclei along the basal layer, solar elastosis, and invasion of melanocytes into the dermis. On immunohistochemical study, the tumor cells were positive for S-100 protein, HMB-45 and Ki-67. Therefore, lentigo maligna melanoma was diagnosed. He was treated with the wide excision with full thickness skin graft. The skin lesions were cured without recurrence.

      • Amelanotic melanoma mimicking eccrine poroma

        Amelanotic melanoma which produces little or no pigment is a subgroup of malignant melanoma. So it is frequently mistaken clinically for a non-melanocytic neoplasm or dermatitis, which may result in a delay of diagnosis and treatment. As a consequence, previous studies have shown that it has a poor prognosis. We report a case of amelanotic melanoma occurring in 53-year-old male. The patient presented with a solitary, tender, 2.0x1.5cm-sized, well-defined erythematous ulcerative plaque with swelling and pus discharge on the right heel for 3 months. There are right inguinal lymph nodes enlargement. Skin biopsy specimen showed atypical, pleomorphic tumor cells with little melanin pigment. On immunohistochemical study, the tumor cells were positive for S-100 protein, HMB-45 and Ki-67. Because of these histologic findings, amelanotic melanoma was diagnosed. We performed whole-body PET/CT for evaluating systemic involvement. He was treated with wide excision with full thickness skin graft on the right heel and inguinal lymph node dissection. PET/CT showed hypermetabolic lesions on the right heel and right inguinal area. Based on these findings and the TMNB staging, the subject was diagnosed with stage IIIC (T4bN3M0) amelanotic melanoma. Then he is treating with adjuvant interferon-α immunotherapy.

      • Human immunodeficiency virus infection manifested as the presenting condyloma acuminatum

        Condyloma acuminatum is common sexually transmitted disorder caused by human papillomaviruses. It consists of epidermal and dermal papules or nodules on the perineum, genitalia, crural folds, and anus. It varies in size and can form large, exophytic, cauliflower-like masses, especially in the moist environment of the perineum. There have been few studies about relationship between condyloma acuminatum and HIV infection. We report a case of human immunodeficiency virus infection manifested as the presenting condyloma acuminatum. A 55-year-old heterosexual healthy man presenting with multiple grouped brownish verrucous papules on the perianal area. Histologic examination showed hyperkeratosis, acanthosis and papillomatosis in the epidermis. In the thickened epidermis, there were several keratinocyte with vacuolated cytoplasm. Anti-HIV antibodies were detected in electrochemiluminescence immunoassay(ECLIA) and confirmed by Western blot assay. Therefore, he was diagnosed as condyloma acuminatum with HIV infection. For further treatment of both HIV infection and condyloma acuminatum, we transfered the patient to hospital specialized in HIV infection.

      • Cellulitis presenting as necrotizing fasciitis

        Cellulitis is an acute infection of the dermis and subcutaneous fat, that presents with erythema, pain, firm and tender induration, and less commonly, fluctuance. In some cases of cellulitis, the overlying epidermis undergoes bulla formation or necrosis, resulting in extensive areas of epidermal sloughing and superficial erosion. Necrotizing fasciitis is an uncommon infection of the subcutaneous soft tissue and fascia. Clinical diagnosis is often initially confused with cellulitis, and delay in diagnosis and treatment is highly lethal, so an early diagnosis and a radical debridement of all affected tissues is necessary. We report a case of cellulitis presenting as necrotizing fasciitis in a 56-year-old man. He presented with localized painful erythematous patches, hemorrhagic bullae with swelling on the left lower leg for 3 days. Laboratory tests revealed the elevated levels of WBC counts(16, 580/mm3), hepatic enzymes (AST 121IU, ALT 176IU), and CRP(15.74). He has high fever, but blood culture was negative. Skin biopsy specimen showed moderate infiltrates of mixed inflammatory cells through the dermis. MRI showed diffuse, ill-defined, irregular linear and reticular high signal intensity soft tissue change with swelling at subcutaneous fat layer of lower leg. He was treated with systemic antibiotics(cefotaxime 3g, ciprofloxacin 800mg/day). The skin lesions improved one month after treatment, and recurrence has not been observed.

      • Toxic epidermal necrolysis associated with methazolamide treatment

        Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is rare life-threatening disease, characterized by extensive necrosis and detachment of the epidermis. The pathophysiology of TEN is still unclear. But drugs are the most important etiologic factors. More than 100 different drugs have been implicated. High risk dugs are antibacterial sulfonamides, aromatic anticonvulsants, allopurinol, oxicam non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, lamotrigine and nevirapine. This disease also has been often associated with methazolamide which is a sulfonamide derivative and carbonic anhydrase inhibitor used for lowering of intraocular pressure in glucoma. We report a case of TEN induced by methazolamide on the 63-year-old glaucomatous male patient who presented with multiple, pricking erythematous macules, patches with bullae on the face, trunk, both extremities involving erosive oral mucosa. He received IVIG and corticosteroid treatment, given initially as 5g IVIG daily for 3 days and intravenous 250mg methylprednisolone daily and later changed to oral methylprednisolone. New epithelialization appeared within 2 weeks, and the lesions gradually resolved. The patient was discharged with normal oral feeding 6 weeks after admission. He has remained in good health without recurrence of symptoms during 7 months of follow-up. Methazolamide should be prescribed with caution in Korean glucomatous patients.
