Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

Dental Caries which has high prevalence rate, accounts for majority of dental diseases. Many treatment and preventive treatment has been developed, thereby reducing the prevalence rate, but in our country, flouridization has not spread widely yet, so prevention has not been done satisfactorily. When dental caries progresses, irreversible damage of tooth structure occurs. In initial dental caries. Demiteralized tooth structure can be remineralized, so restorative treatment is unnecessary. In the study, 20 teeth restored with composite resin without fluoride release were used and divided into two groups. Incipient dental caries were artificially made and remineralization procedure was done for 1 and 2 weeks, for each group. Changes in mineral contents aroud the margins were analysed with confocal laser scanning microscope. The results were as follow. 1.Both total fluorescence of the lesion and average fluorescence of the lesion of remineralized samples decreased compared to demineralized state. (p<0.01) 2.Confocal laser scanning microscopy can be used in quantitative analysis of mineral change. In result, confocal laser scanning microscopy can be used in quantitative analysis of mineral change and it could be used in many different fields of dentistry in the future. This study was conducted to identify irradiation-derived volatile components, having positive-correlation with irradiation doses, which may play roles as maker materials for detecting post-irradiation in pork meat. The volatile components of irradiated(0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 kGy doses) pork(Belly) meat was analyzed by liquid liquid continuous extraction(LLCE)/GC/MSD methods. By the results of linear regression analysis between irradiation doses and volatile component amounts in fresh pork, 3 compounds including γ-octalactone(r=0.82), 1-octen-3-ol(r=0.90) and butanoic acid(r=0.81) had high correlations with irradiation doses.
활성탄 및 목탄의 첨가가 산양의 영양소 이용율 및 반추위내 발효성상에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the addition of activated charcoal (AC) and oak charcoal on the ruminal fermentation characteristics, nutrient utilization in Korean native goats. Compared to reference diet, digestibility of dry matter, and crude protein in AC and charcoal diets tended to incraese. However, any tendency in ruminal degradation of crude fat was not observed. Ruminal degradation of NDF in AC diets tended to be more increased than that in non-AC diet. Although it was not significant, ADF tended to be increased in AC and charcoal diets. AC and charcoal did not affect the ruminal pH and ammonia-N. Concentration of total VFA and butyrate tended to be increased by adding AC and charcoal(p<0.05). Although it was not significant, acetate/propionate ratio tended to decreased in AC and charcoal diets. Although there appeared some beneficial effects in adding AC and charcoal to ruminant diets in this study, more works could be needed with AC before we can make clear conclusion on use of AC and charcoal in the ruminant diets.

최근 홈 네트워크 산업이나 지능형 주거관리 시스템의 필요성과 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이와 같은 분야에서는 무엇보다 효율적인 측정 시스템에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 센서 측정 시스템 설계에 관한 기초 연구로서 실내 환경에 적합한 온도 측정 시스템을 설계해 보고 그 특성에 대해 나타내었다. 설계한 시스템의 구성은 크게 온도 센서로부터 온도 변화를 검출하는 데이터 획득부, 신호처리를 위한 제어부 그리고 측정된 온도 데이터를 전송하기 위한 RF 송수신부로 나누어진다. 설계된 측정 시스템에 거리변화 및 장애물 유무에 따른 영향을 살펴보고, 안테나 변경에 따른 성능 차이를 살펴보았다. 실험 결과 10m 이내의 실내 환경에서는 본 논문에서 제안하고 설계한 측정 시스템을 사용하여 데이터의 실시간 처리가 가능하였다. 또한 이를 바탕으로 다중 센서 측정 시스템 구현이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. Recently, the need for intelligent sweet home systems and home network industry is increasing. In this field, a study on efficient measurement system is preceded by the other subjects. Therefore, in this paper, a study on efficient sensor measurement system, temperature measurement system suitable for room environment is designed and its property is given. We designed temperature measurement systems consisting of data acquisition part as a temperature sensor, control unit for signal processing and RF moduls for data transmit. The results of experiment showed real-time processing in the room environment within 10 meter. It also showed the possibility of multi-sensors measurement system.

This study aims at providing useful data for the design of underground stations through an extensive survey of acoustic properties in underground stations in Seoul. In order to improve the sound efficiency at the underground station, sound characteristics in the space of the underground station were studied. Architectural features of underground stations located in Seoul were examined by visiting every site and analyzing drawings. The distinction in architectural features of this study resulted in the line-side section, the shape of under-platform section and ceiling material. Number of underground stations was selected and categorized based on architectural features, such as line-side section, the shape of platform section and ceiling material. Each selected station was revisited and the noise levels were measured and compared with the architectural features. The study found that the Sum-Sik type is more efficient than the one of the Sang-Dae-Sik type, which can be used for subway stations. The semi-circular section for the railway-side seems to contribute on the attenuation of noise transmitting from trains to the platform. In addition, the aluminum absorbing panel, net luber and zinc plate (panel 40% and net 60%) as ceiling meterial are more efficient than the horizontal aluminum spendral panel, vertical aluminum spendral panel with line and zinc plate (panel 40% and net 60%), respectively.
