A novel conversion for blast furnace slag (BFS) to the synthesis of hydroxyapatite-zeolite material and its evaluation of adsorption properties

        Changxin Li,Xiang Li,Yuan Yu,Qingwu Zhang,Li Li,Hong Zhong,Shuai Wang 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.105 No.-

Blast furnace slag (BFS), as a byproduct from manufacturing iron, served as a cost-effective raw materialfor preparation of hydroxyapatite-zeolite composite material (HAP-ZE); this research introduces a way ofsynthesizing hydroxyapatite-zeolite composite material (HAP-ZE) using BFS with alkaline fusion andhydrothermal treatment. According to analysis with XRD, FT-IR, BET, ICP, FE-SEM, EDX and elementalmapping, the major phases in the HAP-ZE composite material synthesized under the most desirable conditions(at aging time of 6 h and at Ca/P ratio (starting gel) = 1.67) were identified to be zeolite and HAPwith molar ratio of Ca/P = 1.61, Si/Al = 1.31, Na/Al = 1.75 and with a mean surface area of 44.22 m2.g 1. Moreover, the research found that the minor metals (Mg, Fe, K, etc.) generated from BFS have little influenceon the synthesis of HAP-ZE. The thus obtained HAP-ZE material has a great adsorption performancein removing Mn2+, NH4 + and phosphate ions mixed in water, on grounds of the higher ion-exchange capacitiesand abundantly existing Ca2+ ions in HAP-ZE structure. This novel process makes synthesizing HAPZEcomposite material from BFS possible and lays a great foundation for effective application of BFS.

Histone acetyltransferase inhibitors antagonize AMP-activated protein kinase in postmortem glycolysis

        Qiong Li,Zhongwen Li,Aihua Lou,Zhenyu Wang,Dequan Zhang,Qingwu W. Shen 아세아·태평양축산학회 2017 Animal Bioscience Vol.30 No.6

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activation on protein acetylation and glycolysis in postmortem muscle to better understand the mechanism by which AMPK regulates postmortem glycolysis and meat quality. Methods: A total of 32 mice were randomly assigned to four groups and intraperitoneally injected with 5-Aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide1-β-D-ribofuranoside (AICAR, a specific activator of AMPK), AICAR and histone acetyltransferase inhibitor II, or AICAR, Trichostatin A (TSA, an inhibitor of histone deacetylase I and II) and Nicotinamide (NAM, an inhibitor of the Sirt family deacetylases). After mice were euthanized, the Longissimus dorsi muscle was collected at 0 h, 45 min, and 24 h postmortem. AMPK activity, protein acetylation and glycolysis in postmortem muscle were measured. Results: Activation of AMPK by AICAR significantly increased glycolysis in postmortem muscle. At the same time, it increased the total acetylated proteins in muscle 45 min postmortem. Inhibition of protein acetylation by histone acetyltransferase inhibitors reduced AMPK activation induced increase in the total acetylated proteins and glycolytic rate in muscle early postmortem, while histone deacetylase inhibitors further promoted protein acetylation and glycolysis. Several bands of proteins were detected to be differentially acetylated in muscle with different glycolytic rates. Conclusion: Protein acetylation plays an important regulatory role in postmortem glycolysis. As AMPK mediates the effects of pre-slaughter stress on postmortem glycolysis, protein acetylation is likely a mechanism by which antemortem stress influenced postmortem metabolism and meat quality though the exact mechanism is to be elucidated.

        中国出口信用保险制度:问题、构成与完善对策

        李?武(LI QINGWU) 동아대학교 법학연구소 2016 國際去來와 法 Vol.- No.15

“The Berne Union General Understanding”(BUGU) which regulating the business of the international export credit insurers, is the result of consultations among the developed countries, summarizing the successful experience of different export credit insurance. Although BUGU belongs to soft law, the mandatory provisions are binding on its members. The purpose of the Export Credit Insurance Company of China is for realizing the policy of export and investment abroad. Its government-run and monopoly status without legal regulation is not conducive to the implementation of Chinas exports and foreign investment policies, but also leads to the loss of state assets. This paper illuminates the problems to which the China Export & Credit Insurance faces, for example, the system of governance structure is illegal, and the mandatory plan for the sum insured by export credit insurance violates the basic principles of underwriting, and the information of insurance coverage is not published for the public, and there are many King provisions in insurance contract. To deal with the above problems, this paper discusses some proposed countermeasures with the enlightenment of BUGU and the experience of developed countries.

Human Visual System based Automatic Underwater Image Enhancement in NSCT domain

( Yan Zhou ),( Qingwu Li ),( Guanying Huo ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.2

Underwater image enhancement has received considerable attention in last decades, due to the nature of poor visibility and low contrast of underwater images. In this paper, we propose a new automatic underwater image enhancement algorithm, which combines nonsubsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) domain enhancement techniques with the mechanism of the human visual system (HVS). We apply the multiscale retinex algorithm based on the HVS into NSCT domain in order to eliminate the non-uniform illumination, and adopt the threshold denoising technique to suppress underwater noise. Our proposed algorithm incorporates the luminance masking and contrast masking characteristics of the HVS into NSCT domain to yield the new HVS-based NSCT. Moreover, we define two nonlinear mapping functions. The first one is used to manipulate the HVS-based NSCT contrast coefficients to enhance the edges. The second one is a gain function which modifies the lowpass subband coefficients to adjust the global dynamic range. As a result, our algorithm can achieve contrast enhancement, image denoising and edge sharpening automatically and simultaneously. Experimental results illustrate that our proposed algorithm has better enhancement performance than state-of-the-art algorithms both in subjective evaluation and quantitative assessment. In addition, our algorithm can automatically achieve underwater image enhancement without any parameter tuning.

Phosphoproteomic profiling of myofibrillar and sarcoplasmic proteins of muscle in response to salting

        Zhang, Caixia,Wang, Zhenyu,Li, Zheng,Shen, Qingwu,Chen, Lijuan,Gao, Lingling,Zhang, Dequan 한국식품과학회 2016 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.25 No.4

A phosphoproteomic profile of myofibrillar and sarcoplasmic proteins of muscle in response to salting was investigated. Myofibrillar and sarcoplasmic proteins extracted from salted meat with 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5% salt for 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 16 h were analyzed by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and fluorescence staining. The global phosphorylation of myofibrillar proteins in salted meat was lower than that in control muscle at 16 h of salting (p<0.05), and the global phosphorylation of myofibrillar proteins in 3% salt-treated group at 16 h was the lowest. However, salting showed no significant effect on phosphorylation of sarcoplasmic proteins. Four categories of phosphorylated protein were identified by LC-MS/MS, involved in stress response (heat shock protein), glycometabolism (glycogen phosphorylase, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase), oxidation or reduction (superoxide dismutase), and others (myoglobin), the phosphorylation of which was affected by salting. Thus, salting may influence meat quality through protein phosphorylation, which regulates protein degradation and glycolysis.

Ovarian transcriptomic analysis of Shan Ma ducks at peak and late stages of egg production

        Zhu, ZhiMing,Miao, ZhongWei,Chen, HongPing,Xin, QingWu,Li, Li,Lin, RuLong,Huang, QinLou,Zheng, NenZhu Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2017 Animal Bioscience Vol.30 No.9

Objective: To assess the differences in ovarian transcriptomes in Shan Ma ducks between their peak and late stages of egg production, and to obtain new transcriptomic data of these egg-producing ducks. Methods: The Illumina HiSeq 2000 system was used for high throughput sequencing of ovarian transcriptomes from Shan Ma ducks at their peak or late stages of egg production. Results: Greater than 93% of the sequencing data had a base quality score (Q score) that was not less than 20 (Q20). From ducks at their peak stage of egg production, 42,782,676 reads were obtained, with 4,307,499,083 bp sequenced. From ducks at their late stage of egg production, 45,316,166 reads were obtained, with 4,562,063,363 bp sequenced. A comparison of the two datasets identified 2,002 differentially expressed genes, with 790 upregulated and 1,212 downregulated. Further analysis showed that 1,645 of the 2,002 differentially expressed genes were annotated in the non-redundant (NR) database, with 646 upregulated and 999 downregulated. Among the differentially expressed genes with annotations in the NR database, 696 genes were functionally annotated in the clusters of orthologous groups of proteins database, involving 25 functional categories. One thousand two hundred four of the differentially expressed genes with annotations in the NR database were functionally annotated in the gene ontology (GO) database, and could be divided into three domains and 56 categories. The three domains were cellular component, molecular function, and biological process. Among the genes identified in the GO database, 451 are involved in development and reproduction. Analysis of the differentially expressed genes with annotations in the NR database against the Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes database revealed that 446 of the genes could be assigned to 175 metabolic pathways, of which the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor signaling pathway, insulin signaling pathway, fructose and mannose metabolic pathways, gonadotropin releasing hormone signaling pathway and transforming growth factor beta signaling pathway were significantly enriched. Conclusion: The differences in ovarian transcriptomes in Shan Ma ducks between their peak and late stages of egg production were elucidated, which greatly enriched the ovarian transcriptomic information of egg-producing ducks.

Dietary supplementation of Eucommia leaf extract to growing-finishing pigs alters muscle metabolism and improves meat quality

        Shen Zhenglei,Liu Chuxin,Deng Chuangye,Guo Qiuping,Li Fengna,Shen Qingwu W. 아세아·태평양축산학회 2024 Animal Bioscience Vol.37 No.4

Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of dietary supplementation of Eucommia ulmoides leaf extract (ELE) on muscle metabolism and meat quality of pigs with and without pre-slaughter transportation. Methods: In a 43-day feeding experiment, a total of 160 pigs with an initial body weight 60.00±2.00 kg were randomly assigned into four groups in a completely randomized design with 10 replicates. Pigs in groups A and C were fed a basal diet and pigs in groups B and D were fed a basal diet supplemented with 0.5% ELE. Pigs were slaughtered with (group B and D) or without (group A and C) pre-slaughter transport. Muscle chemical composition, postmortem glycolysis, meat quality and muscle metabolome were analyzed. Results: Dietary ELE supplementation had no effect on the proximate composition of porcine muscle, but increased free phenylalanine, proline, citruline, norvaline, and the total free amino acids in muscle. In addition, dietary ELE increased decanoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, but decreased heptadecanoic acid, oleic acid, trans-oleic acid, and monounsaturated fatty acids in muscle. Meat quality measurement demonstrated that ELE improved meat water holding capacity and eliminated the negative effects of pre-slaughter transport on meat cooking yield and tenderness. Dietary ELE reduced muscle glycolytic potential, inhibited glycolysis and muscle pH decline in the postmortem conversion of muscle to meat and increased the activity of citrate synthase in muscle. Metabolomics analysis by liquid chromatographic tandem mass spectrometric showed that ELE enhanced muscle energy level, regulated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling, modulated glycogenolysis/glycolysis, and altered the metabolism of carbohydrate, fatty acids, ketone bodies, amino acids, purine, and pyrimidine. Conclusion: Dietary ELE improved meat quality and alleviated the negative effect of preslaughter transport on meat quality by enhancing muscle oxidative metabolism capacity and inhibiting glycolysis in postmortem muscle, which is probably involved its regulation of AMPK.
