With the gradual increase in the proportion of renewable energy generation such as wind power, it is necessary to implement low-carbon transformation of thermal power units and fully exploit the capacity of industrial load demand response, so as to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutralization of energy and power. On this basis, a multi-time scale scheduling method considering typical industrial load production processes is proposed in this paper. Firstly, with regard to the source, a comprehensive fexible operation mode of carbon capture power plants is introduced to coordinate with wind power. In the aspect of the load, the production characteristics of two typical industrial users are specifcally considered, and the production models that meet their specifc constraints are established. Secondly, the day-ahead and intra-day two-stage economic dispatch model of source–load coordination is constructed so as to optimize the production plan of typical industrial load and the output of units, while improving the problem of load loss and wind curtailment. Finally, an example analysis is carried out. The results show that the scheduling method proposed in this paper can make use of the scheduling advantages of source–load adjustable resources to realize the economic dispatch of power system.

The stability of high soil slope is affected by many factors with characteristics of random and uncertain. This paper evaluates the stability of high soil slope by Bishop and M-P methods, considering the 5 factors: unit weight, cohesion, internal friction angle, overall slope angle and horizontal earthquake acceleration coefficient. According to the selected 5 factors and based on the orthogonality analysis, this paper builds 16 group tests of five four-level factors table and obtains the different influence on the FOS by various levels of each factor itself. Furthermore, related standards and engineering practices have proved well that M-P method is more suitable to the approximately circular arc shaped instable sliding, which is most often occurred in high soil slope, than Bishop method. With multi-index comprehensive evaluation method, this paper proceeds to obtain a comprehensive score presenting the stability of high soil by weighted calculating the FOS under the two limit equilibrium methods above and especially weight of FOS of M-P method is larger. Finally, it is concluded that the factors influencing on the stability of high soil slope in order, considering the five four-level factors in this case, is horizontal earthquake acceleration coefficient, internal friction angle, cohesion, unit weight and overall slope angle.

Guided by bioisosterism and pharmacokinetic parameters, we designed and synthesized a series of novel benzamide derivatives. Preliminary in vitro studies indicated that compounds 10b and 10j show significant inhibitory bioactivity in HepG2 cells (IC50 values of 0.12 and 0.13 μM, respectively). Compounds 10b and 10j induced the expression of HIF-1α protein and downstream target gene p21, and upregulated the expression of cleaved caspase-3 to promote tumor cells apoptosis.

We have found that the previously uncharacterized bone morphogenetic protein-9 (BMP9) is one of the most osteogenic factors. However, it is unclear if BMP9 cross-talks with TGFβ1 during osteogenic differentiation. Using the recombinant BMP9 adenovirus, we find that low concentration of rhTGFβ1 synergistically induces alkaline phosphatase activity in BMP9-transduced C3H10T1/2 cells and produces more pronounced matrix mineralization. However, higher concentrations of TGFβ1 inhibit BMP9-induced osteogenic activity. Real-time PCR and Western blotting indicate that BMP9 in combination with low dose of TGFβ1 potentiates the expression of later osteogenic markers osteopontin, osteocalcin and collagen type 1 (COL1a2), while higher concentrations of TGFβ1 decrease the expression of osteopontin and osteocalcin but not COL1a2. Cell cycle analysis reveals that TGFβ1 inhibits C3H10T1/2 proliferation in BMP9-induced osteogenesis and restricts the cells in G0/G1 phase. Our findings strongly suggest that TGFβ1 may exert a biphasic effect on BMP9-induced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. [BMB Reports 2012; 45(9): 509-514]

Volatile components of Chinese Sinkiang camel-naizi (CSCN) were analyzed using solid phase microextraction-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (SPME-GC/MS). A total of 45 volatile compounds were identified by using 3 fibers, including 17 alcohols, 4aldehydes, 13 acids, 8 esters, 1 sulfur-containing compound,1 lactone, and 1 ketone. Among all the compounds identified, various alcoholic compounds accounted for 78.91% of the total volatiles, and the amount of various esters was only next to that of alcohols, which accounted for 15.01% of the total volatiles. The content of acids, lactone, aldehydes, ketone, and sulfur-containing compound accounted for 6.08%. All of these volatiles constituted the characteristic flavor of raisin-like, fruity, sweet, cheesy, and yogurt-like note of CSCN. The extraction performances of 3 types of SPME fibers (75 μm CAR/PDMS, 65 μm PDMS/DVB, and 50/30 μm DVB/CAR/PDMS) were compared in this study. Of the 3 fibers, the DVB/CAR/PDMS fiber extracted the most volatiles, and the CAR/PDMS fiber the least. The DVB/CAR/PDMS fiber showed the best performance in trapping compounds of CSCN with different polarities.

Tubular reinforced concrete columns of air-cooling condenser structures, which undertake the most weight of air cooling equipment, are the major components to resist lateral forces under earthquake. Once collapsed, huge casualties and economic loss would be caused. Thus, four 1/8 scaled specimens were fabricated and tested through the pseudo-static testing method. Failure modes and crack patterns of the specimens under cyclic loading were observed. Then, finite element models of tubular reinforced concrete columns were established using OpenSees and were verified with the experimental results. Finally, the influence of axial compression ratio and longitudinal reinforcement on energy dissipation capacity and stiffness degradation were studied based on the validated finite element modes. It is confirmed that tubular reinforced concrete columns of air-cooling condenser structure exhibit a moderate ability of energy dissipation, and the nonlinear finite element model could reasonably simulate its seismic behavior. Furthermore, axial compression ratio and longitudinal reinforcement are main factors which affect the seismic behavior of the tubular reinforced concrete columns. The experimental results and simulation method provide an available way to design this kind of large tubular reinforced concrete columns with thin-wall.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to construct a saponin content-predicting model using shortwave infrared imaging spectroscopy. Methods: The experiment used a shortwave imaging spectrometer and ENVI spectral acquisition software sampling a spectrum of 910 nm-2500 nm. The corresponding preprocessing and mathematical modeling analysis was performed by Unscrambler 9.7 software to establish a ginsenoside nondestructive spectral testing prediction model. Results: The optimal preprocessing method was determined to be a standard normal variable transformation combined with the second-order differential method. The coefficient of determination, $R^2$, of the mathematical model established by the partial least squares method was found to be 0.9999, while the root mean squared error of prediction, RMSEP, was found to be 0.0043, and root mean squared error of calibration, RMSEC, was 0.0041. The residuals of the majority of the samples used for the prediction were between ${\pm}1$. Conclusion: The experiment showed that the predicted model featured a high correlation with real values and a good prediction result, such that this technique can be appropriately applied for the nondestructive testing of ginseng quality.

To analyze the effects of a new unknown peptide DEF on the growth of tumor cells, a fused polypeptide TAT-DV1-DEF was designed and synthesized. The lung adenocarcinoma cell line GLC-82 treated with TAT-DV1-DEF was analyzed with a cell counting kit 8, and the location of polypeptides in cells was observed under laser confocal microscopy. The efficiency of polypeptide transfection and changes in nuclear morphology were analyzed by flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy, respectively. Finally, the mechanism of tumor cell growth inhibition was evaluated by Western blotting. We found that TAT-DV1-DEF could significantly inhibit the growth of the lung adenocarcinoma cell line GLC-82, but not the normal human embryonic kidney cell line HEK-293. Polypeptides were found to be mostly localized in the cytoplasm and some mitochondria. The efficiency of polypeptide transfection in the two cell types was approximately 99%. Apoptotic nuclei were observed under fluorescence microscopy upon treatment with polypeptides and DAPI staining. Western blot analyses indicated that the polypeptide inhibition of tumor cell growth was apoptosis dependent. In the present study, we demonstrated that fused polypeptides could induce apoptosis of the lung adenocarcinoma cell line GLC-82, indicating that the new unknown peptide DEF has antitumor effects.
