        This study was designed to evaluate prevalence of allergen-specific antibodies in healthy adults. During Mar. ~ Aug. 2001, 1,925 subjects visited for medical check-up, were inquired to fill out a standardized questionnaire. Among them, 200 subjects who had no current and past allergic disorders were randomly selected for rhe current study and examined for allergen-specific antibodies using Korean inhalant panel of MAST-CLA allergen-specific IgE assay. Among them, 170 persons (85.0%) did not have any positive allergen-specific antibody. Each positive rate of 35 allergen specific antibodies was usually less than 3%, except Cockroach Mix (3.5%), Dermatophagoides farinae(8.5%), Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus(6.0%). Among 30 positive subjects, 19(63.3%) showed one or two allergen-specific antibodies. Although atopic subjects in non-allergic population were not common, few of them showed allergen-specific antibodies in Korean inhalant panel of MAST-CLA. Our results suggested that the standardized questionnaire and MAST-CLA could be an useful tool of a screening test for allergy, showing high specificity and sensitivity.

      • 알레르기 환자에서 MAST-CLA 검사의 의의

        To evaluate usefulness of application of MAST-CLA to indetify allergens, authors conducted MAST-CLA allergen-specific IgE assay and collected allergy related symptoms in 118 allergic patients diagnosed at Soonchunhyang University Chunan Hospital during October 1998 through January 2000. The results were as followings; 1. The mean (SD) age was 23.1 (±12.17) years old and teenagers accounted for 33.1% of patients. 2. The frequent allergic symptoms were sneezing (59.3%), rhinorrhea (53.4%), nasal stiffness (44.1%), itching sensation (24.6%), cough or sputum (16.1%), and eye symptom (8.5%) in order. 3. Among these subjects, 62.7% of patients revealed at least more than one specific allergen and 70.3% showed elevated total IgE levels by MAST-CLA. The three most frequent specific allergens were Dermatophagoides farinae (47.5%), Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (45.8%), and house dust (30.5%). 4. While age was not significantly related to positive of both specific allergens and total IgE (P>0.05), sneezing and nasal stiffness were significantly associated with positive of specific allergen and total IgE, respectively (both P<0.05). 5. Total IgE increased with the number of specific allergens, but both specific allergen and total IgE were not significantly related to increases of allergic symptoms (P>0.05). In conclusion, our data suggest that MAST-CLA allergen-specific IgE assay is useful measure for identification of causative allergens in allergic patients, however, it is recommended that more specific allergic antigens should be determined and replaced or added to Korean inhalent panel of MAST-CLA.

      • 타이어 설계인자를 고려한 자동차의 조종 및 안정 특성에 관한 연구

        As the technique of automobile industry is being advanced, the advancement of performance for vehicle is being required. In order to achieve this purpose, the study on the handling and stability which are produced by moving vehicle is carried out actively. Ability to predict vehicle performance using computer simulation is essential to reducing the development time for tire companies as well as car makers. From the previous research. we showed that handling simulation tool developed for J-turn and lane change maneuvers on ADAMS could be used in predicting the performance difference among tires with different specifications in vehicle mild handling behaviors. Through this study, some meaningful correlations were achieved. Also barriers to direct application of the simulation technique to tire development process and several technical problems that should be resolved were iden tified. In this results, ability to predict vehicle performance using computer simulation is essential to reducing the development time for tire companies as well as car makers.

        교사-유아와 유아-유아 수놀이 상호작용이 유아의 지능과 사회성에 미치는 영향 비교

        본 연구는 교사-유아, 유아-유아 수놀이 상호작용이 유아의 지능과 사회성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 비교.검증해봄으로써 보다 효과적인 교수학습 방안 모색을 위한 기초자료를 제공하려는데 있다. 만 5세 유아 60명을 대상으로 교사-유아 수놀이 집단에는 교사와 유아의 상호작용을, 유아-유아 수놀이 집단에는 유아끼리의 상호작용을 4주(12회) 실시한 결과, 유아-유아 수놀이 상호작용 집단이 교사-유아 수놀이 상호작용 집단보다 지능 점수와 사회성 점수가 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났다. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Teacher-Child math-play interaction and Child-Child math-play interaction. A total of 60 children(33 boys and 27 girls) whose ages were five years from the H Kindergarten in Kwangju were selected, half as the Teacher-Child group(17 boys, 13 girls) and half as the Child-Child group(16 boys, 14 girls). The instruments used in this study were K-WPPSI and Bronson's 'Social and Task Skill Profile'. In order to compare the effects of Teacher-Child math-play interaction and Child-Child math-play interaction, the collected pre-post test data were analyzed using t-test. The findings of this research were as follows; First, there were significant differences between the two groups in intelligence quotient. The intelligence quotient scores of Child-Child math-play interaction group were significantly higher than those of the Teacher-Child math-play interaction group. Second, there were significant differences between the two groups in Social Ability. The Social Ability scores of Child-Child math-play interaction group were significantly higher than those of the Teacher-Child math-play interaction group. As a result of this study, it appeared that Child-Child math-play interaction activities were very effective for improving children's intelligence quotient and Social Ability.

        The term osteomyelitis literally means inflammation of bone marrow. It is described as an inflammatory condition of bone primarily engaging the medullary Following circulatory collapse and ischemia, the involved portions of the bone become necrotic. Cellulitis and osteomyelitis are the most frequent complications of fractures of the mandible and maxilla, because there is an abscessed tooth in the line of fracture. Since most fractures are compound fractures, infection may develop because of contact with oral secretions or outside air. The treatment of chronic osteomyelitis is still under debate. Some authors rely on antibiotics alone, while others advocate combination with surgery. But when infection occurs, establish proper drainage and administer antibiotics. Author treated a case of infected mandibular fracture with mandibular osteotomy, sequestrectomy, iliac bone graft and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, who had suffered suppurative osteomyelitis and mandibular nonunion following the open reduction of the mandibular fracture.

      • 충격하중을 받는 해양구조물의 설계에 관한 연구

        The importance of the impact force on the vertical offshore circular structure member in the surf zone due to the breaking wave has been recongnized recently In this paper characteristics of breaking wave forces and the corresponding estimation procedures for them are investigated. For the characterization of the wave forces three parts drag force inertia forces impact force are categorized and identified respectively Among them the impact force in mainly studied the concise form of the force is proposed with the application scheme for the design of offshore circular structure member. The resulting form proposed here for impact force is well coincided with former research results by other people. Except the impact force so called Morison equation can be employed for the common offshore structure design. The drag force and inertia force are represented as conventionally for the profile except the breaking part. In the numerical example for typical sea condition and the member size the proposed procedures for the breaking wave forces calculation are demonstrated. It is found that the impact force is the most dominant one comparing with inertia and drag forces in the surf zone.

        The characteristics of breaking wave force are studied and the corresponding estimation procedure for them are proposed. Among drag force and inertia force and impact force, the impact force is mainly studied with the change of relevant parameters and the example calculation of the force is presented with the application scheme for the design of offshore circular structure member. The impact force is determined based on the main design parameters changes and the relevant wave theories applied. The drag force and inertia force are represented as conventionally for the profile. In the numerical example, for typical sea condition and the member size, the proposed procedures for the breaking wave forces calculation with different wave theories are demonstrated. It is found that the impact force is the most dominant one comparing with inertia and drag forces in the surf zone, and the force is strongly dependent of the applied wave theories. Numerical results show that the impact force value based on the nonlinear wave theory is more conservative in the design of offshore structures.

        천연 제올라이트를 이용한 고농도의 칼슘이온 제거 : 이온교환속도 및 이온교환능 Kinetics and Isotherm

        The concentrated calcium removal from industrial wastewater by natural zeolite was examined to reduce inhibitory effects of those ions on the biological treatment in down-stream. It is well known that natural zeolite possesses good cation exchange capacity. Kinetic studies by using a batch-type methods demonstrated that the adopted particle size(1-2, 2-2.8, 2.8-4㎜) of zeolites showed similar exchange trends of calcium ions and showed relatively fast exchange reaction within 1 hour in spite of various zeolite dosages. The influence of the temperature on the ion-exchange capacity (isotherm) was examined. It was found that calcium exchange capacity(4.464㎎-Ca^2+/g-zeolite) at low temperature of 5℃ was double up to 9.225㎎-Ca^2+/g-zeolite at the range of 22-40℃. However, ion exchange efficiencies were similar at each condition of pH 6,7,8,10.

        마취흰쥐에서 天麻鉤藤飮의 心血管作用에 對한 硏究

        The present study was attempted to investigate the cardiovascular effects of Cheonmagudeumg-Eum (CMGDE), which is known to be one of chinese medical prescriptions used in treatment of hypertension, in the anesthetized rats and to clarify the mechanism of its pharmacological action, making use of its water extract. 1. CMGDE (5-45 ㎎/㎏), given into a femoral vein of the rat, produced a dose-dependent hypotensive and bradycardic responses while even much larger doses of it (10-90 ㎎/㎏), given into the rectum, did induced negligible hypotensive responses. 2. CMGDE-induced depressor responses were inhibited greatly by pretreatment with phentolamine (an adrenergic α-receptor antagonist), but not by pretreatment with atropine (an antimuscarinic agent) and chlorisondamine (an autonomic ganglionic blocker). 3. Pressor responses evoked by intravenous norepinephrine were attenuated significantly by pretreatment of CMGDE-infusion with a rate of 45㎎/㎏/20min. 4. In the rat aortic strips, phenylephrine (an adrenergic α1-receptor agonist) and high potassium (a membrane depolarizing agent) caused potent contractile responses, respectively. However, in the presence of CMGDE (2㎎/㎖), the contractile responses of phenylephrine (10-5M) and high potassium (5.6×10 exp (-2)M) were markedly inhibited. Taken together, these experimental results suggest strongly that Cheonmagudeung-Eum may cause the hypotensive responses in the anesthetized normotensive rat, indicating that this cardiovascular effects of CMGDE is likely due to the blockade of adrenergic α-receptors without cholinergic effects.

        직업적인 납 노출이 없는 일부 중년 한국인의 골중납량 및 혈중납량

        목적: 우리나라에서 납에 직업적으로 노출되지 않은 일부 중년 성인들의 골중납량과 혈중납량의 수준과 상호관련성을 알아보기 위하여 40세 이상 남자 86명 여자 51명 총 137명을 대상으로 본 연구를 시도하였다. 방법: 연구변수로 골중납량인 경골납량,혈중납량을 택하였다. 경골납량은 K-shell XRF를 이용하여 각 대상 자들을 30분간 측정하였고,혈중납량은 원자흡광광도계법으로 분석하였다. 결과: 총대상자 137명의 경골납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.49±4.99 μg/g이었으며, 남자와 여자는 각각 3.90± 4.88 μg/g 및 2.80±5.14 μg/g이었으나 양군 평균의 통계적 차이는 없었다. 한편 총대상자 137명의 혈중납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.70±1.35 μg/dl이었으며,남자와 여자는 각각 3.93±1.25 μg/dl 및 3.30±1.42 μg/dl이었으나 양군 평균의 통계적 차이는 없었다. 음주,흡연 및 BMI를 통제한 후 혈중납량을 종속변수로 한 중 회귀분석에서 연령은 양의 영향을 주는 변수로 나타났다. 여자대상자만을 대상으로 한 중 회귀분석에서 교란변수를 통제한 후 연령은 경골납량에 경계수준의 양의영향을 나타내었다. 결론: 40세 이상의 우리나라 중년성인의 경골납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.49±4.99 μg/g이었으며,혈중납량의 평균±표준편차는 3.70±1.35 μg/dl이었다 혈중납량은 연령과 성과 유의한 양의 관련성이 있었으나,골중납량은 여자에서만 연령과 경계수준의 유의한 관련을 나타냈다. Objectives: In order to investigate the level and the association between bone lead and blood lead levels of non-occupationally, lead-exposed Koreans, the authors studied the lead biomarkers of 137 middle aged Koreans (86 males and 51 females) older than whose age were above 40 years. Methods: The tibia lead level was selected as the bone lead indicator of cortical bone, and the blood lead level was also measured. The tibia lead level was measured by K-shell XRF with 30-minute measurement of each subjects. The blood lead level was analyzed by AAS method. Results: The mean (SD) of the tibia lead level of the 137 study subjects was 3.49 (4.99) ,㎍/g, and tended to be higher. The mean (SD) of tibia lead level in male subjects (was 3.90 (4.88) ㎍/g) and larger than in that of female subjects (2.80 (5.14) ㎍/g), but without no statistical significance was observed. The mean (SD) of blood lead level of all total subjects was 3.70 (1.35) ,㎍/dl, and tended to be higher. The mean (SD) of blood lead level in male subjects (was 3.93 (1.25) ㎍/dl) and larger than in that of female subjects (3.30 (1.42) ㎍/dl), but without no statistical significance was observed. In multiple regression analysis of blood lead levels after adjusting for covariates, age was a significant independent variable. A weak association of age with tibia lead in female subjects was also observed in multiple regression analysis. Conclusion: The mean (SD) of tibia and blood lead levels of middle aged Koreans whose ages were over 40 years old were 3.49 (4.99) ㎍/g and 3.70 (1.35) ㎍/dl, respectively. Age and sex were positive predictors of blood lead level in multiple regression analysis after controlling for the covariates. However, in multiple regression analysis whereas age was weakly association with tibia lead level only in female subjects in multiple regression analysis.
