        10학년 과학교과서의 물질 영역 탐구 분석

        본 연구에서는 제 7차 교육과정에 따라 개발된 11종 10학년 과학교과서 화학영역의 탐구를 분석하여 교과서의 개발과 탐구 학습에 대한 교육적 시사점을 찾고자 한다. 탐구를 탐구 주제, 탐구 실험 실습기기, 탐구 지면 할당량의 3가지 영역으로 나누어 분석하였다. 이를 분석한 결과 탐구의 주제와 탐구 실험 기기 영역에서 실생활과 관련된 주제와 기기를 많이 다루고 있다. 교과서마다 표현 방식이나 내용의 차이가 있고 실험기기의 명칭의 일관성이 없으며 동일한 주제에 시용한 실험 · 실습기기에 차이가 있다. 평균 탐구 지면 할당량이 40.5%이며 그 중 '전해질과 이온(45.2%)'단원이 지면 할당량이 가장 높게 나타났다. 단원별 탐구 지면 할당량의 차이가 많이 나타나는 교과서도 있다. 이러한 부분을 보완하기 위해 교사들은 탐구 내용의 전반적인 내용을 파악해서 누락된 부분을 재구성하여 학생들이 다양한 탐구 활동을 할 수 있도록 하여야 한다. Eleven different kinds of the 10the grade science textbook based on the 7th curriculum were analyzed. Especially, inquiry activity on chemistry field was analyzed in order to provide a clue for the development of new science textbooks and the learning through inquiry activity. Analysis of the inquiry activity for the textbooks was made in view of three separate aspects, i.e., inquiry subject, experimental tools and devices for the activity, and number of pages devoted for the inquiry activity. The result indicates that the inquiry subject and the experimental tools and devices are mostly connected with everyday life. Among the textbooks determined, the way of expression and the contents appear to be different. In addition, there is an inconsistency in the name of the experimental tools and devices used and different tools and devices are used for the experiment with the same subject. In average, 40.5% of the total pages of the textbooks are related to the student's inquiry activity. The most extensively discussed subject in relation to inquiry subject is 'an electrolyte and ion (45.2%).' Some of the textbooks include quite different amounts of pages devoted for the inquiry activity between separate chapters. Thus, in order to improve said problems and thus to develop a more complete science textbook, it is required for science teachers to fully analyze and understand its overall contents and to supplement any missing parts so that the students can be able to successfully carry out the various kinds of scientific inquiry activity.

        This experimental study has been carried out to investigate the coefficient of head loss due to the dividing flow through the T type junction in the Reynolds number ranging from 6×10exp4 to 10exp5. The main duct 50mm in diameter and the dividing ducts of three kinds, respectively 50, 40 and 30mm in diameter, which were PVC pipe, were used. The results obtained are as follows: 1. Loss coefficients don't exert a great influence on the change of Reynolds number. 3. As the area ratio increased, the loss coefficients due to the weight flow ratio changed suddenly.

      • Propylthiouracil에 의한 중증 급성간염 1예

        PTU에 의한 간염의 발생은 매우 드물게 발생하는 것으로 알려져 있으나 저자들은 Graves씨 병으로 진단 받고 propylthiouracil 투여를 받고있던 환자에서 중증의 급성 간염이 발생한 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Propylthiouracil is widely used to treat patients with hyperthyroidism. This drug has been associated with severe hepatotoxicity rarely. We presented the case of jaundice and profound liver dysfunction from a 23-year old woman treated with propylthiouracil for hyperthyroidism. Viral, metabolic, and autoimmune liver disease could be excluded and liver biopsy revealed a pattern of acute hepatitis. After discontinuing the drug, there was a progressive resolution of hepatic symptoms and decrease in biochemical data of the liver. Despite propylthiouracil induced hepatitis in rare case, patients receiving propylthiouracil are exposed to develope severe hepatotoxicity. Therefore it might be advisable to monitor level of the transaminase on regular base from patients receiving propylthiouracil.

        Inhibitory effects of Saururi chinensis extracts on melanin biosynthesis in B16F10 melanoma cells.

        <P>Saururus chinensis has been used in folk medicine in Korea for the treatment of edema, jaundice, gonorrhea, and several inflammatory diseases. Saururi chinensis extracts (SCE) have demonstrated anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities, as well as anti-asthmatic, antihypertensive, anti-angiogenic, and therapeutic activities for atopic dermatitis. However, the inhibitory activity of SCE on the melanogenesis signaling pathway is not completely understood. This study examined the effects of SCE on the melanogenesis signaling pathway activated by α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). We found that SCE inhibited melanin production in a dose-dependent manner without causing cytotoxicity in B16F10 cells. Interestingly, SCE decreased α-MSH-induced tyrosinase activity in B16F10 cells but did not inhibit tyrosinase activity under cell-free conditions. The results of this study indicate that SCE may reduce pigmentation by way of an indirect, nonenzymatic mechanism. We also found that SCE decreased α-MSH-induced microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) and tyrosinase expression and induced the activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK). These results suggest that the depigmenting effect of SCE may result from downregulation of MITF and tyrosinase expression due to increased ERK activity. Thus, our results provide evidence that SCE might be useful as a potential skin-whitening agent.</P>

        Fractional Photothermolysis 치료 후 피부회복 촉진에 미치는 경구용 저분자 콜라겐 펩타이드의 효과

        최근에는 콜라겐 펩타이드가 항상화효과를 통해 피부의 재생을 촉진시키는 효과를 한다는 연구가 보고되고 있다. 본 구는 저분자 경구 콜라겐 펩타이드가 1550 nm fractional photothermolysis 레이저 치료 후 피부재생에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 본 실험에 참여한 환자는 총 10명으로 실험군과 대조군 각 5명씩 무작위배정되었다. 대조군과 실험군 모두 동일하게 fractional photothermolysis 레이저를 시술받았다. 실험군에서는 경구 콜라겐 펩타이드를 하루에 1,000 mg씩 총 8주간 복용하였다. 치료 전후 모든 환자에서 피부의 탄성도, 경표피수분손실도, 홍반지수를 측정하였다. 피부탄성도는 실험군에서 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 피부의 탄력성이 증가하였음을 확인하였다(p < 0.05). 경표피수분손실도는 두군간에 유의한 차이가 없었고, 홍반지수는 실험군에서 더 빨리 감소하는 결과를 보였다. 환자의 주관적 만족도평가에서 시술 4주 후 환자의 만족도는 실험군에서 평균 2.0점, 대조군에서 1.2점으로 나타났다. 저분자 콜라겐 펩타이드는 1550 nm fractional photothermolysis 레이저 치료 후 피부회복 촉진에 도움이 된다. Recent studies have revealed that collagen peptide plays a protective role on skin by improving the activity of antioxidants and acts as an inducer of skin regeneration. To evaluate the efficacy of low molecular weight collagen peptide for skin recovery after non-ablative 1550 nm fractional photothermolysis laser. 10 volunteers were randomly divided into two groups. Both control and experimental groups received fractional photothermolysis treatment. In the experimental group, 5 subjects received oral collagen peptide 1,000 mg/day for 8 weeks. Before and after the treatment, we measured elastic recovery of skin, transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and erythema index (EI) for each patients. The evaluation of clinical results showed that elastic recovery of skin is higher in the experimental group than the control group (p < 0.05). TEWL have no significancy between two groups and erythema rapidly disappeared in the experimental group. On the quartile grading scale, the mean patient satisfaction 4 weeks after the fractional photothermolysis treatment was 2.0 in experimental group and 1.2 in control group. The low molecular weight collagen peptide appears to be an effective conservative therapy for skin recovery after non-ablative 1550 nm fractional photothermolysis treatment.

        Human Skin Safety Test of Green Tea Cell Extracts in Condition of Allergic Contact Dermatitis

        Various kinds of positive effects of green tea extracts had been studied for long time which included anti-inflammation, anti-aging, and cardiometabolic effects. Although topical steroid and non-steroidal calcineurin inhibitors may control clinical symptoms of allergic contact dermatitis, some of patients also present allergic reaction to these topical agents. Therefore, we have tried green tea extracts for managing this skin disorder with expectation of anti-inflammatory effect without potential side effects including skin irritation and toxic responses. The toxicity test of green tea extract also did not show any sign of irritation in the skin throughout the test period. Moderate severity of allergic contact dermatitis presented satisfactory clinical outcome at second week follow-up which was final visit of outpatient. This result mean that green tea extract has a positive effect for managing allergic contact dermatitis but its potency and efficacy seem to be so not strong enough to control moderate severity allergy skin lesion. In this pilot study, we were able to conclude that green tea cell extracts might be applied for potential anti-inflammatory soaking without skin toxicity.

      • Phosphatidylcholine and bipolar radiofrequency for treatment of localized fat deposits

        <P>Bipolar radiofrequency (RF) is capable of delivering higher energy fluencies direct to the dermis through a needle electrode. This produces heat when the tissue electrical resistance converts the electric current to thermal energy in the tissue. A 38-year-old man visited our clinic for reduction of submental fat deposit, but otherwise in overall good health. After deciding to perform phosphatidylcholine (PPC) injections subcutaneously, we concerned about edema and swelling of injection site lasted several weeks. We wanted to shorten the period of edema and swelling, and we decided to add bipolar RF treatment. After 1 week of PPC injection combined with RF treatment, overall volume of jowl was decreased and edema and swelling on the PPC injected site markedly subsided. This reduction of fat deposit lasts longer than 1 year. Follow-up for 1 year demonstrated that the cosmetic results were well maintained.</P>
