2014년 8월 5일부터 7일까지 경상남도 창녕군 일대에 위치한 대한민국 최대의 내륙 습지인 우포늪 일대를 한국거미연구회 회원(김주필, 예용택, 장지현, 오종화, 예성훈, 유혜성, 채준호, 김태우, 김민섭, 변진관, 성민규, 김지후, 김대희, 김녕, 이정준, 이형민 등 16명)들이 채집 조사한 결과 16과 48속 69종의 거미가 조사 연구되어 이에 보고하는 바이다. The authors investigated the spiders of the Upo wetland from 5th August to 7th August, 2014. In the present paper 69 species of 48 genera belong to 16 families were identified. These specimens are deposited at the Joo-Pil Spider Museum, Namyangju-Si, Kyunggi-Do.
Development of a Chest‑Belt‑Type Biosignal‑Monitoring Wearable Platform System

The purpose of this study was to develop a wearable platform system that can detect and acquire a soldier’s biosignals (i.e., heart activity signal, respiration rate, etc.) in a nonrestrained, unconscious manner. These detected biosignals are transmitted to a processing device to analyze and monitor the soldier’s physical status. To achieve this, textile-based heart activity electrodes and a strain gauge sensor for the respiration signal measurement were developed, and their performances in detecting each signal were verifed. These sensors were embedded in a chest belt to design a wearable platform that can simultaneously measure heart activity and respiration signals. The sensor part of the chest belt has a dual layer structure to detect high-quality signals. Stretch fabric was used on the outer layer and a respiration sensor was attached to the belt. On the inside layer, a non-stretch fabric was used as the base fabric and a heart activity-sensing electrode, that is capable of taking measurements using a modifed lead-II heart activity signal induction method, was embroidered onto the fabric. Subjects were asked to wear the chest belt, and a biosignal processor module was attached to verify the system’s performance while simultaneously acquiring the heart activity and respiration signals. More specifcally, it was confrmed that the two signals were detected in a stable. It is expected that the biosignal-monitoring wearable platform system developed in this study will be able to efectively analyze and monitor soldiers’ biosignals.

The Most powerful tools in the snthetic organic chemists arsenal are organometallic compounds and metal mediated transformations. Organometallic reagent has its own characteristic chemo, regio, or strereoselectivity. We reported a general approch for highly reactive meatl powder by reducing metal salt in tetrahydrofuran solvents using lithium as reducing agents. The metal salt to reduced must be partially soluble in the solvent and reductions are carried out under an argon atomosphrer. The reductions are exothermic and generally are complete within a few hours. The reductions generated a Finely divided black powder. particle size analyses indicate a range og sizes from one to two microns to submicron range depending on the metal and, more importantly, on the method of preparation. It should be pointed out that particle size analyses as wellas surface area stuies have been done the metals that been collected, dried, and analysis. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) photographs reveal a range frommaterial to polycrysalline metals.

Continuous indentation test is getting more used to derive indentation flow curve. The overall deriving algorithm is relatively well-established, the details of the algorithm are, however, still argued. One of the arguments is the definition of true strain which constitutes the indentation flow curve. In this study, work-hardening exponent was adopted for determining what definition is appropriate to obtain accurate indentation flow curve since work-hardening exponent is affected by only the definition of true strain not by other constants. The effect of calibrating contact depth was eliminated using finite element analysis. Finally, the definition based on tangent function was determined to be proper for deriving the indentation flow curve. (Received September 8, 2004)

The formation of novel organometallic compounds by the reaction of organic substrates with finely divided metal powders represents a powerful tool for the synthetic chemistry. The direct reaction with a zerovalent metal is the only viable method of synthesis for many of these compounds. Accordingly, chemists have been activity developing new methods for increasing the reactivity of metal powders toward organic substrates. Three principal approaches have been developed in recent years: the metal vaporization method, sonochemistry, and the preparation of finely divided metal powders by the reduction of metal salts. A number of new methods of synthesis have resulted from these studies. The preparation of highly reactive magnesium metal by alkali metal reduction of magnesium salts has previously been reproted. So we prepared highly reactive metal powders and Grignard reagent formation using highly reactive magnesium metal has generally been limited to alkyl halides.(sec-butyl chloride, n-butyl bromide, n-butyl iodide) and we prepared α ,β -unsaturated ketone having cyano-, ester- groups. Reaction of Grignard reagents which contained alkyl halide with α ,β -unsaturated ketones prepared 3˚ -alcohol.

CDld molecules recognize glycolipid antigens with straight chain fatty acid moieties. Although most of the residues in the COld binding groove are hydrophobic, some of the amino acids can form hydrogen bonds. Consequently, we have designed ai-hydroxy fatty acid-containing glycolipid derivatives of the prototypical COld ligand a-GaiCer. The potency of the ai-hydroxy analogues of the proper length is comparable to that of a-GaiCer. We propose, based on the biological results and molecular modeling studies, that a hydrogen bonding interaction is involved between the w-hydroxy group and a polar amino acid residue in the hydrophobic binding groove.

Mitochondrial Complexes I and II Are More Susceptible to Autophagy Deficiency in Mouse β-Cells

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>Damaged mitochondria are removed by autophagy. Therefore, impairment of autophagy induces the accumulation of damaged mitochondria and mitochondrial dysfunction in most mammalian cells. Here, we investigated mitochondrial function and the expression of mitochondrial complexes in autophagy-related 7 (<I>Atg7</I>)-deficient β-cells.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>To evaluate the effect of autophagy deficiency on mitochondrial function in pancreatic β-cells, we isolated islets from <I>Atg7</I><SUP>F/F</SUP>:RIP-<I>Cre</I>+ mice and wild-type littermates. Oxygen consumption rate and intracellular adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) content were measured. The expression of mitochondrial complex genes in <I>Atg7</I>-deficient islets and in β-TC6 cells transfected with si<I>Atg7</I> was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Baseline oxygen consumption rate of <I>Atg7</I>-deficient islets was significantly lower than that of control islets (<I>P</I><0.05). Intracellular ATP content of <I>Atg7</I>-deficient islets during glucose stimulation was also significantly lower than that of control islets (<I>P</I><0.05). By Oxygraph-2k analysis, mitochondrial respiration in <I>Atg7</I>-deficient islets was significantly decreased overall, although state 3 respiration and responses to antimycin A were unaffected. The mRNA levels of mitochondrial complexes I, II, III, and V in <I>Atg7</I>-deficient islets were significantly lower than in control islets (<I>P</I><0.05). Down-regulation of <I>Atg7</I> in β-TC6 cells also reduced the expression of complexes I and II, with marginal significance (<I>P</I><0.1).</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>Impairment of autophagy in pancreatic β-cells suppressed the expression of some mitochondrial respiratory complexes, and may contribute to mitochondrial dysfunction. Among the complexes, I and II seem to be most vulnerable to autophagy deficiency.</P>
